Story
Breed: Pitbull Gender: Male Estimated Date of Birth:  9/26/2023 Size: 75 pounds Location: Wedowee, AL RESCUING CLYDE... Clyde was found as a stray at a hunting club in Alabama.  The hunting club reached out to RRDR to see if we could take Clyde in since sadly there is no animal control in the city or county to help.  We brought Clyde into our rescue on 3/2/2024.  ABOUT CLYDE... Clyde is living in our rescue cottage with other dogs.  Clyde is a BIG baby with a big heart!  He actually has a spot on his back that is shaped like a heart.  He is crate trained and house broken. He loves people and is overly friendly to all!  He is a big happy goofy boy.  He is strong and needs someone that can manage his spurts of enthusiasm and be available for snuggly nap times.  He is a big lug head but so tender.  He just loves to be with his people and get lovin'. He loves other dogs but can be overwhelming to other dogs  due to his size and energy level.  If he had a large female playmate he would do great.  His perfect home would be a pitbull savvy home that will continue to work on training with him and love him to pieces.  He would probably love some older kids to run, play and chase around.  His favorite toy is a big rubber tire that he loves to self entertain with.  He rides really well in the car too. Please consider giving Clyde a chance!     ADOPTING CLYDE... Clyde is neutered, current on all vaccines, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, microchipped and on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative.  His adoption fee is $200.00.  If you are interested in learning more about Clyde and potentially adopting him please complete an adoption application at https://www.rescueridgealabama.org/general-4.  If you have any questions please email us at rescueridgeal@gmail.com.  FOSTERING CLYDE... Clyde would love to get the opportunity to live with a family that can foster him until his forever family is found.  If you are interested in fostering Clyde please complete a Foster Application at https://www.rescueridgealabama.org/ways-to-help. If you have any questions please email us at rescueridgeal@gmail.com. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 8, 2024, 1:41 am

Story
Breed: Pitbull Gender: Female Estimated Date of Birth:  4/9/2021 Size: 52 pounds Location: Wedowee, AL RESCUING BELLA... Bella was running loose in downtown Wedowee frantic and fearful.  Concerned citizens networked her on social media and she was picked up by two men who chained her to the front bumper of their car in their front yard.  The original owner was located and was unable to care for Bella and on 4/1/2024 she was signed over to the rescue to find her a new loving forever family.  ABOUT BELLA... Bella is living in our rescue cottage with other dogs.  She is happy-go-lucky, friendly and loves everyone and everything.  She is a very loving and energetic and just the sweetest most beautiful girl with green eyes! She loves all other dogs and loves to play and lay in the sun.  She was born with a deformed front right paw but she does walk on it and use it.  There is no treatment for it and she is not in any pain and it does not slow her down! Her special paw is what makes her so special! She is crate trained and housebroken. She currently has a fenced in yard and does well on a leash.  She does well with children and wants to be with her people.   She will also give a warning bark if someone approaches the home. ADOPTING BELLA... Bella is spayed, current on all vaccines, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, microchipped and on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative.  Her adoption fee is $200.00.  If you are interested in learning more about Bella and potentially adopting her please complete an adoption application at https://www.rescueridgealabama.org/general-4.  If you have any questions please email us at rescueridgeal@gmail.com.  FOSTERING BELLA... Story
We started fostering sweet Izzy when she was on the Kill List at the local animal shelter. She was the last one on the list still there, and my heart couldn’t take it. I unfortunately dont have the means to keep her forever, as much as I would love to. I want to find her a loving home. She has done great with my 3 other large dogs. I;m unsure about smaller dogs. She has also done amazing with our two toddlers. See pictures, my toddler is in them 😂. She’d be a great addition to anyone’s home. She is very young and we are working on basic training commands with a trainer as well.

Story
Meet Junior, a 2-year-old male Pit/Hound mix who is ready to bring boundless energy and joy into your life! This spirited boy is all about fun and play, and he is on a mission to make every day an adventure. Junior’s journey has not been easy—he came to us as a skinny, battered pup with a deeply embedded collar. After months of tender care and healing, Junior is now bursting with vitality and ready to find his forever home. Though Junior still sports a ring around his neck from his past, his resilient spirit shines through. He is an energetic bundle of joy who thrives on activity, so he is looking for an active family with a yard to run in or a schedule that includes regular trips to the park. Junior has made lots of friends here at the shelter and is a joy to have in our doggy play groups! He is very entertaining to watch playing with other dogs as they chase each other, roll around together, and play with toys. However Junior’s youthful exuberance means he might be a bit too boisterous for small children, as he can be mouthy and might inadvertently knock them over in his excitement. Despite his rough start, Junior is a loving, playful pup who deserves a second chance at a happy life. His zest for life and sweet, goofy personality makes him a fantastic companion for anyone ready to embrace his energy and enthusiasm. If you are looking for a loyal, lively friend who is eager to share endless fun and affection, Junior is the perfect match for you! Give this deserving boy the forever home he has been waiting for. The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip.Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA.
