PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.'I like big MUTTS and i can not lie!' Mr. Biggs is estimated to be 2 years old and weighs 75 pounds. He is very sweet and wants to please. We believe he is American Bulldog. He does well around other dogs but would probably do best in a home with calm dogs and not pushy ones. He can be cat tested if needed. He does like to look at cats out the window and seems really interested like he might want to chase one. He is laid back and likes to just chill on his dog bed but can also get playful every once in a while. He loves food and would probably do anything for food. He has the most adorable squishy face and the best facial expressions. Loves to be pet and loved on. He is crate trained and has only had a couple of accidents in the house when not in the crate. He is good about giving a little bark when he needs to go out. He walks very well on leash, and he LOVES to go for car rides. This guy never meets a stranger- he is all butt wiggles, tail wags, and slobbery kisses for everyone he meets. Mr. Biggs was rescued off of a busy interstate where he was scrounging for food. We have searched for his home to no avail. He had no collar or identification and no microchip. We have had him fully vetted (vaccs, heartworm negative, neutered, microchipped, etc.)Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. Story
Meet our local celebrity, Dora the Explorer! Dora is around 3 years old and she weighs around 58 lbs. Dora was spotted for over 1 year traveling a wide area and numerous concerned citizens became concerned that Dora had lost her way and her family. A group of volunteers made it their mission to rescue Dora. After being caught it was evident that at some point she had a family that loved her because she knew many commands and was proving to be a very intelligent girl. Dora is very playful. She bonds to her humans very quickly and would just love to be a couch potato when she is not out in the yard entertaining herself or having fun playing fetch. Her foster family has several older dogs and Dora seems fine with them, however, Dora would do great as well, as a single dog family because she loves her people! Any questions about her can be answered by her foster mom and we can put you in touch with her. Dora is ready to travel when the perfect home is found for her. Aly is looking for a new home to live her life out in, where she will be the only dog. For some reason she seems to get jealous with another dog in the home the behavioralist can not seem to figure out why she has become like this in the past 4 months. She is an awesome gal as long as she is the only dog in the house. She has been trained and is house trained, potty trained, crate trained, will sit, and other basic commands, walks well on a leash (passes dogs ok w/treats), a 62lb love bug, a cuddler, loves to go on car rides, plays well by herself in the fenced in yard, loves people and very affectionate. She is up to date on her vaccines and preventatives. She is also microchipped. If you think she would make a good addition to your family and you have an approved application with Homeward Bound Animal Rescue please reach out to the following email cheriisles@gmail.com and list a little about your family and day to day activities. Story
Meet Bruno! This delicious ham sandwich is a 2 year old, approx 55lb English Bulldog that came to us by way of ACCT Philly in early August. Found as a stray dragging his leash, no one ever came to claim him. Bruno had a gnarly skin infection and came down with the ACCT URI. He's since recovered from both and ready to find his people. Bruno is a super sweet, happy go lucky guy who listens well for the most part. He loves other dogs and he's GREAT at entertaining himself. Give him a ball or a nylabone and he's good for hours! He knows basic commands, has wonderful recall, is crate trained and housebroken. He's dog friendly but can be humpy in the beginning. No little dogs for him as he is blissfully unaware of his size and strength. He's a silly goof who likes to throw himself around - bowling over everything in his path. With all of that said, Bruno does need an experienced adopter. Someone who will continue to work with him on boundaries. Bruno is a great little boy until he's not. He needs a family who understands how to redirect him when he's being naughty (ie being a bulldog). He can be inappropriately mouthy at times but NOT aggressive. For this reason, we're suggesting an adult only home or one with kids 12 and older. Bruno spent time with one of our trainers and he did very well. He has finally learned "drop it and has generally slowed down a lot. Overall he has learned to make better choices or maybe just has better instincts now (?). (Thanks, Jess!) If his forever family is local to Philly, he will come with one free training session! If you're an experienced bully owner and think this ham steak would be a great addition to your family, please visit our website today to submit an application zoeshouserescue.com Bruno is currently being fostered in Levittown, PA. A separate meet and greet with all family members and resident pets is required prior to final approval. Bruno is microchipped, UTD on vaccines, neutered and on flea/tick/hw preventatives. Meet Max! Sadly his family could no longer care for him anymore , he would do best in an active home as he is full of energy! He is sweet as can be and seems to like the other dogs! Maxs dad said he did like cats while in his care so if you have kitties he would get along with them just fine!
