Caleb possesses all of our favorite qualities that make him an amazing forever companion. He is far and away one of our most dog-friendly boys, who is always ready to welcome new fur friends into the mix and show off all his favorite toys. He was also a big playgroup favorite at the shelter he came from, and seemed to be able to convince even the shyest dogs that they could still have some fun in the shelter as long as he was around! Caleb also has amazing potential to learn all the things you need him to in order to adapt to your lifestyle. He's incredibly human and treat focused, and picks up quickly on new commands with a big, dopey smile on his face. And you guys...we get it...sometimes handling bigger dogs can be intimdating. But our Caleb is an easy peasy dream on a leash. Caleb is a big goofy boy, and we love that about him. He wants love and human snuggles all the time, which may be a little too much for little kids who don't want to get knocked over. So we think older kids would be a good start for him. But, being he's seemingly easy to train, he's got the potential to learn calmer behavior when meeting new people and doesn't have a mean bone in his body.

I am Kermit the Dog.I am myriad things, but we will start with the simple, despite as magnificent as I most certainly am. So, I am Kermit the Dog, and I am pleased to make your acquaintance.I was found in a vacant lot outside of Austin by a kind stranger. I could not lift myself, could not walk, was nothing more than a big, ponderously lopsided head atop a skeleton with drum taught skin. The kind fellow took me to Austin Animal Center, where I was bathed and fed, where I met a foster family that were volunteering that day, a foster family who had spent ten minutes that morning in their automobile promising one another that they would not go home with another dog.I am Kermit the rosy-minded promise breaker, the one that makes a beautiful liar of you. On the way to their home I slept with my head on her lap as he drove me to meet my foster brothers and sister. I am Kermit the Picasso.My snout is somewhere between Pyrenees and Pug, I have one half of an ear on the right side of my head, a broken and drooping ear on the left side, and my tail is bent in so many places that when it wags (as it does often, because I am Kermit the Happy) it looks like a question mark fluttering in the wind.I am Kermit the Indefatigable. I try not to think of my life before this, but at some point I was discarded.Which makes me Kermit, the Most Magnificent Trash. I am Kermit the Curious. Where are you going? the bathroom? Free Willy! Willy would like to exchange his shelter life for home life pronto please. He`s already proven what a great family dog he is, he`s simply darn perfect. He loves people, children, toddlers, dogs, he doesn`t even flinch to birds landing rght in front of him. He`s a gentle peacekeeper. He`s also an easy, gentle walker. He`s super housetrained, and rides perfect in the car. He`s quiet and if that`s not enough, he knows ALL the tricks - left paw, right paw, both paws, down, bang bang roll over and play dead for a treat, especially if it will earn him belly rubs in the end. He SOAKS it all up and then takes your treats so very gently. He passes other dogs like a breeze and has shared kennel space with other dogs while onsite. And he leaves you, only if you must, with a big ole smile. There`s really nothing more to say except, how fast can you get here? Free Willy! Surely he had free roaming privileges before and he`s missing home comforts. Ask for help getting him out for some spoiling and find out for yourself what you`re missing out on. He`s advocated for by his fans and friends including ClassicCaninesATX who are helping to make connections home for him.
