Story
🐾 Meet Colt: Your New Best Friend! 🐾 Introducing Colt, a laid-back 3-year-old Pitt who’s just looking for a couch of his very own! Colt is one of the easiest-going boys in the shelter, never making a peep or bothering anyone or anything. Even when he sees kittens playing, he simply looks and continues on his way, making it possible for him to be introduced to a new cat sibling in his forever home! Colt’s easygoing nature extends to everything he does, including his walks. He’s never in a rush and is always ready for a break when you are, making him perfect for a home that enjoys more family time rather than hiking adventures. He’s not a chewer and would much rather you surprise him with a new blanket than a toy! One thing Colt loves is treats, and he’s just as gentle taking them, so there’s no need to worry if your toddler slips him some cheese now and then. Colt is unbothered by any of the dogs in the shelter, whether they’re male, female, young, or old. While he does take some interest in the ladies, he doesn’t get overexcited! Colt came into the shelter already fixed, but unfortunately, he didn’t have a microchip. We assume he has been in a home before as he tries his best to keep his kennel as clean as he can. Story
Chasity was brought in from Highway 75 as a stray on 7/24/24! We believe Chasity to be a Pitt mix with all of her 50 pounds of weight being in her personality! Thanks to Dr.Garrett she is now spayed, Microchipped, and vaccinated! All that's missing is this girls new home! Chasity does well on a leash though she can be quite the puller when she sees something she must have. Chasity has done well meeting other dogs in the shelter, but we do recommend a proper introduction as some dogs may not enjoy her in your face attitude! Chasity is still a young girl only being between 2-3 years old meaning she could still use some help with manners though her manners as of now have been good with minimum jumping , not pushing barriers, and waiting for her food politely! Chasity has not had the opportunity to meet many children at the shelter yet but those that she has met she has met with a wagging tail and a few quick licks! Chasity has had the opportunity to watch some of our kittens in the shelter play and while she did give them a quick glance she quickly lost interest meaning it is possible for her to be introduced to a cat in her new home! Chasity is available for adoption immediately. For more information on how you can rescue or adopt this girl please message us on Facebook or call/text us at 256-960-1408! Euthanasia date:9/24/24

Story
🥓 Meet Cassie, the Snack Queen! 🍗 If you’re a fan of snacking and need a partner-in-crime, Cassie is your girl! She’s a connoisseur of all things delicious and is always ready to share a treat (or two, or three...). Cassie is outgoing and has never met a stranger she didn’t say hello to—especially if they’re holding food! Cassie is a big fan of kids and would love a home where she can run around in the yard, playing and growing up right alongside them. Just imagine the snack times they could share! 🍕👧👦 When it comes to other dogs, Cassie needs a proper introduction, especially with other females. She’s still mastering her leash manners—no pulling here! Cassie is more of a crawler, taking her time on walks and occasionally needing a little pep talk to keep moving. 🚶‍♀️🐾 Cassie would thrive in a semi-active to active household. She’s smart and quickly learns that small kiddos might not appreciate being used as a trampoline. 🏡 And while she’s still figuring out the whole toy situation, she’s pretty sure there’s nothing better than a soft, cuddly stuffy! If you’re looking for a sweet, snack-loving, fun companion, Cassie might just be the perfect match. For more info on Cassie, send us a message on Facebook or call/text at 256-960-1408! 📱🐕 Who’s ready to share some snacks with Cassie? 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️

Story
🐾 Meet Chloe: Your New Shadow! 🐾 Looking for a loyal companion who’ll be your shadow? Meet Chloe, the sweet and quiet girl who finds joy in the little things—like yummy treats, shaded walks, and cozy beds! Chloe loves to be close, so if you're in the office, expect her to be right at your feet, following you even to the bathroom (occasionally with a little wagging tail)! Chloe enjoys her walks and while she might pull a bit, a gentle "no" and she's right back to being your perfect shadow. She’s not a fan of other female dogs and can be selective with male dogs—Chloe knows your heart has limited space, and she wants all of it! Treat time is a delight with Chloe, especially if you have some Beggin' Strips on hand. She’s super gentle, so no worries about your fingers—just lots of tail wags! Chloe takes her time with meals, savoring every bite, so there's no need for any special bowls. With her mild manners, Chloe rarely jumps or pushes boundaries, so you can relax knowing she won’t bolt out the door. She’s also good with kids, especially older ones who understand the importance of nap time and respecting her space. If Chloe sounds like your perfect companion, we’d love to hear from you! Message us on Facebook or call/text at 256-960-1408 for more info. 🐕❤️ Euthanasia date:10/15/24

Story
This is Darby, She is as much a part of our family as our children. We found her after she had been hit by a car. Her pelvis was broken, she was emaciated, and she had just had puppies. We looked for days for them and never found them. She is the most loving, calm, wonderful soul. She is almost a truly perfect dog. I am forced to rehome her because she is extreemly protective of us and went into our neighbors yard and bit thier 7 year old lab. They have involved the police and we are being forced to either euthanize her or find her a new home. I cant even explain how painful this is, she is bonded to me like a child as I spent a lot of time with her durring her healing. We are guessing she is about 3 to 5 years old. She has escape artist tendencies so a solid fence is a must. She also has had sever trauma on a leash at some point as she is petrified them along with car rides. She prefers women, but has never shown aggression with a man either. There's so much more but I'm out of words

Story
Hello everyone. My name is Jaxon. My birthday is on January 7th. I was rescued as a stray by Animal Control and brought to Second Chance Shelter in Boaz Alabama on January 7, 2021. I have been at the shelter since I was a year old . I want to be the King of the house so I need to be the only dog. I love people and giving them all kinds of lovings. If you are looking for a dog to give unconditional love and attention, I'm the furbaby for you. I know how to sit, on occasion, and I can wait pretty patiently for my food. My friends here at the shelter love to visit me and I trade kisses for treats. I think I am pretty good at giving kisses.

Story
I got Daisy to keep my other dog Gretchen company. For the most part they get along, but Gretchen likes her alone time and Daisy doesn't respect it. Daisy is very outgoing, affectionate and craves attention. I also have a chihuahua, Paisley who is the boss over both dogs. Daisy loves the outdoors and I have a huge yard that she and Gretchen run around in. She also loves being inside. She will go in and out multiple times a day and a doggy door would be good for her. She thinks she's a lap dog and loves to be close to you. She is housebroken but she has had a few accidents. She loves stuffed toys but will destroy them, my house has looked like a graveyard for stuffed animals, lol. Daisy needs someone who will give her the attention she needs and doesn't have to compete for her attention.

Maxine is believed to be a bulldog mix between 2-3 years old and weighing approximately 60 pounds. Maxine does well on a leash with minimal pulling. Story
📢 Meet Pax, the shy guy who’s ready to steal your heart! 💖 Pax may be a big puppy, but he’s one of the most gentle souls you’ll ever meet. He loves everyone and everything, though he might need a few minutes to warm up to new people or dogs. Once he does, he’s all about sharing—whether it’s toys or food, Pax is happy to share with others. Leash training is still a work in progress for Pax, but he’s improving with each walk, thanks to plenty of patience and reassurance. Despite his size, Pax desperately wants to be a lap dog, making him the perfect cuddle buddy for movie marathons or rainy day naps. 🌧️ Pax would thrive in a home with a confident fur sibling to help him build his confidence. He does well with children, though his shy nature means he might take a little time to fully relax. If you’re looking for a gentle giant who’s ready to be your snuggle partner, Pax is waiting to meet you! 🐾 📩 Send us a message on Facebook or call/text at 256-960-1408 to learn more about Pax! GAH HAS WAIVED TWIX’S ADOPTION FEE‼️ Hiya world!!! The girls here have decide to name me Twix. 💙 I am around 2 years old and appear to have some boxer in me. I am goofy, and very loving! I love to roll and roll and roll all in the grass. I would make a fantastic companion! The girls here are still trying to fatten me up, right now I weigh 50lbs but 60lbs is ideal! My health check turned out great and I was heartworm negative!! The girls gave me some yummy heartgard and flea/tick prevention. I am also already neutered! So basically, I'm the perfect boy just waiting for my perfect home. I do well with other dogs and haven’t meet a human I don’t love. I have playful energy but can settle down after some excitement. Twix’s adoption fee is $95 which includes: Dapp and Rabies vaccine, fecal and dewormer, heartworm test (negative), and wellness check. All services have already be done and he is ready to be adopted!
