Story
A FRIENDLY FELLOW: Approx. 8 years old / Approx. 16 lbs. Hi, I’m Emilio! I came to Mostly Mutts with another dog friend from animal control and I’m so happy to be here! I enjoyed spending time with the nice volunteers at Mostly Mutts and then I got to spend time in 2 foster homes and had a great time! My fosters had to go out of town, so I’m back at the shelter waiting to meet my new family!! Maybe you? • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I came in with another dog and coexisted well with the 2 dogs in my temporary foster home, though I wasn’t a fan of a lot of nose-to-nose interactions, so if you have a dog that’s not looking for a playmate, let’s meet. / I wasn’t fond of the cats in my temp. foster, so I’d rather not live with cats please. / There was a 16- and a 17-year-old in my temp. foster home and I liked them. I did jump on them when they ran past me, but not in an aggressive way - I was just trying to tell them to slow down. I appreciated when they were calm around me, so if you have calmer kids, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: The shelter volunteers and my former fosters described me as very sweet, friendly, happy, gentle and a bit playful, too. They also reported that I’m quite the lap dog and that I sat nicely for my bath! I was a bit shaky during the ear cleaning part, so I just stood on the edge of the tub and was thankful they offered some kisses and consoling hugs which I liked. I thrive in a calm, quiet environment where I can relax with my people. / Energy level: 3-5. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’, and ‘place’ commands. I also have proper door etiquette and walk nicely on a leash. I’m sure you can teach me even more! / My crate manners were good at Mostly Mutts, but I cried a bit in there in my temp. foster home. My temp. foster said I didn’t really need the crate, and let me sleep in her bed with her, and I loved that, so perhaps we could do that, too? / I had good potty manners in my temp. foster home, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home, too! • LIKES/DISLIKES: I really enjoy being in laps and snuggling with people. I’m also a fan of getting attention and just knowing that I’m loved! Going for walks is fun and I love getting some fresh air and exploring new places, too. I’m sure we can discover lots more things we will enjoy doing together! / Other than cats, kids that are too active, a lot of nose-to-nose interactions with other dogs, and other dogs barking at me, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.
