Story
Name: 마음 (Maeum) Age: Estimated 3 years old Gender: Male Weight: 13 lbs Breed: Mixed breed Neutered: Neutered (recovered from heartworm) Vaccination: Completed 4th round Relationship with Adults: Maeum is a bit fearful of all adults, but he particularly loves female humans. He has experienced trauma from male humans, so he needs more time to build trust with them. He's been living in a foster home for 8 months, and he's still afraid of men, but with patience, he will likely adjust well. Relationship with Children: Maeum is scared of children as they have thrown stones at him in the past. However, he doesn't reject their touch and can get along with children in the same household. Relationship with Other Dogs: He is not very interested in other dogs and can be fearful of both large and small dogs. Sometimes he may show interest in bigger dogs if they have a similar body language, but caution is advised as he's still learning social skills. Relationship with Cats: Maeum is also scared of cats but doesn't pay much attention to them. He is a considerate and gentle dog, so he may get along well with cats once he's familiar with them. House Training: Initially, Maeum may do some marking until he fully adjusts, but currently, he has no bathroom accidents. He tends to lift his leg and urinate, so using longer pee pads against the wall is a good idea. Energy Level: He is extremely gentle and timid, not prone to accidents or mischief. He is quite fearful of loud noises and toys that make noise. Separation Anxiety/Barking: Maeum has some separation anxiety because he loves human interaction. He may show signs of it in the first few minutes but can wait quietly when left alone. He rarely barks, except when he's happy to see people. Affection and Petting: He loves being petted and cuddled. Walking: Maeum enjoys walks and walks calmly. He may be uncomfortable in unfamiliar places or around loud noises, especially when children are playing with balls nearby. Escape Possibility: Maeum doesn't try to leave the side of those he trusts (typically females). There's very little chance of him running away, but caution is advised when outside. Rescue Story: Maeum spent a long time as a stray dog, living in a large open space with other dogs. He endured harsh weather conditions, facing extreme cold in winter and scorching sun in summer. He had no shelter and had to deal with mosquito swarms every evening. Despite this, he greeted people who came to feed him, but some cruel individuals cut his leash and chased him away. A few days later, he was found at a shelter, rescued, and brought to safety. He's an incredibly sweet dog despite the hardships he's faced. Please note that Maeum's past experiences have left him with some fears and anxieties, so it's essential to provide him with a patient and loving environment to help him heal and adjust. Please apply at www.welcomepawsrescue.org. This pet is currently in Korea but can fly to Lax, JFK, DFW, Chicago, SFO, SeaTac, DC, Boston, ATL, Vancouver and Toronto upon the adoption.

Story
Pickle is a large Pomeranian, well known and well loved by his community. He does exceedingly well in crowds and with children - who love to stop and pat his fluff and comment on his teddy bear looks. He belonged to my retired parents for many years. After they moved to a 'no dogs allowed' facility last year, we adopted him. Unfortunately, our busy young family schedule means that we cannot give Pickle the walks and attention he so badly needs. He is looking for a kind, friendly, slower-paced home where someone can give him attentive TLC. He will turn 15 in January 2025, but remains in surprisingly good health - as per vet reports. He barks when anxious, which can be relieved with lots of pats - treat don't hurt either!

Story
***Rapunzel is back for the adoption. Currently in Toronto!!!! Rapunzel is looking for her forever home! ❤️ This sweet and gentle Pomeranian loves people so much! She will follow you around and beg for attention and belly rubs. Her favourite pastime is to be held by her human and completely melt in their arms 🥹. She loves people of all ages and gets along with dogs too! Although she prefers to relax with people over playing with other dogs, and will even beg for attention from strangers. She is untested with cats, but has a low prey drive and wanted to chase squirrels and the small animals in her previous foster home. Rapunzel is leash trained, and potty trained outdoors. She may have an occasional accident if she has to hold her pee for over 8 hours but is usually fine. She is crate trained and loves to spend time in her crate to sleep. She does bark if she hears footsteps or a sudden noise from an unknown source, but her bark is quiet. She is good with sharing food/toys with other dogs. While Rapunzel is a very calm and gentle dog with the person she loves most, she does have some environmental resource guarding in her own home. She does not like when visitors or a second owner are up and walking around or tower over her, but is okay if they are seated and is usually okay if she is being carried- the extra height gives her a confidence boost. She will need some time to decompress and support to help her build confidence. When outdoors or visiting another home, she is okay with strangers and allows them to pet her. But is shy with some men and avoids their touch. Rapunzel is assumed to be from a breeder or puppy mill. After a dental scaling check, she had to get most of her teeth extracted, and currently has four teeth. . . Does she sound like the right companion for you?
