Story
Hello! My name is Koby!I`m a loving guy who enjoys a good walk and snuggle with my human. I do have a woof that I share when I see new people that I`m feeling a bit unsure about. I am eager to join a home with gentle humans who will help me learn that new people are fun and not scary. I`m a big teddy bear and have asked my GHS friends to find me a home with a cushy spot on the couch for me!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: No, I would do best in an adult-only home.OTHER DOGS: Potentially, I might do better with a female, and they would definitely have to be a dog who is well-socialized with other dogs.CATS: Potentially, with a cat confident around dogs. FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I would do best with someone who has previous dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Recommended.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings as unfamiliar people can make me nervous.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium. HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the `adopt me` button to apply!

Story
Daisy is an incredibly sweet 5-year-old American Bulldog mix in urgent need of a foster or foster - to - adopt  home .   She's super cuddly and has a confident, go-with-the-flow personality  - really unfazed by things happening around her and just happy to be doing whatever she's doing.  She's also very smart and eager to learn new things.  Unfortunately, the resident dog in her current placement is not adjusting well to having a second dog in the house. She spent two years in a shelter previously and we are desperate to find her a foster or foster-to-adopt home so she doesn't have to go back to the shelter.   A few of  Daisy's f avourite things: - sniffing things on walks -   playing tug -   cuddling close -   going on  " adventures "  in the car   She does   well with dogs but is untested with cats.    She walks pretty well on a leash and mostly just wants to sniff things. She is indifferent to people passing by on walks. If someone approaches, she likes to give them a nice sniff and then goes about whatever she is doing. The same goes for dogs; she'll greet them if they're interested but ignore them if they're not.   Crate training is in progress.  Within one day of training, she felt comfortable sleeping in the crate with the door open.   Due to her prolonged stay in a shelter, she struggles with short bursts of overarousal. With training, she's improving significantly.  She needs a foster or foster-to-adopt where she can continue to decompress  and receive training and guidance.   Breed:  American Bulldog Mix Weight: ~ 60lbs Gender:  female Spayed/neutered: Spayed Age: ~ 5  yrs Up to Date with Vetting:  yes Good with dogs:  yes Good with cats:  untested Good with kids:  Unknown, probably best in a home with no kids. Dog-savvy teenagers would be fine Good with strangers: Yes Resource guarding issues:  None with food. In the shelter, she was protective of toys when she thought they were being taken from her. This hasn't been observed in a home environment Ever bitten a human: No Ever bitten a dog: No Fears:  None observed Housetrained: Yes Crate trained:  in progress Good in the car: Yes , gets excited for car rides Bark when left alone: No Destructive:  Can be with soft toys; does best with tough toys Energy Level: Medium  - She likes going for walks but also likes several midday snoozes. Leash skills: Pulls  a bit to get to desired sniff spot but generally good Okay with physical handling/manipulations:  Some nervousness with vets but good with foster parents Known commands: Sit, stay , down, off Food on now:  Purina HA. Food/treats will be provided while she's in foster/foster-to-adopt.    November 12, 2024, 1:36 pm

Story
Hanky Panky is our shelter goof ball! Big, Strong, Clumbsy, Highly Active, Playful, Foodie ... these are all terms that fits perfectly for Hank! Hank arrived to our shelter as a stray and so his history is a little unclear. While he has been staying with us we find Hank to be an Adult that hasn`t outgrown his puppy behaviour quite yet! You can often find Hank in the park running around, playing fetch, tug-o-war or simply just seeking some affection. He loves to be by your side and if treats are involved - He`s in! Hank loves to make friends, but is shy at first. He does take a few moments and yummy treats to open him up and taking that step to becoming your best friend. Once he feels safe, you`ll see him bounce off the walls for you to show how much your friendship means to him! Training is a work in progress and will require ongoing work with basic training and manners, as well as socialization. Hank would do best in a home with experienced owners who are comfortable with training a strong boy and an understanding of behavioural cues. He would also do best as the only pet in the home at this time. If you`re ready for our goof Hank please contact Toronto Animal Services - West Shelter at 416-338-6271 to start the adoption process.

Story
Scooby Dooby Doo, Where are you??He`s right here at Toronto Animal Services West Region as a matter of fact! This charming, active and goofy young boy brings all the fun, thrills and excitement of his namesake cartoon character. So be prepared for unexpected adventures around every corner!Mr Scoob LOVES to be around his people; whether it`s going for a nice long walk, engaging in a wrestling match, playing a game of fetch or tug in the park, or having a snooze in front of the TV. He`s gonna be your new best friend!A typical Bully-breed dog through and through, Scoob thinks nothing of leaping up into your lap and smothering you with sloppy kisses. His enthusiasm and zest for life is evident in the way he eagerly drags us out to the park every time we walk, and how he jumps up to greet everyone he encounters.Family`s with young children may find him a bit too boisterous. Though he has not met a doggie playmate here at the shelter, we feel a nice careful introduction to other well-mannered dogs may result in an excellent play session. When it comes to cats - we have no idea how that may pan out.Scoob is a little on the lean side, and could benefit from putting on a couple pounds. Scoob was recently neutered and is still recovering. He is currently wearing a satellite dish (much to his displeasure) to speed up recovery time! For more information on Scoob`s quirks and charms, and to learn about our adoption process, please contact our West Region shelter at 416-338-PAWS (7297). We are open from 10:30AM to 6:30PM!

Story
Mocha is a sweet, timid, and loyal companion who has become deeply loved in our home. However, due to an unexpected family emergency, I will be out of the country for 5-6 months, with no reliable support system to care for her in my absence. I am left with no other option but to find her a new, suitable home. Mocha has a unique personality; she’s a sensitive soul with a gentle, curious spirit. Though she has made progress, she struggles with anxiety, especially around loud city noises like cars, sirens, and sudden bangs, which can make urban environments challenging for her. Mocha is much more comfortable in quieter settings where she can feel more at ease. She is also wonderfully behaved in the home—she isn’t much of a barker. Mocha is good with smaller dogs, as she was raised alongside a small Maltese, and she shows curiosity rather than aggression around cats. With larger dogs, she may need a gradual introduction under the guidance of a handler, as she tends to be more cautious.
