Story
Meet Buddy...💔 Buddy’s journey began in a place no dog should ever know. He was chained outside and spent every day in a kennel, never knowing the comfort of a warm bed or the joy of running free. But that’s not the end of his story. At Nashville Humane, we’re still getting to know Buddy, and each day we discover a little more about the love he has to offer. While he may get very excited to meet you, he’s working on walking with a toy to help his leash manners, learning how to relax and do simply nothing, as well as burning off energy with his favorite game, FETCH! Despite the hardships he’s faced, his heart is pure, and he’s ready to be a loyal companion to the person willing to give him a chance. Buddy is ready to show you how much he can love, how much joy he can bring, and how much he deserves a family who will never let him down.

Story
Meet Leonidas!  Hi! My name is Leonidas, but all my friends call me Leo. I'm kind of a celebrity around here, but don't worry, it still hasn't gone to my head. I am one of the longest residents here at the Humane Society, I've been in their care since August of 2021. I'm an American Bulldog mix, and the birthday they helped me choose is 08/19/2016. Now that I've got the boring stuff out of the way, let me tell you about me! If you'll indulge me in bragging for a moment, I'll tell you I am one of the BEST huggers you will ever meet. I have never met someone who didn't melt right in my paws. If you give the right first impression, good luck stopping me from giving you a snuggle. I love a good treat, I mean who doesn't? My friends have taught me a lot of basic commands, and if you give me a reward or use a clicker I will listen for sure. I'm also a sucker for a good chew toy. Rubber balls and hard toys are my absolute favorite! My friends like to give me Kongs filled with peanut butter, and I can't get enough of those. I could chew on a good toy for hours, honestly! A couple of things you should know about me are my HUGE fear of storms, for one. Way back before I lived at the shelter, I was shot in the shoulder area and the thunder just reminds me of that way too much. I'm fine now from the gunshot, though, not even a scar! I also want to be the only pet in the home. Other dogs and cats are fun to think about, but I don't actually want to be anywhere near them. I think kids are pretty fun! I love to give them big hugs and kisses, but they should be old enough to understand my boundaries. I can get a nervous if you hold me too firmly, and I know some really little ones don't understand that yet.  Leo is fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped. His adoption fee has been sponsored!  Interested? Call us at 615-446-7387 to get any additional information, or to set up an appointment to come and meet him.  ##1190205##

Story
Vito (M) and Donna (F) are bonded litter mates that shall only be adopted together. They are American Bullies, independent with no behavioral issues and are both approximately 70 lbs. each. Donna is spayed but Vito is intact (not neutered) due to a heart murmur that he takes daily medication for ($30.00 for a 90 day supply). It doesn't effect his daily life and the vet says that it may never. I rescued them from a very bad situation where they were caged most of the day. Donna is definitely the alfa and really enjoys her chew toys. Vito is a more laid back big lap dog and is content just sitting with his human receiving pets. They are definitely inside house dogs that need the interaction of a family. They are social and enjoy playing with other dogs and cats. Both are responsive to commands and have a sweet and loving dispositions.

Meet Ford, a remarkable Bulldog whose presence is as powerful and steadfast as a mighty river. Just like the characteristics of his breed, Ford embodies kindness and courage, showcasing a unique blend of friendliness and dignity. Now you may not see it by looking into his gorgeous brown eyes, but Ford has suffered in his short life.... he came to the rescue from the streets with a HORRIFIC hernia on his back end, near his rectum. He required two surgeries to correct the hernia and allow him to have a normal life again. He came through with SHINING colors ;) With his well-muscled frame and low-slung stature, Ford is the epitome of a true bruiser, but it's his iconic "sourmug" face that represents his unwavering courage and tenacity. Despite his robust appearance, Ford is a docile and loyal companion, adapting seamlessly to any environment, be it the bustling city or the serene countryside. With Ford by your side, you'll experience the unwavering devotion and unmistakable presence of a Bulldog, a breed that leaves an indelible mark on your heart. Don't miss the opportunity to welcome this incredible Bulldog into your life, as Ford's unique spirit will bring joy, love, and an unmistakable charm that only he can deliver. Some basic information about Ford; he is male, a Bulldog mix, and is medium-sized (20-59lbs). Ford is not great with other dogs (or cats or other critters) and would be best in a home with either only adults or older children and as a single dog. But his heart will fill your home with all the love you need!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Meet Gayle, a 3-year-old female American Bulldog mix with a stunning apricot and white bicolor coat. Gayle is a high-energy pup who loves spending time with people. She's incredibly friendly and cuddly, always eager to share affection. While Gayle enjoys the company of people, she can be selective with other dogs and might need a patient and experienced owner who can help her navigate her interactions. She's a bit anxious and defensive around other dogs, but with slow exposure and gentle guidance, she has the potential to adjust and become more comfortable over time. We suggest a single dog home for Gayle. If you're an experienced dog owner looking for a loving and energetic companion, Gayle could be the perfect addition to your family. With a little time and patience, she's sure to become a loyal and devoted friend. Come meet Gayle and see if you can be the one to provide her with a forever home filled with love and understanding. Bravo is my name, now that indicates two things- either, BRAVO!!! Great dog!! OR, Bravo that comes after Alpha and before Charlie. Phonetically speaking- it could be EITHER! I hail from the great city of Laredo, via the high kill pound they have. I did arrive at the rescue with my buddies Alpha and Charlie. Those two are LONG ago adopted, and I am STILL waiting! You know, it is ok because I need a very very special family and will wait for that family to come along... I am a nervous boy at first so will need a family who will give me time to get comfortable and play, I need a buddy to play with, a happy and outgoing, confident pup or dog. I have all kinds of fun to live, I have come SO far, now just need the right home to be my goofy and silly self. I will entertain you and give butterfly kisses to the best family EVER!! So hurry up and adopt me, I don't want to wait a SECOND LONGER!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)
