Story
Dak / Neutered Male / 2.5 Years / 75lbs / Coonhound x American Bulldog / Dogs: Yes / Cats: No / Kids: 13+ / Location: Brampton 📍 ADOPTION FEE LOWERED $375 This handsome, high energy dork is full of life (and beans) and absolutely thrives on human connection and active days. Dak has so much love, enthusiasm, and goofy charm to give, and he’s looking for an active household with the time, patience, and energy to keep up with him. He’s a quick learner, food motivated, and genuinely wants to please. He’s starting to understand what’s expected of him, including boundaries. He’s house trained and loves his crate. For Dak, the “tired dog, happy dog” mantra couldn’t be more true. When he gets enough exercise (2–3 hours per day), he’s at his absolute best. If his needs aren’t fully met, he can become restless and have trouble settling, often seeking extra attention or stimulation until he’s had a proper outlet for his energy. If you’re a hiker, he’d be thrilled to join you. Dak is big, strong, and full of enthusiasm. He can jump when over stimulated, and due to his strength, we’re searching for a home without young kids. He would love to have a dog friend at home, but no cats, his hound nose makes him far too excited about a good chase. And speaking of that hound nose… if there’s food within reach, Dak will absolutely try to find it. Counters, bags, pockets, if it smells good, he’ll investigate, so a home that’s mindful about food management will set him up for success. Dak is genuinely great with other dogs and enjoys their company. He sometimes forgets just how big and strong he is, especially during play, but he means well and responds to guidance. With continued structure and positive experiences, he’ll keep building confidence and manners. Dak is up to date on all vetting. He is located currently in Brampton. Special thanks again to Happy Paws Pet Studio for his professional photos! Apply to adopt! https://forms.gle/2gGkAccScHgLEtyJ7

Story
A soft-hearted sweetheart bursting with life, joy, and love, Honey is the kind of dog who will quietly steal your heart and never give it back. This three and half year-old lab cross' happy spirit shines through in everything she does, from her enthusiastic sniff-filled adventures to the way she lights up around her favourite people. In the home, Honey is an absolute dream. She’s calm, affectionate, beautifully behaved, and a total crate superstar. She settles easily, loves being near her people, and has that comforting, gentle presence that makes a house feel more like home. Out in the world, Honey’s happiest place is a quiet park with plenty of room to roam, sniff, and explore at her own pace. Give her open space, a peaceful trail, or a calm suburban stroll, and you’ll see her relaxed, engaged, and happily trotting alongside you with her curious nose to the ground. Watching Honey enjoy the simple things in life like soft grass, fresh air, and a good sniffing route is pure happiness. Honey is a sensitive girl, and busy streets full of noise, traffic, bikes, and close-up dogs can feel overstimulating for her. Because of this, she’s looking for a patient, dog-savvy adopter who lives in a quieter suburban or country setting and can help her manage her leash reactivity. The beautiful thing? Through it all, her love for people never wavers. Her temperament with humans is truly exceptional as she is sweet, trusting, affectionate, and full of heart. Honey doesn’t need a perfect home, but she does need one where close encounters with the canine kind will be minimal. In return, Honey promises unwavering loyalty, joyful adventures, endless cuddles, and the kind of love that feels extra special because it’s been earned. Story
Another bright star from our constellation-themed litter of seven, Dorado is ready to chart a course straight into your heart. He came into the shelter with his mom (a Malinois mix) and his littermates. With a mix of looks across the litter — some bully-type, some boxer-like, even a few fluffier siblings, Dorado brings his own unique style to this cosmic crew. At just 2 months old, Dorado is already a confident, go-all-in kind of puppy. He isn’t afraid of anything and lives life at full speed — running, rumbling, and playing hard before happily seeking out affection and attention from his people. He’s outgoing, stable during handling, and thrives on interaction, making him a fun and engaging companion for someone ready to keep up with him. Dorado is both food motivated and toy motivated, which is a dream combination for training. Whether you’re working with treats or a favorite tug toy, he’s eager to learn and ready to engage. With consistency and positive reinforcement, he has excellent potential to grow into a well-trained and responsive adult. That said, Dorado is not a low-maintenance puppy. With his Malinois mix background, adopters should expect a smart, driven, and energetic dog who will need: Daily physical exercise (not just a quick walk!) Mental enrichment like training sessions, puzzle toys, and structured play Clear structure, boundaries, and consistent expectations Early and ongoing socialization in a controlled, positive way He will do best with a confident handler who can be firm but fair, guiding him with patience and consistency while channeling his energy into appropriate outlets. Like all puppies, Dorado will also need help navigating the basics of growing up: House training and crate training will take time and routine Teething means lots of chewing—he’ll need proper outlets Puppy manners (like no jumping or nipping) will need to be taught Ongoing training is essential, especially for a strong, intelligent dog Dorado is looking for an active, patient family that understands the commitment of raising a puppy—especially one who will likely grow into a larger, powerful dog with working-breed traits. Experience with high-energy or working breeds is a bonus, but dedication to training and enrichment is a must. In return, you’ll get a loyal, playful, and driven companion who will bring energy, fun, and endless personality into your life . If you’re ready to match his pace and help guide him to become his best self, Dorado is ready to be your adventure partner. Please complete an adoption application: https://www.hamilton.ca/home-neighbourhood/animals-pets/adopt-or-foster-pet/adoptions Dorado is too young to have certain procedures done, including a neuter. His adopters must be willing to return him for this surgery, which is included in the adoption fee. Animal adoptions and viewing are by appointment only. This allows our Adoption Staff to spend quality time with each potential home to ensure the most successful matches are made between the animals and their new families. *Please note: we only adopt within Ontario

Story
Lyra’s journey may have started in uncertainty, arriving at the shelter with her mom and littermates, but everything about her points toward a bright, exciting future. This fluffy, one-of-a-kind pup—born to a Malinois mom with a mystery mix of breeds—brings together intelligence, charm, and a spark for learning that’s hard to miss. Lyra is a confident and social puppy who genuinely enjoys being around people. She seeks out affection, thrives on interaction, and already shows an impressive ability to focus once she feels comfortable. What really sets Lyra apart is her eagerness to learn. She’s highly motivated by both food and toys, making training not only effective but fun. Whether it’s basic manners, obedience classes, or even future dog sports, Lyra has the drive and enthusiasm to excel. She’s the kind of dog who will love having a “job” and a person to work alongside. She’s also wonderfully affectionate and easy to handle, taking new experiences in stride when she feels secure. That said, like any young puppy stepping into the world for the first time, Lyra may feel a little unsure in new environments. Busy streets, unfamiliar faces, and big changes can be overwhelming at first, so she’ll need a patient family committed to helping her build confidence through calm, positive experiences. Lyra will need all the usual puppy basics—house training, crate training, and guidance as she learns the rhythms of home life. The first few weeks will be an adjustment, with nighttime potty breaks and lots of new experiences, but with consistency and care, she’ll quickly start to settle in and let her playful, curious personality shine. As she grows, Lyra will benefit from a lifestyle that balances physical exercise with mental enrichment. Her intelligence and energy mean she’ll do best in a home that can keep her engaged, challenged, and included in daily activities. Lyra is a joyful, affectionate, and driven young pup who is ready to form a deep bond with her people. For an active, patient family willing to invest time in training and socialization, she’ll be more than just a pet—she’ll be a loyal partner, a playful companion, and a constant source of pride and love. Please complete an adoption application: https://www.hamilton.ca/home-neighbourhood/animals-pets/adopt-or-foster-pet/adoptions Lyra is too young to have certain procedures done, including a spay.
