Story
Kushia, named for the street on which he was found, is a boy looking to put the past behind him. He's shy when he first meets new people, but he wants to be equal parts affectionate buddy and eager playmate. He's already figured out how to have fun with dogs his own size and he occasionally reminds the neighbor's cat that his yard is for his family's exclusive use. In fact, home may be Kushia's favorite and most important place. He'd rather stay at home than go out and about on the town, and if he must choose between his favorite toy or putting on his leash and going for a walk, the toys will always win - paws down. Kisses are given generously by this two-year-old boy, and although he doesn't spend time with kids in his current foster home, he has in the past. But the past is behind him and Kushia will need a home where he can relax, learn the skills he missed out on as a pup, and continue to be the handsome dog he's going to be for the rest of his life. Story
Hi! I'm Dixie Rae, it's nice to meet you! My foster mom says I'm the goo- rope! Is that a rope? I love ropes. Anyways, my foster mom says I'm the bounciest, goodest girl ever, even though I'm a bit easily distracted. How can you not be distracted by all of the fun things in the world?! Like ropes, and tennis balls and toys full of stuffing! I love toys. Toys are my favorite, especially ones that I can pull all the stuffing out (I don't eat, just toss it aside) and ropes that I can play tug of war with. My foster brother and I can play tug ALL. DAY. LONG. We also like to wrestle. My two footed friends call me a helper dog because I'm really good at reading the body language of my doggy friends. I can bring my timid furriends out of their shells and back off when my furriends need a break. I make friends everywhere I go...well with the two footers and the puppers. I'm not really a fan of the cat type four footers. I'm really smart too. I learned my name super fast, and as long as there's not something better, I come when you call me. I know how to sit when you tell me, and I'm learning 'place'...apparently it's not polite to hover around the table during dinner time. I would love a furry sibling that I can play with all day long, but I'd be ok getting all of the attention too. Are you ready for me to move in? Story
Meet Frank Junior, the resilient pup who's overcome the odds to find his place in the world! Three years ago, Frank Junior entered the world as part of a bustling litter of 10 puppies. Born into uncertainty, his mother and 7 of her puppies, were lucky to find his way to a rescue where he was given a chance at a brighter future. But fate had more challenges in store for him, and in May 2024, he found himself facing euthanasia at a local shelter through no fault of his own. With less than 12 hours to spare, Frank Junior was whisked away from danger by a compassionate soul who recognized his potential for love and happiness. And as fate would have it, his rescuer turned out to be none other than the adopter of his biological mother, Franky. It was a twist of fate that would shape Frank Junior's future in ways he never could have imagined. Affectionately renamed after his beloved mom, Franky, Frank Junior quickly proved himself to be a chip off the old block. With his striking resemblance to Franky, both in appearance and spirit, it was clear that he was destined to follow in her paw prints. Initially, Junior was overwhelmed and withdrawn, struggling to trust his new foster humans. But with patience, understanding, and plenty of TLC, he slowly began to emerge from his shell. Today, he's a shining example of resilience, thriving on love and affection from those around him. Under 40 pounds, Junior is the perfect size for cuddling up on the couch or embarking on outdoor adventures. He's a certified love bug, showering his favorite humans with kisses and snuggles whenever he gets the chance. And when it comes to playtime, Junior is always ready for action, especially if it involves romping around with his canine companions. Junior is potty trained, crate trained, and ready to go! With a heritage that's as diverse as his personality, Junior is a unique blend of Bulldog, Chihuahua, American Bully, Pittie, and Staffy. But above all, he's a testament to the power of love and second chances. Whether you're looking for a napping buddy, an adventure partner, or simply a loyal friend, Frank Junior is ready to steal your heart and become your forever companion. Check out his story and see more pictures/videos on his foster parent's instagram @bennett_bunchofdogs - they have a story highlight dedicated to him. He is a sweet boy who needs a lot of attention and training. Whiskey is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. Story
Meet Tonic, a resilient and spirited canine with a heart as big as his paws. Despite facing adversity, Tonic's unwavering spirit shines through. He arrived at our veterinary clinic, teetering on the brink of euthanasia, not because of any wrongdoing, but due to housing restrictions that prohibited large or bully breeds. His owner's heartache became our opportunity to give Tonic a second chance. For the past four months, Tonic has graced our clinic with his joyful presence. The staff has grown fond of this lovable boy, but they recognize that he yearns for more-a spacious home where he can stretch his legs, chase after tennis balls, and bask in the sun. Tonic's zest for life is contagious, and he deserves a family who can match his enthusiasm. Now, let's address the elephant in the room: heartworm disease. Tonic wasn't initially on preventive medication, and unfortunately, he tested positive. But fear not! Since joining our care, Tonic has diligently taken Nexguard Plus monthly, and he remains symptom-free. Our dedicated veterinary team is committed to helping him recover fully. We're even willing to negotiate a reduced rate for the immiticide injection-a crucial step in treating heartworms-should a compassionate rescue or adopter step forward. Tonic's sweet nature and resilience have won us over, and we believe he'll do the same for his forever family. Let's find this deserving boy the world he so eagerly awaits! Tonic is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Story
I told Telly that as handsome as he is and with such a good attitude that he would get a loving home soon. He must’ve heard me because he was so happy that his tail never stopped wagging! He is a three year-old 57 pound black and white American Bulldog that came to Mesquite Animal Shelter on 8/10 as a stray. Now no one’s perfect, right? Well, Telly does occasionally jump on you but will get down with a stern command. He just needs a little bit more practice on this. He definitely wants to please. He’s very friendly, playful, affectionate and alert. When I wiped some mud off him, he just sat down and was very patient. He pranced and frolicked around the room in which I did his eval. He walks very well on a leash. He did his business when he got out in the yard. He was like the welcome wagon when it came to meeting other dogs. Telly wants to be an inside dog mostly so he can love on his new family. It’s too hot in Texas for the sweet boy to be outside in the heat!

Meet Gotti – A Big-Hearted, Gentle Soul Looking for a Forever Home Introducing Gotti! This 69-pound lovebug, estimated to be 6 to 8 years old, is thought to be a unique mix of Basset Hound and American Bulldog. Rescued from a tough hoarding situation, Gotti is a sweet, calm companion who enjoys the simple pleasures in life—a cozy dog bed and short outdoor strolls. He’s a quiet guy, seldom barking, with the laid-back demeanor of a Basset Hound. Recently neutered, heartworm negative, fully vetted, and both house- and crate-trained, Gotti is ready to become someone’s loyal friend. He’s great with other dogs, and though he’s gentle around children, his size makes him best suited to a home without kids. Gotti needs a person or couple who can give him all the love and attention he’s missed. If you’re ready to bring home a big-hearted companion, Gotti is here to add joy to your life. His adoption fee is $125. https://chloespetrescue.org/application

Story
COURTESY POST: Meet Rocky. He is a sweet boy who has been with his current caretakers for a long time. Rocky is a social butterfly and loves the company of cats, kids, and other dogs. He is currently in boarding and desperately needs a foster home or an adopter. Rocky is fully vetted and ready to go to his new home. Please consider giving Rocky a loving home. Rocky is about 4 years old and weighs 65 pounds. Please note that we don't recommend Rocky to families with children under 5. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Story
Meet sweet Lila! She is about 6 months old and a mixed breed, brindle with white. We have had her in our family for about two weeks, she was a stray found by Dallas Animal Services. Lila is such a sweet pup. She gets along with other dogs as she was in a home with two other dogs and kids before we got her and currently lives with teenagers. She does bark and whine at other animals when on a leash or when seeing other animals out of the window. But she doesnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t bark at other humans while walking on her leash or even when someone knocks on the door. Lila will cuddle up with you when tired and play with you when you are ready to play. She is still learning not to puppy bite while playing though. She has learned that â&#194&#128&#194&#156gentleâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 means donâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t bite hard. An ideal home for Lila would be one with another dog friend and a yard to lay out in. She is crate-trained and housebroken and knows the commands sit/down/stay/come. She sits and waits for her food when she knows it is coming and knows that most likely when we say â&#194&#128&#194&#156good girlâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 it means she is getting a treat. She is a quick learner and I know will get caught up on all the manners when trained! This sweet girl is deserving of the perfect furever home. Could it be with you? Apply to adopt Lila today! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Lila, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. Story
Meet the magnificent Izzy! He is an 18-month-old, 38lbs, Boxer mixed breed, with the best smile! He was rescued as a puppy with his mom and litter from a hoarding situation with dozens of other dogs. Izzy is a goofy and highly energetic pup who loves to run and play. His favorite game is tug of war. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a very â&#194&#128&#194&#156doggyâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 dog and likes all the classics- sticks, bones, and balls! He gets along with other dogs and currently lives with a dog and several cats. He loves having a friend to play with but is too excitable for most kitties. Izzy likes to cuddle up with his humans on the couch while chewing his bone. An ideal home for Izzy would be one with another dog and big backyard. Izzy is crate-trained, and very food motivated to learn new commands. He is one smart pup! He knows what he wants and how to get it, even if he doesnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t always realize thereâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a wall or glass door in his way!
