Story
Hello! I`m Leni! I am a 5 year old, 48.5 pound, female mixed breed. I am a sweet girl that loves her people and loves attention. I love making play mates with other dogs, but also enjoy being laid back and chewing on my toys. I love being pet and loved on, playtime with fetch and tug-o-war, and going out on walks, for which I walk very well. I love chew toys and anything with a rope. I`d love a family that loves to play as much as I do. Walk-ins are available from Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Saturday and Sundays have walk-in hours from noon to 4 PM. The best way to get in touch with us is by email: info@secondchancespca.org. Due to the volume of calls, only the most urgent calls will be returned. Story
Meet Gotti – A Big-Hearted, Gentle Soul Looking for a Forever Home Introducing Gotti! This 69-pound lovebug, estimated to be 6 to 8 years old, is thought to be a unique mix of Basset Hound and American Bulldog. Rescued from a tough hoarding situation, Gotti is a sweet, calm companion who enjoys the simple pleasures in life—a cozy dog bed and short outdoor strolls. He’s a quiet guy, seldom barking, with the laid-back demeanor of a Basset Hound. Recently neutered, heartworm negative, fully vetted, and both house- and crate-trained, Gotti is ready to become someone’s loyal friend. He’s great with other dogs, and though he’s gentle around children, his size makes him best suited to a home without kids. Gotti needs a person or couple who can give him all the love and attention he’s missed. If you’re ready to bring home a big-hearted companion, Gotti is here to add joy to your life. His adoption fee is $125. https://chloespetrescue.org/application

Story
Tater Tot was purchased from a breeder and then later surrendered to Dallas DogRRR Rescue. When he was a baby he experienced a traumatic injury to his hip and spinal cord. It was determined Tater's mom or owner stepped on him as a pup and the previous owner never fixed his injury. His hip was completely out of the socket and the other leg did not seem to be functioning. We had him seen by our doctors and decided to remove the one leg due to Tater chewing his foot; it had become necrotic and unsaleable. There was no way to save the leg. The other leg was not repairable and eventually it also had to be amputated due to becoming necrotic as well. Tater needs someone who is willing to give him the special care that he needs. He is paralyzed from the hips down. He wears diapers due to his incontinence. We assure you is comfortable and has a good quality of life. Once you meet this guy you will know. If you have any questions prior to adopting please email patti@dallasdogrrr.org Tater gets around wonderfully there not much that slows him down. He does have a wheelchair that was purchased for him. Update from his foster..... Tater has settled in well. He's quite a character and becoming a Velcro pup, always wanting to be by his fosters side. He is on the search for a full time bone holder. His T-Rex arms mixed with the cone he had to wear after surgery made properly holding a bone difficult. This boy loves to chew; so you must be able to hold at least two bones at one time! Proper holding of bone rewards you with the cutest looks and sweetest licks. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at http://dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Story
This precious meat head is Champs. Big, strong, loving and loyal and looking for a loving home. Champs was found living in a homeless camp with a logger chain and lock around his neck - chained to a tree. Life was desperate for this guy with his open neck wound. What agony he lived in day after day, despite that he was still nice to people and other dogs that came up to him. Luckily, a good person stepped up and did something rather than just pass him by. Champs is a sweet loving smart boy. He is eager to please his people and make them proud. He is the most handsomest, sweetest little big guy out there! We are working on our Canine Good Citizenship together and he is SOOOO quick to learn and eager to please! Champs is good with other dogs, but does need proper intros as he is VERY excitable and not a lot of other dogs like that. But he when he makes friends, they are the best of pals! Not sure on cats or other pets. He's very curious so he'd probably chase a cat if it ran from him. He is high energy. I would recommend an active home with teenagers with lots of energy that they can play together. He loves a consistent routine. So I would imagine the energy will settle a bit when in a home. He loves a good car ride and would be a great on-the-go pup! He's in boarding right now and needs a foster or adopter that is willing to continue his training! He would sure love a home to experience life with a loving family. Champs seems to like everybody he meets: humans and canines.

Story
Found as a stray with cactus needles all over her, and clearly overbred but sweet despite her rough little life. She is petite and sure to be such a good little dog. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.
