Story
Dot was surrendered to the shelter when her owner could no longer care for her. The day after her arrival Dot had 6 puppies (which are all in their Foster to Adopt homes now). She was a very good mother and is now ready to be someone`s baby! She loves attention and enjoys going on walks, especially going out to the play yard to play! She weighs in at 21 pounds and is a French Bulldog/ Australian shepherd mix. Dot does bark at new people but does accept their presence quickly, more so when treats are involved! Dot did live with other dogs and does not seem to mind sharing her space with them. She has also been around older children and has done well with them. Dot would love to find her loving forever home soon! She has been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/lyme tested, and microchipped since her arrival at the shelter.Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter5051 Letterkenny Road WestChambersburg, PA 17201Kennel License #2090

Story
Pax came to us from a multiple-dog family, so he is good with other dogs. He's also great with the children in his foster home. He's looking for a forever home . . . how about yours? He is food motivated and an enthusiastic student when training. He rides comfortably in a car, is house trained, crate trained and leash trained. He has been surrounded by a loving foster family but his public exposure has been limited. Obedience classes would be great once he's comfortable in a new environment. They would reinforce the training he's had, and would widen his world, showing him unknown humans are a source of positive attention and rewards. Story
Gus is the bestest Boxer mix we’ve ever seen 💙 He loves other dogs & all humans. Homes with tiny humans may not be the best fit as Gus has a lot of playful energy. He’s such a happy, goofy, bouncy sweetheart of a dog. He needs an active family & a fenced in yard would make their life so much easier. He’s happy to sit and look at you with those big, sad, brown eyes and get all the pets you can give, but he’ll probably jump for pure joy as soon as you stop. This dog has a lot of love to give & he gives it freely. Gus loves to ride in the car, play at the dog park, take long walks (he is very good on the leash), meet new people and dogs, and is good with cats. He also loves to splash in the lake. This guy is the real deal - an awesome companion!FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
Hello, I'm Monique! Now, don't let my name fool you, I'm a boy. Quite the goofball, if I do say so myself. I ended up here at the shelter after a hilarious mix-up. I was playing fetch with my human, and when I went to retrieve the ball, I got distracted by a squirrel. I chased it, ended up lost, and voila! Here I am. I'm a bit shy at first, but once we get to know each other, you'll see my playful side. I'm like a puppy version of a stand-up comedian. I promise to fill your life with laughter, love, and endless games of fetch. Adopt me, let's make our own fun stories!

Story
Afina is a lovable pocket pittie who finds herself in a rescue shelter due to her owner's divorce. Despite the heartbreaking circumstances, she remains sweet and affectionate towards everyone she meets. However, she can also be quite stubborn at times, typical of her breed. Her stocky build gives her a strong and sturdy appearance, although she could benefit from losing a few pounds. One of Afina's favorite activities is going on walks, where she can explore her surroundings. She is also a well-behaved dog who is house-broken, making her the perfect addition to any loving home. Despite her current situation, Afina has so much love to give and is eagerly waiting for a new forever home where she can be showered with the love and attention she deserves. This dog is sheltered in a foster based, nonprofit rescue. The Adoption Fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea, Tick and Heartworm Treatment and Prevention, and Sheltering. Story
Aries was surrendered to the shelter when his owner could no longer keep him due to landlord issues. He is around a year old and weighs 53 pounds. Aries needed some time to adjust to shelter life but has come out of his shell and enjoys treats and going on walks! He is a shy at first with new people, but treats are the key to his heart! Aires knows sit but will need some work on other commands. He is a sweet guy that would love to have a second chance at finding a loving forever home! Aries has lived with children but may be too much for small children so an age restriction for children in the home may apply, please discuss this with shelter staff. Aries has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/lyme tested, and microchipped since his arrival at the shelter. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application Brief Description: This is "Pudge." What you see is what you get...easy going, calm, well...lazy. :) Likes: Being a couch potato, chewing on Nylabones, eating, sleeping...he's a guy with simple pleasures. Dislikes: Having is nails clipped. Having to wait more than 30 seconds for his food when it's being prepared. Personality: Calm. Chill. Quiet (except when food is being prepared for him). Can be stubborn! Temperament: Laid back. Not much upsets or excites Pudge. Energy level: None. Favorite activities: EATING! Watching TV on the couch with his human while he chews a bone. Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Cats: unknown; Dogs: great - no issues; Kids: unknown but suspect he would be absolutely fine. Haven't found anything so far Pudge isn't good with. He doesn't particularly care to have his nails clipped or baths but he tolerates both. House trained: Working on it and making good progress. It is uncertain where Pudge came from and/or if he's ever been house trained so, therefore, he was started from scratch and he's come a long way. With a consistent schedule and time to adjust he should do well. Crate trained: YES! Pudge loves his crate. Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence?): No. Walks well on a leash?: When he wants to. Pudge doesn't pull or fight. He just won't walk with his human if it's not where he wants to go. Been working on that and he's doing much better. Challenges: Getting him to socialize more with people and pets. Pudge mostly keeps to himself. He is starting to make attempts to play with the other dogs and humans here and there but needs encouragement. Pudge will need lots of encouragement to get any exercise. Any medical issues?:  Pudge is currently being treated for a persistent skin infection secondary to suspected allergies. He is much improved from when he first arrived. Pudge has recovered well from recent bilateral entropion. Eye irritation and drainage is markedly decreased since the surgery. Pudge has been on a long-term antibiotic treatment and, as a result, he has been having persistent soft stools, however, it's been controlled with feeding Science Diet I/D food and Pepto-Bismol. What would be the best kind of home?:  Pudge would be perfectly happy to be an only dog getting all the attention lavished upon him; however, he is also fine with the other dogs in the household. Pudge is ideal for someone who wants a calm, easy going companion. He is not a hiking, running, or hunting dog by any means.  Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed.
