Story
This handsome guy is Ocho, a 7-year-old American Bulldog/Boxer mix ready to find his forever home!Ocho is quite the catch as he is as low-maintenance as dogs come. It doesn't take much from his human(s), sometimes its just a smile, to make his stub of a tail wag and let you know he's enjoying life.Although he may look serious, this boy is a total goof and the sweetest of dogs. Ocho will make you smile daily, but especially when you come home or he sees someone he knows and jumps/dances with his legs straight to do the funniest of taps. He's a tank but surprisingly light on his feet!Ocho absolutely loves his people and when he knows you, he trusts you for life. He may take a moment to warm up but once he does, he'll be rolling over for belly rubs and snuggles with the biggest of smiles. He loves to sit next to you or against you when given a comfy spot to rest.Ocho would ideally like to be the only dog in the home, so he can keep all the attention for himself. While he currently lives with a dog and does well, when he meets new dogs he can be overly excited. He much prefers calm, confident female dogs. He loves the occasional short play with her and enjoys a good walk but doesn’t need one. He’d be down for a hike or time in the yard (his recall is great). He has also previously lived with cats but would need slow introductions and supervision to re-introduce him to felines.Ocho has a history of living with kids and reportedly did okay. Since coming into rescue, he's shown that he's not a fan. For this reason, it is best that Ocho finds a forever home that does not have children in the household and we recommend slow and supervised interactions when he encounters them in the future. Ocho isn't a big fan of chaos and would prefer a chill home to spend his best years.Besides his family, what Ocho loves most is a ball. He especially likes to chew on a ball, fetch a ball, or simply sleep on a ball. If a ball is around he'll be content. He is also into toys, especially squeakers. In new spaces Ocho can initially vocalize when left alone so shared walls are not recommended. With time he is fine being left solo, just trying to work his sweetness on you.Like most Bulldogs/Boxers, Ocho can run a bit sensitive so appreciates the current medication he’s on that has helped his body heal from the previous living environment he was in. He has since become a beautiful, healthy pup.Ocho is the epitome of a dream dog and a content companion ready to bring happiness to whatever family is lucky enough to get to call him their dog.If you think Ocho could be a good fit, apply using the link below to learn more!https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
This 1-year-old Shepherd mix is equal parts gentle giant and affectionate cuddle bug! At 52 pounds (and growing!), Brownie is a total sweetheart who's ready to lounge by your side, showering you with adoring looks and plenty of kisses. This boy is great with kids and shows no issues around them, making him an excellent addition to a family. He also interacts well with other dogs, barking only once to say hello before calmly moving along. While he hasn’t had experience with cats, his curious and gentle demeanor suggests he may be able to adjust with proper introductions. Brownie has adjusted well to his foster home and is learning more every day. He’s crate-trained and will settle when needed, but he much prefers snuggling on a cozy bed with you as your perfect Netflix buddy. He will need a little supervision while house-training is perfected—he’s great at signaling when he needs to go but might have occasional accidents. Brownie has a big bark and occasional whines, so he is not a match for homes with shared walls (apartments/condos). Despite his large size and deep bark, he’s still figuring out how to handle his growing body, often scratching awkwardly or accidentally bumping into things, which only adds to his goofy charm. Brownie loves a daily walk and a good play session with toys and bones (destruction included!), but he’s happiest when he’s close to his people. He would do best in a house with a fenced yard where he can safely stretch his legs and enjoy the outdoors. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will make your home his whole world, Brownie is ready to meet you! Story
** Can only be seen by appointment: 651-772-8983 **Well hey there! My name is Gus and I`m a handsome, 5 year old Bulldog mix. I was picked up by St. Paul Animal Control and my owner was never found so I was transferred to Animal Ark. I can be a bit shy with new people so I would need some time to get to know you, but I am a sweet boy. I need to go to a home with a fenced in yard, with no children or small animals, and with someone who is willing to teach me how to be a well-mannered boy. I would also need a slow introduction to any potential canine siblings. I am very treat motivated and very smart. Since I`m such a special boy, I can only be met with an approved adoption application. If you think I might be a good fit for you, please contact the shelter!

Visit our FAQ page to learn why. Bob here, your soon-to-be favorite couch ornament. At 80 pounds, I'm big, squishy, and 100% committed to napping. Seriously - napping is my calling. Walks? Meh, I'll go along with them, but don't be surprised if I stop every few minutes to 'check things out' (aka take a break). I do enjoy wandering the yard in search of sticks to chew on&#194&#151hey, that counts as exercise, right?I'm house-trained, and when nature calls, I'll give you a bark that says, 'Excuse me, human, bathroom break required.' Other dogs? I'm cool with them, although I'm more of a 'you do you' kind of guy. Kids? Haven't met any in a while, but I'm basically a bowling ball on legs - so, yeah, I might accidentally knock them over. It's not personal, just physics.Cats? Listen, I don't even know what those are. Are they toys? Tiny, weird-shaped dogs? Your guess is as good as mine. But here's what I do know: I'm a total sucker for human affection. Belly rubs, ear scratches - just tell me where to sign up. Oh, and while I'm a fan of my own voice, your neighbors might not be. So, apartments? Probably not my vibe.Sure, I'm missing a few teeth, but trust me - I've got enough charm to make up for it. So, if you're in the market for a goofy, attention-loving Bulldog with a serious passion for lounging, look no further.
