Story
Blue/Orange—12+ Kids, Dog by Dog (Opp. Sex), No CatsAzalea is quite a little dynamo who knows her own mind and doesn`t let anything stand in her way. She loves squeaky toys and balls but you will have to trade to get the toy back from her. She may get along with a non-dominant male dog, but would probably require multiple meets. Azalea is not a fan of being touched when eating nor having anyone try to touch her food. She does take treats respectfully. For more resources to help with at any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDTBureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617

Story
Blue—14+ Kids (People Selective), Dog by DogBowser was excited to get out of the kennel. Once leashed he jumped on the handler then tried to pull to go outside. He`s a tank on a leash and cared more about sniffing the environment then listening to the handler—you can capture his attention though and he will redirect his focus. He stopped eating to see why we were petting him, and he ate faster when we tried to take the food bowl. No other guarding warnings presented. Dog interaction was a little forward and rude to start but would appease at the opposing dog’s request. He would try to initiate play again with or without a correction from the dog. Did well with both sexes. He greets to investigate person, if he’s unsure he backs up with a quick wagging tail, low growl, and deep quick warning barks; gains space and keeps person in front of him. Bowser needs a slow introduction and treat/retreat game to warm up to people. Once he knows you, you can handle him in every way—he enjoys it and initiates more contact. For more resources to help with at any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDTBureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617

Story
Blue—14+ Kids, Dog by Dog**Due to Sean needing neutered, his adoption will not be finalized until on or after: TBDSean was very pushy to get out of the kennel; jumping, pawing, barking, and licking. Sean is not used to a collar or leash pressure, he was on the brink of panic twice. He tolerated head, neck, ribs, and front paw handling, hind end and tail startled him into a jump away. With too much head/neck petting and he started to pull away and lick the handler`s hand. He doesn`t want to put the back of his head towards the handler. Sean leaned into the handler, but then would spontaneously jump into their face the next moment out of over-arousal. He chased the tennis ball but had no real interest in any of the toys. He took a redirection from peeing on a chair but didn`t redirect when jumping up to reach onto the counter holding the food. He waited to disengage with the food bowl until she saw it was empty, he didn`t show any signs of guarding food, he was more concerned with being touched while he was eating. Sean greeted the stranger appropriately and did good with his greeting other than the head on approach. For more resources to help with at any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDTBureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617

Story
Blue—6+ Kids, Dog by DogRollie is an excited boy. He could use some leash manners—he doesn`t pull but he jumped up/body slammed the handler, in general handling amped him up. He loves to play but he doesn`t know how to play by himself. Rollie did well with humans interacting with him and his food. He does not like being in his kennel. We suggest medication at this time; super anxious and possible separation anxiety. He needs a lot of mental exercise to bring down some of his anxiety. Rollie did very well with the dog to dog introduction. He had an appropriate initiation of play behaviors, can get rude quickly with his energy. For more resources to help with at any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDTBureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617

Story
Yellow/Blue—12+ Kid by Kid, Dog by DogJoch was nervous at first about getting out of his kennel. He just sat and pushed the handler‘s hand out of the way. The sound inside was too much. He shut down. Getting him out from the outside was much more accessible. He gave up his side, allowed the leash to be attached, and then wanted to bolt. He can pull on a leash when he wants something. Joch is fearful/nervous when greeting new people, but once he investigates you, he loosens up. Once you start to rub him, He doesn’t want you to stop. He likes to body rub you for more attention. Joch has a few tender spots from fleas and other handling issues. He showed interest in a giant tennis ball and a rope but wasn’t sure how to play with it. He is reserved with new objects. He needs to be coaxed to check things out that startle him. Joch showed no offensive behavior with resource guarding. He stiffened and lip-curled slightly, looked away from you, and did a little body blocking, putting himself between you and his food bowl. We introduced him to be a neutral dog, and he was over-aroused with excitement and clawed at the floor to get to the dog, which is a rude approach. He could be redirected, but only for a few seconds. Then, he would return to being pushy and trying to get his smells and licks in. The neutral dog gave him two corrections, and he immediately stopped what he was doing for about 10 seconds and returned to the previous behavior. Overall, Joch is sweet and wants attention but is very nervous about where he is.For more resources to help with any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDTBureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.COURTESY POST   Lilly finds herself needing a family to call her own.   She is about 4 years old.  She is a sweet, quiet girl who loves to play ball and go for car rides.  She was tested with another younger dog and did fine with him.  Her caretaker has not tested her with cats.  She appears to be an American Bulldog/Mix.    She is a bit chunky but she walks nicely on a leash so her weight could change with regular exercise.  Lilly is a velcro dog and chooses to be with her 'person'.   Her caretaker is looking for a home that will be kind to her as she does show signs that she has been mistreated in the past.   Althought Lilly is not in our program, we've agreed to help her caretaker by courtesy posting.  If you are interested in Lilly, please fill out an application and we will forward it to her caretaker.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet. Applications are the first step in the adoption process. Please do not call or email simply to express interest. We are all volunteers and receiving your application saves us time and helps to determine the best match for both people and dogs.  We provide as much information as we currently have on each dog in their description. For questions on the adoption process, including fees, please review the Adoption page. If you have additional questions or are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application. Once we receive your application someone will be in touch to answer your questions. We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.  Thank you!November 5, 2024, 11:59 am
