Story
I purchased Cooper when he was a puppy from a friend who bred her male cocker spaniel with Cooper's mother. Cooper is now 4 1/2 years old. He is a very loving dog, loyal, and a one-person dog. Two years ago Cooper and I moved in with my daughter's family, which includes 3 children under the age of 6, he does not do well around children. He is not overly aggressive to children just very nervous around them. At this time we also have an adult yellow labrador and a house cat. Cooper does get along with our other animals as long as food or treats are not nearby. I would love to find Cooper a home where he will be loved and taken care of. I hope to find Cooper a home with adults only, although Cooper is only 4 he is not energetic, I would describe him as more of a couch potato.

Story
**WE HAVE RECEIVED MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS FOR ZIGGY AND ARE NOT ACCEPTING NEW ONES AT THIS TIME** Pal's Place would love to introduce you to one of our newest rescues, Ziggy, a little pint-sized powerhouse of love, energy, curiosity, and affection! Zig is an American Cocker Spaniel, estimated to be between 1 and 2 years old, weighing 17 pounds. He found his way to Pal's Place from an overcrowded animal control facility in Kentucky. He arrived at animal control in rough shape, his coat so terribly matted he had to be completely shaved down and a very thin 10 pounds. We suspect he may have come from a puppy mill or neglectful backyard breeder. Despite a rough start in life, Ziggy remains a happy, enthusiastic, friendly little fella with a wonderful, sunny, merry, and bright disposition! True to his Cocker heritage, he knows no strangers and greets every human and canine he crosses paths with as a long-lost friend. Being a young Spaniel, he's energetic, playful, curious, a bit mischievous, and busy, busy! He'll make a fantastic companion for a family as active, curious, and fun-loving as he is. Ziggy especially loves children and is an ideal playmate for them. Ziggy also LOVES other dogs. He is excitable when meeting new canine friends and can be a bit overwhelming in his eagerness and persistence to play, which some dogs do not always appreciate. He'll make a great companion for another dog with a similar energy level and playfulness but may be too much for an older or more mellow dog. Ziggy is working on his crate training and housebreaking and does well when kept on a regular schedule. He can be vocal at times, especially when crated or left alone. Because of this, we feel he's not particularly well-suited to apartment or condo living and would do better in a single-family home where his talkative nature will not disturb close neighbors. Zigs will make a phenomenal companion for any Cocker Spaniel lover, and he's anxious and excited to meet his new family. Submit your application today! Ziggy is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested (negative), and microchipped. His adoption fee of $375 helps cover his neuter, vaccinations, and any other medical expenses necessary to prepare him for adoption. He is being fostered on Chicago's north side and can be seen by appointment only after an application has been received and approved. For more info or an application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacerescue.org. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an adoption application unless you are ready to meet and welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. Adoption applications and correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are waiting for our reply, please check those folders regularly, and if it has been 48 hours without a reply, please follow up with an email to ensure your application was received. •Ziggy's adoption fee is $375. This fee covers any necessary medical care to prepare him for adoption. Pal's Place relies solely on adoption fees and donations to care for the animals in our rescue. Your donation also helps save other dogs like Ziggy from euthanasia. • Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an adoption application, including the dog's name in the subject line.
