Story

Our sweet boy, Jupiter is about 7-8 years old. He is one LAZY baby!! He is a big softy and loves to cuddle on the couch. He ONLY BARKS when he wants something, which is usually to go outside to potty, eat dinner, or wants water. We adopted Jupiter 6 years ago from the Charleston Animal Society and he was such a blessing to me and my first son. However, since our family has grown (+2 more kiddos) we are just not able to give him the attention he deserves. He is a very independent fur baby, meaning he likes to hang out more with himself and sleep all day. He is great around older children, who don't want to pull on his ears and doesn't mind too much of our 1-year old to hang out with him, but he prefers to be left alone. We would love if he could go to a home with older children or a family with no children. Jupiter is a great family dog with children over the age of 4-5 years. He is great with MALE dogs only. We do have another dog up for adoption as well and he is included in pic.

This big boy is Harley. Harley was abandoned by his owners and left tied to a tree. Despite his former rough life, he is a playful guy that loves to play tug-o-war and snuggle for a nap. Harley knows basic commands such as sit, stay, shake and lay down. He is also house and crate trained. Harley would be need to be in a home where he is the only pet. Semper is a purebred 5yo American Bulldog-pit bull mix. We love him more than words can say but with our new baby we aren’t able to give him the attention he deserves and while he’s been good with the baby we still don’t feel 100% comfortable having large dogs while our son grows up. Semper is a giant sweetheart to everyone and a big mamas boy. His only shortcomings are that he doesn’t have the best obedience training and can jump when excited and pulls a lot on walks. He also has hip dysplasia and mild arthritis which doesn’t affect him too much except he takes a daily pill. Semper is not fixed as we were planning on breeding him but the vet recommended that he doesn’t breed because puppies would likely have the same hip problems. Semper has no problem with female dogs but has had issues with male dogs only if they try to show dominance. We aren’t asking any money for him, just a loving home. It would mean a lot to me if his new owners would allow me to remain in contact with them.

This old man is a sweet fellow. He has a lot going on medically since he has so many years under his belt. He is intact and we will not be having him sterilized due to his advanced age. He has done well with people and other dogs here at the sanctuary.
