Story
Griff has had a rough start in life. One of our long time volunteers found him tied to a tree in horrible shape. We took him in to Apollo and got him medical attention. He is young, confused and the shelter noises make him very anxious. He is the cutest and quirkiest pup that would make someone laugh and have a lot of fun. We took care of his medical needs and all he has is a little bit of hair loss. That just makes him more special. At less than a year old Griff has suffered abandonment and neglect. We hope for an active family willing to love him and train him with patience and understanding of his horrible past. He is neutered and up to date on shots. He is anxious at the rescue and it’s been difficult making a clear determination if he is dog reactive or not. We believe once outside of the noise and with proper decompression time he could tolerate other dogs. This would take time and slow introductions are recommended.Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided.If you are interested in adopting, please complete our Pre-application: https://form.jotform.us/asr628/ShortAdoptionInquiry

Meet Addie & Allie! Addie and Allie are two Chihuahua mixes who are the perfect pair—most likely sisters—and about four years old. Addie is the taller, slimmer sister and weighs 10 pounds, while Allie is the slightly larger one at 11 pounds. These girls truly adore each other and also love their buddy Andy. All three found themselves at a high-kill shelter, scared and unsure of what would happen next. Thankfully, they’re now safe and settling in nicely. Addie and Allie happily go into a crate together at night and sleep through until morning, when they’re ready to head outside to potty. They may not be fully house-trained yet, but they’re off to a great start. Because of their strong bond, Addie and Allie must be adopted together. Separating them wouldn’t be fair—and honestly, they’re like a perfectly matched pair of shoes… they just belong together. 💕 They are located in the North Dallas, Texas area. He adores attention and loves to snuggle right next to his person on the couch or in bed. While he may bark occasionally, it's rare, and his favorite pastime is simply sunbathing in the backyard. Lil Buff has been treated for heartworms and is still on his journey to full recovery, so we keep things calm and quiet to help him heal. He may show some interest in chasing the cat, but he's wise enough to know when to rethink that plan—especially when it's a one-on-one situation! Buff is great at using the dog door, enjoys his meals, and loves a good nap. He's currently working on his house manners and has discovered that he absolutely loves carrots!
