Story
Buddy here! Age: 10 years young Neutered and vaccinated. Good on a leash Love to walk. (New foster needed) Buddy was found as a stray April 23, 2023, in South Gate, Ca. under neglected conditions. His coat was completely matted and was full of feces and urine. His nails were so long and bloody that he was no longer able to walk properly because of the pain. When Buddy was found he was terrified of people. No one could get near him because he would react. It's been over a year since Buddy was found and sheltered. Sadly no one claimed him. He was recently assessed by a professional trainer and Buddy showed potential to be adopted by an understanding family willing to have patience for him. Buddy is looking for a low traffic home, preferably no kids. Buddy can be a bit scared at first, but he is all in once he opens up! He absolutely loves walks and to run at the park. #adoptaseniorpet Please consider adopting a senior dog. Buddy deserves to know what it is like to have a loving and caring family! Buddy hopes to meet you soon!

Story
Name: 마음 (Maeum) Age: Estimated 3 years old Gender: Male Weight: 13 lbs Breed: Mixed breed Neutered: Neutered (recovered from heartworm) Vaccination: Completed 4th round Relationship with Adults: Maeum is a bit fearful of all adults, but he particularly loves female humans. He has experienced trauma from male humans, so he needs more time to build trust with them. He's been living in a foster home for 8 months, and he's still afraid of men, but with patience, he will likely adjust well. Relationship with Children: Maeum is scared of children as they have thrown stones at him in the past. However, he doesn't reject their touch and can get along with children in the same household. Relationship with Other Dogs: He is not very interested in other dogs and can be fearful of both large and small dogs. Sometimes he may show interest in bigger dogs if they have a similar body language, but caution is advised as he's still learning social skills. Relationship with Cats: Maeum is also scared of cats but doesn't pay much attention to them. He is a considerate and gentle dog, so he may get along well with cats once he's familiar with them. House Training: Initially, Maeum may do some marking until he fully adjusts, but currently, he has no bathroom accidents. He tends to lift his leg and urinate, so using longer pee pads against the wall is a good idea. Energy Level: He is extremely gentle and timid, not prone to accidents or mischief. He is quite fearful of loud noises and toys that make noise. Separation Anxiety/Barking: Maeum has some separation anxiety because he loves human interaction. He may show signs of it in the first few minutes but can wait quietly when left alone. He rarely barks, except when he's happy to see people. Affection and Petting: He loves being petted and cuddled. Walking: Maeum enjoys walks and walks calmly. He may be uncomfortable in unfamiliar places or around loud noises, especially when children are playing with balls nearby. Escape Possibility: Maeum doesn't try to leave the side of those he trusts (typically females). There's very little chance of him running away, but caution is advised when outside. Rescue Story: Maeum spent a long time as a stray dog, living in a large open space with other dogs. He endured harsh weather conditions, facing extreme cold in winter and scorching sun in summer. He had no shelter and had to deal with mosquito swarms every evening. Despite this, he greeted people who came to feed him, but some cruel individuals cut his leash and chased him away. A few days later, he was found at a shelter, rescued, and brought to safety. He's an incredibly sweet dog despite the hardships he's faced. Please note that Maeum's past experiences have left him with some fears and anxieties, so it's essential to provide him with a patient and loving environment to help him heal and adjust. Please apply at www.welcomepawsrescue.org. This pet is currently in Korea but can fly to Lax, JFK, DFW, Chicago, SFO, SeaTac, DC, Boston, ATL, Vancouver and Toronto upon the adoption.

Story
He was going to be killed at the shelter in kern county, because they have too many dogs just to make room, and we rescued him. He just turned one year old, and is the most beautiful, gentle and affectionate dog. He MUST go to an experienced husky owner, as he is pure husky, with high energy and escape skills. My husbands health has taken a decline, and He can no longer take him for walks or play with him. He’s highly affectionate, crate trained, potty trained. Never barks, mostly quiet. He does wonderful with kids, seniors, small dogs and cats.

***Courtesy post - contact Rachel  818-378-8995***  Lucy (11 yo American Eskimo) and Ricky (2 yo Cavelier King Charles/Terrier mix) were abandoned in a field together all alone before being picked up by animal control. They were then rescued but shortly thereafter the group who pulled them from the shelter closed their doors so they were abandoned once more. Ricky and Lucy have had a very rough life so far and just want to be in a forever home together. Ricky is spunky, sweet and has a sense of adventure. Lucy is blind and a bit fearful but once she knows she’s safe, she’ll be grateful with kisses. They have been waiting for their happily ever together. Both are fixed, UTD on shots and ready for a home to call their own! This is a courtesy post for another rescuer.  To find out more about this bonded pair please text Rachel 818-378-8995.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 13, 2024, 4:59 pm

Story
Edgar Allan Poe is a sweet pup who loves to run around and play. He is easy going and really just loves to cuddle. He is mostly potty pad trained and trained to do his business out on walks or at the dog park. He does have accidents at first until he figures out his potty/walk routine. Edgar rides well in the car and is content in a dog bed or in someone's lap. He enjoys playing with friendly, playful dogs once he warms up to them. He can be shy at first, but warms up quickly to lots of pets and kisses. He walks well on the leash, especially on his normal walking route. He always has his head to the ground trying to sniff out his new surroundings. In new areas, he can get eager on the leash and pull to the next spot he is interested in. He does well in populated areas, but can bark a few times when he sees a new dog that he wants to go up to and get to know. He listens well to redirection in those situations and quiets down quickly. Edgar enjoys chewing on toys while his foster mom works from home. He is pretty quiet in the home and will entertain himself if everyone is busy. He may bark a couple of times to get his foster family's attention if someone is really knocking on the door. If he can, he loves sleeping in his human's bed and he'll full sploot out with floppy arms on his back. He is also happy sleeping on the floor or in a dog bed. Edgar gives sloppy kisses! He is a very kind dog and a sturdy size to cuddle with children as he doesn't mind when his ears, tail, or legs are tugged on. Edgar would be happy in a home with other dogs or by himself. He ultimately wants a loving family that will match his loving, warm spirit!

Story
Say hello to Hermes, the turbo furbro! Hermes is a dog’s dog. If you’ve ever watched a movie about a mischievous but lovable pooch, then you’ve seen a movie about Hermes. He has three main traits: playful, friendly, and energetic! While on walks, he will beg for attention when walking past other people. Speaking of walks, it will be important to take him on long walks that satiate his curiosity and burn his energy. He also loves to play a lot and has turned some of his toys into cotton clouds. Hermes will need a home with people who can play with him each day, otherwise, his excess energy may cause him to chew on your shoes or steal your food. He is partially pad-trained but will need continued reinforcement to solidify his training. Grooming is new to him, so he’s still getting used to brushing his teeth and fur. He loves people more than other dogs and has a strong instinct to food guard. Even with all his shenanigans, Hermes is an easily lovable dog, and it’s hard to believe he almost didn’t make it safely out of the shelter he was at. All in all, Hermes is a loving dog, looking for a forever home with loving parents just like him.

Story
When I first met my foster mom, I was so shy and scared to go home with her, but the minute I met my furry foster brother and sister, I knew I was going to be just fine. I’m only a year old with lots of puppy energy, but I’m constantly told I’m a “such a good boy!” I only chew on my own doggy bones and toys. I’m potty trained and always let my foster parents know when I need to go outside. I sleep through the night and love cuddling up with my foster mom in bed. I’ve been great with people of all ages from toddlers to the elderly. I love playing with other dogs and would be best in a home with other dogs that can keep me company and can play with me. I wouldn’t want to be left home alone as an only dog, I’m too social to be an only dog. My foster mom gave me a bath, and I loved it! Afterwards, she kept talking about how silky and soft my hair is. It’s not even fully grown in yet, just imagine how pretty it will be when all my adult fur has grown in! I’m also great on walks and would like at least two walks a day to help me get my puppy energy out. I’m not all energy though, I like long afternoon naps, cozy cuddles while sitting next to you, and a good eight hours of sleep every night. Knowing that I’m “such a good boy,” I’m looking for “such a good family” to love and live the rest of my life with. Are you that family?
