Story
Petey is one of four angels rescued from a bad situation and ready to live the life he deserves! All lived their entire lives on a chain, and a very heavy one at that. No one deserves that. Especially not these sweet souls. They are all very sweet, very loving and very forgiving. If only humans could be more like dogs, the world would be a better place! Petey is an enthusiastic character who needs a home of his own. A home filled with love and without chains. A warm bed instead of the cold ground. And a place where he can feel safe and secure. Petey is a 4 year old 35 lb American Bulldog/Heeler mix with a lot of energy to run and play…something he has never been able to do. He is neutered, UTD on vaccinations and preventatives. Unfortunately Petey tested positive for heartworm but has already started treatment, with vet costs for treatment covered by AC ARF. We REALLY need to find a foster or an adopter for Petey as soon as possible! He is currently in boarding and needs a home where he can finally learn what it’s like to have a family. Where he can learn how to be an inside dog. Where he can find himself and blossom! Please message us or contact Katrina at 865-414-2491 to learn more and/or to set up a meeting with Petey.

Story
Cookie is a four year old, American bulldog mix. She is a LOVER of all humans and cookies! She is a thicker girl at 75lbs. She came to us from Anderson County Animal Shelter with a huge mammary tumor. She has completed one surgery successfully and has another in a few weeks. We would love to find her a foster home or foster to adopt home that would be able to provide the loving care that she needs. She does very well crated and has incredible house manners. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a car. She does not like cats and prefers to be the only dog. Please email us if you are interested in giving Cookie some love and attention while she heals!

Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  *Due to rescuer being very ill, all her dogs are in desperate need!!!   Meatball puts the M in front of HUNK! This big ball of bulldog love is ready to plow right into your couch (and your heart). Meatball loves to flop around in the water and bask in the morning sun. He sticks to his routine and struts his stuff on the way out the door with more personality than you’ve seen in most people! Meatball found himself in a new exciting place when his owner needed a dog sitter while going out of town but he loved watching the pigs and splashing in the puddles at the ranch so much he couldn’t be convinced to leave! He loves everybody but does enjoy leaning on and hugging his pals, so he would do best in a home that doesn’t have small children or older family members. Meatball is just an all around happy guy that is searching for his forever. A good balance between quiet couch potato-ing and long walks with a harness and some guidance (or anything to splash around in) is all you need to keep this Meatball happy! *Guest Posting If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you can't get it to work, let us know and we will send it to you in a different format. Adoption fee $150.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. November 1, 2024, 8:13 pm
