Story
HERE IN CANADA COME MEET HER My granny used to look at my pretty white coat and my soft brown eyes and tell me that I was the diamond in the coal mine. "Never worry, Raye," she'd say, "with a face that pretty there's always going to be a home for you!" I sure hope granny was right, cause boy oh boy! I could use a home about now. I'm looking forward to buckling down and excelling at doggy classes and hopefully making you so proud of me, that you'll never let me go! I need a home without children and without other dogs. Name: Rayse Weight: 60 lbs Age: 3 years Gender: Female Breed: American Bulldog mix Color: White/Brown Good With Adults: People selective Good With Kids: no Good With Other Dogs: Prefers to be the only dog Good With Cats: No, she has high prey drive Housebroken: Yes Crate trained: Yes Energy Level: Medium Can be handled/touched: Yes Barker: some, when she's scared Escape Artist: Yes Food Aggressive: With other dogs Walks on Leash: Pulls Rides well in car: Yes Destructive: no Needs a home with a yard: Yes Needs a home with another dog-Prefers to be the only dog Can live in an apartment: No. Needs a fenced in yard to play in. Foster comments: She barks when she's scared, but as we've been working on her sense of security and confidence, it's happening less and less. For introductions to new adult humans, it's best if it's done outside when she isn't startled by their arrival. She warms up very quickly and is very friendly and playful. Training Update: This girl has come so far in her training and learning to trust people, she is doing basic trainingright now with one of our trainers and is doing great!! Rayse is part of our dog walking group and everyone that takes her on adventures absolutely adore her. When she is in a home she has a few fears but with a patient adopter that will show her leadership she will do very well , Rayse loves to be praised for good behavior and really wants to please . This gir has overcome some really big obstacles in the past few months and is now ready for her happy ending . She would excel in a quite home with lots of love and walks ( she loves the water ) the beach is her favorite. She is on special food which is only 60.00 for a 25lb bag and she is worth it . This girl really deserves her happy tail ending . Come meet her and lets take her for walk and you will see what all of us see!!!

Story
HERE IN CANADA COME MEET HIM Must have bulldog experience Name: Stallone (20210614-02) Weight: 70lbs Age: 4 years Gender: Male Spayed/Neutered: Neutered Breed: American Bulldog/Lab mix Colour: Black/White Neck size (for collar): medium martingale collar Chest circumference (for harness): Height (from top of head): Length (from nose to base of tail): Crate size recommended: 36” Good with women: Yes Good with men: Yes Good with kids: No Good with other dogs: No Good with cats: Lived in a home with cats, but he does chase them, never allowed it to get to the point of interaction. Dog savvy cats might be ok, but likely better in a home without cats House trained: Yes Crate trained: He needs a crate to sleep in and self soothe in. Will go in on his own but runs out if he thinks you'll close the door. Energy level: Moderate. He enjoys daily walks and outside playtime but also enjoys lounging and hanging out. Can be handled/touched: if indoors, only once he’s comfortable, then absolutely enjoys being petted. If he is anxious, he does not like being touched on his head or neck, and he will growl. Best to watch for the warning signs and only pet if he’s okay with it. If he’s outdoors, he appears more confident and is okay with being pet. Barker: He can demand bark at times when he wants to do something such as go outside or when he’s left for an extended period of time. Flight risk: No Food aggressive: No Current food: He will eat any dog food as long as it’s mixed with a little bit of wet food in the start. Slowly start to decrease wet food and he’ll start to eat the dry on its own Walks on leash: needs a front-clip harness, as does not walk well on flat collar. He’s a great walker on a front clip harness. Leash reactive to people or dogs: He gets excited to see people he knows and will bark for their attention. Reactive, no. Rides well in car: Doesn’t love the car. Barks the entire time. He has not had enough time to practice many car rides, so there’s opportunities for improvement Destructive: No. Needs a home with a yard: That would be great but we don’t believe he needs it. He enjoys walks. Needs a home with another dog: no, he should be the only dog Can live in an apartment: No. He is too vocal for an apartment or condo building Some information to note from our experiences: Stallone is incredibly affectionate, playful, and silly. He enjoys playing with toys, people, and other dogs. He was in playgroups with many other dogs and did very well. He did not appreciate a spray bottle being used on another dog and barked/growled at the lead handler in the yard. He did not progress beyond barking/growling. We would recommend training based on rewarding desired behaviors and responding to negative behaviors by removing a wanted thing rather than adding a punishment. Stallone is used to trading toys our behavior coordinator has not noticed any guarding behavior but recommends continuing the swapping/trading method for retrieving toys. Stallone enjoys chew bones, Vienna sausages (as rewards). Updated foster comments: Stallone loves to attach himself to one person and follow you everywhere. He is extremely loving to those he trusts. He'd be ideal for a couple or single person without kids. He walks amazing. He licks a lot and is so excited to see you when you come home. Though very anxious he is not destructive and just lays and waits for you to come home. Only whining for a few minutes. He plays rough with dogs but loves to play. He's a wonderful dog. Kids heighten his anxiety, so he needs a home without small kids. Whoever gets him will get a great dog.

Story
*This dog is located in the Niagara area*Apply to adopt at rebeldogrescue.com*Hey yall, Im Otis! One of my hobbies is napping, whether it be on your carpet or in your lap. I weigh 76 lbs, but weighted blankets are a thing these days right!? I love being outdoors but short walks are my thing as I get tired easily. I would like to say that Im a total love bug once I get to know you! Otis has embarked on a board & train program following minor bite incidents so that we could learn more about how we can help Otis succeed and become a well-balanced and confident dog. From Otis' trainer:After working with Otis in our board and train program we have discovered he is not an aggressive dog. Otis is nervous, sensitive and fearful. Mainly to new people and loud noises. He needs an owner who will continue his training. He has learnt place, leash walking, crate training, sit, recall, release command, waiting at thresholds and waiting for food. Otis responds well to a calm, confident leader and is already e-collar and muzzle trained! He needs someone to help with his decision making and continue to use his tools to assist him in that. He is not a high energy dog so the walks and keeping his training up is all he needs. Otis will also need an owner who advocates for him, so that means making sure not to let strangers walk up on him. He is unsure of loud noises and even the vacuum cleaner. We continue to teach Otis how to walk away when he feels nervous instead of becoming defensive. This is another example of advocating for him. His new must be stepping in when he feels nervous and getting him to a place where he feels confident and safe. Otis is looking to put his bite history in the past. We are confident with the right owner he will be successful and make a wonderful companion!Name: Otis Weight: ~76lbsAge ~6.5 yearsGender: MaleBreed: American bulldog mixColour: WhiteMedical: Skin cancer removal on genital area. Story
Zach is fostered in the Hamilton area.Apply to adopt at rebeldogrescue.com. All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website. Zach is close to as perfect as they come. We seriously could go on about him all day! He is an absolute joy to have around and will make a wonderful addition to a home. He is the perfect mix of playful and chill, and is the sweetest boy around. He is currently fostered with two dogs, similar in size to him, and has been fantastic. He wants to play from time to time, but is very respectful of giving the other dogs space when they aren't interested in a game of chase. Zach does very well in his crate, settling to sleep after some soft whining during the first few days. He has been non-reactive on walks, but does pull quite a bit, so he will need some work with this. Zach absolutely loves tennis balls, and is happiest laying on the couch getting belly rubs, while chomping down on a ball. However, he does need to be supervised with toys as he will destroy them. He loves to zoom around the backyard, and the end of the day all he wants to do is sit beside you on the couch and doze off to sleep with his head on your lap. One things to note about Zach, is that he is a bit of a chunky dude, and needs to trim down. His new family will need to work on dropping about 12-15lb to get him to a healthy weight. Name: ZachWeight: ~77lb - body score 7/9, healthy weight is ~65lbAge: 3.5 yearsGender: Male, neutered Breed: Mixed breedColour: BrownMedical: Overweight; suspected contact allergy dermatitis upon intake which has been improving Fixed: YesGood with men: YesGood with women: YesGood with kids 0-6: Unknown, no exposure, but presume yes with dog-savvy kids Good with kids 6+: Yes, but has not lived with kids Good with dogs: YesGood with cats: Unknown, no exposure House trained: YesCrate trained: Yes, settles quickly after some quiet whining and does great Resource guarding: None seen, but was previously known to guard his food from other dogs. He eats alone in his crate so cannot comment on whether he would gaurd food or not. There has been no gaurding of anything towards people. Walks on a leash: Yes, but very strong and will pullEnergy level: MediumRequires detached/single home: NoSeparation anxiety: None seen Barker: Average, but he is more of a whiner than a barker
