Story
***Local Adoption Only: Pilaf needs a forever family in the central Florida region (Orlando area) who can commit to taking him to his final puppy vetting appointments. These have already been scheduled at one of Poodle and Pooch Rescue's vetting partners and the cost is covered by the adoption donation.*** Meet Pilaf! This 4-month-old American Eskimo dog currently weighs 18 lbs. This cute fellow shines like the brightest star in the sky General Behavior: Pilaf is a nervous pup at first but he is quick to warm up to his person. He follows his foster mom around the house 90% of the time but if he hears any sound, he goes immediately to investigate what is going on. If anyone walks in the house or makes an unexpected move or sound, he will bark at them. Once Pilaf is comfortable, though, he will win your heart with his joyful expressions, hugs, and kisses. He is very smart and active and will need vigorous exercise several times a day and frequent mental challenges. ,  Likes & Dislikes Pilaf loves lots of physical exercise and mental stimulation. He is an expert-level runner, jumper, and climber. He would play 24/7 if he could; he is always ready for a new adventure and for constant attention. He likes squeaky toys. If you throw the toy(s) far out, he fetches them. He also likes to chew on his bone toy. If he doesn’t have toys around, he becomes very creative and will invent his own game: if you have a party coming up, he can make confetti out of any paper of any size or color. He can’t stay still unless he is tired out. Then, he loves belly rubs and snacks! Pilaf likes a treat like a couple of organic cookies late afternoon, or edamames. Training: Pilaf is a smart cookie! He dis doing well with his housetraining. While he needs to be taken out frequently, he will let you know when he needs to go out. He is a good passenger in the car, He has learned that not all food is his and respects other’s dogs’ bowls. He knows a few commands: sit, no, out, let’s go outside. He acquired leash skills and some socialization. Medical Pilaf is a healthy boy! He just needs his monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog. He also needs a forever family in the central Florida region (Orlando area) who can commit to taking him to his final puppy vetting appointments. These have already been scheduled at one of Poodle and Pooch Rescue's vetting partners and the cost is covered by the adoption donation. Other Animals: Pilaf is okay with other dogs He would like to play with them, however he can be rough at times and he can overwhelm calmer and smaller dogs with his attempts to play. Having other mid-size dogs at home that like playing rough would be ideal or he'd be just fine as the only canine king in his castle too. He has not been observed around cats. Children: Pilaf can be very energetic, so he needs a home with active adults only..  Home: Pilaf would do best in a single-family home with a fenced in yard because he likes to be in the yard often and likes to run around. He'd do best in a home where someone is at home - he wouldn't be good home alone for more than a couple hours a few times a week. Grooming: Pilaf's coat is coat is soft, elegant, majestic. He requires a fair amount of combing and brushing at home, but not too much elaborate grooming. Overall: Pilaf is an outstanding pup who wants an active family to enjoy life. Are you are a loving, compassionate, patient person who lives in the Central Florida region? Do you want to spoil a precious pup who will adore you? Then visit our website at www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. Pilaf must be adopted locally to finish his puppy boosters and be neutered. Pilaf’s adoption donation is $650. ##2207828##

Story
Bree is being fostered in NJ. Her name is Bree but you could also call her Little Miss Perfect! Bree, Bree The cutest dog who cannot see Soft and furry is her coat When on your lap, you will surely dote She dreams of her own forever family For your love and loyalty she does plea Yes, Bree loves poetry! She also loves snuggles, treats, sniffing around the yard, and squeaky toys. Bree was an only dog for most of her life. Then she arrived at our crazy home and had to adjust to sharing everything with the other dogs. She is now a well-mannered, affectionate, friendly little gal. Bree adjusted to her foster home with no problem and immediately found her way around. She makes a cute low grumbling sound when she needs to go outside or wants the water bowl filled up. Just don't bother her when she is eating - she is very serious about meal time! Bree has the playfulness of a puppy - if you bring Bree into your family, have plenty of squeaky toys on hand. She loves to destroy them to get the squeaker out! Bree is also happy to sit on your lap or next to you as you relax. She enjoys "watching" TV and is a big Phillies fan. Her favorite player is Brandon Marsh - Bree likes his long beard. She is also an excellent car rider. Bree knows to "sit" when receiving a treat. And she does expect a treat when she comes back inside from going potty. Bree mostly sleeps in her own dog bed at night, but will sometimes want to sleep in the bed next to someone. As with any blind dog, Bree can be startled by a sudden noise or touch. She would do best with older children (over age 6). She needs to be introduced slowly to other dogs. Bree prefers a private dining experience. Even though Bree is a senior dog, she has plenty of playful years ahead of her and will be a joy to any family who adopts her. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
