Story
DOB: March 2, 2020 (Age: 4 years old) Kash is kennel-trained, lives indoors, and does not use the restroom inside the house. He does notify you when he needs to go outside by sitting by the door. Kash has been socialized with cats and other dogs and is not aggressive. When meeting new dogs, he does get overly excited and vocal. Sometimes, I think he rushes the smelling process. Energetic, goofy, and lovable dog. Enjoys spending time outside, playing, sunbathing, watching TV, and car rides. Knows how to climb into a chair and sit by himself. Leash-trained. I only allow him off-leash in a fenced-in dog park while under supervision and wearing a training collar. Has been good with children since a puppy. Knows basic commands sit, lay, speak, no, come, stay. Overall, Kash is a wonderful dog, and I am committed to ensuring that he will be neutered and rehomed safely to a good family. I have more pictures and videos of him that demonstrate his behavior and personality.

Story
Hi, I'm Violet! I'm a happy and very friendly little lady who hasn't met a stranger! I have very good manners, and love hanging out with the volunteers. The best part is that they take me for a swim too!! I know some commands, and am pretty low key because I just want to cuddle a bit and relax! I can't wait to have a new family to spend time with and be a prefect little couch potato (although I may snore a bit if I doze off :>!). *The Adoption fee for Violet is reduced/covered by adoption sponsorship donations When I arrived at the Ark, we played the 'guess what breed I am' game, and the most guesses were that I'm an American Pit Bull Terrier mix, but I know that's just a guess - I know what I am, I'm a Purebred Mix-Breed!! **Ark Rescue dogs are available for adoption to homes in the Alabama and Tennessee Valley area only. We do require a secure fenced-in yard to adopt our larger dogs. September 7, 2024, 10:05 am

Story
Kobe is a lovable, energetic, and loyal dog. I found him in 2020 when he was about a year old. He's a strong boy with a heart of gold but has some quirks requiring patience. Kobe has separation anxiety and can get overstimulated, making him a handful at times. Despite trying several medications for his anxiety (gabapentin, trazodone, fluoxetine, and supplements), none have worked and all caused adverse effects. He's great with kids and cats once he settles in, though he may get overly excited and jump on them. I'm unsure how he would do with other dogs, as he becomes extremely overstimulated when seeing them outdoors or passing by in the car, so we tend to keep him away from them. He's protective and sweet but struggles with calming down. Kobe can't be left alone unless crated securely but is otherwise content. He doesn’t care for most traditional dog toys or fetch, so engaging him takes creativity. With patience & understanding, Kobe will be a loyal and loving companion.

Story
Violet was found on the side of the highway with a broken leg as a puppy. My husband was a local police officer who found her and took her for veterinary care. She healed beautifully and became attached to him. He was attached to her too, taking her with him everywhere he went. Sadly, my husband passed away about a year and a half later. We have had to down size drastically, now living in a much smaller house with family who already have dogs and cats of their own. Violet is a very sweet dog who loves cuddles. But she needs room to run and play, which we just do not have. She is so much larger and younger than the other dogs we are living with. We have decided to re-home her in hopes she can find that space and live the life she deserves.

Story
Hi, this is Atlas. Atlas is a great dog. Atlas comes from a home with three other dogs. Atlas lived his life to the fullest daily until two years ago. I got new neighbors with chicken coops right here in the city and a year later their cousins got the house behind me and every since then atlas has lived a miserable, I have never seen him with other dogs just ours, how ever at this point it is not fair to atlas to keep him. So here is the run down. Atlas spent about five hours or more outside a day on a runner now with chickens taunting him daily from both side of the yard atlas cannot be outside comfortably they have small terrier dogs as well unleashed constantly taunting atlas the chickens are 30 deep and their dogs are constantly in our yard stressing atlas out he has never bitten the small dogs only played with them but I think atlas wants to try the chicken out fresh and atlas is highly allergic to chicken. He misses being outside. This is not his life he was meant to have.
