Story
Lunatomiti was adopted as a youngster but has found his way back to the shelter due to his active behaviour and the owners limited time to help him. He has been in one of our foster homes with experience in training their pups and has proven to be a quick study. He has lots to do and other animals to play with so at the end of the day he loves to cuddle and rest. Are you ready for the story of these young one`s lives. In eight weeks, they have been to more homes, have had meds and been fed the best however, we do hope we made up for momma dog’s attention.Mom and Babies were doing well but when pups were about 2 weeks old, mom got mastitis and was quite ill with it. 2 days after the emergency visit and keeping cabbage compresses on her, only letting 6 pups suck on mom at a time the abscesses broke open and mom had 2 holes way bigger than toonies and very deep. Cleaning, flushing, and packing, we knew we needed to keep the wounds clean and we started supplementing the babies. During this time, the male dog in the house went for neuter and 2 days later came down with kennel cough. At 4 weeks, we started vaccinating, but realized Puppies, one by one taking sick and were diagnosed with mycoplasma (pneumonia). We moved them into other foster homes, by 3 or 4 and treated with 10 days of doxy, supplementing their feeding regime with formula and they started eating Royal Canin baby dog kibble almost immediately.Once they were better, we then started to get them vaccinated, spayed/neutered and they were very ready for adoption.Their breed Mom is American Bulldog Mix, Dad is Chocolate Lab, Boxerhttps://ws.petango.com/webservices/adoptablesearch/wsAdoptableAnimalDetails2.aspx?id=2000237681&css=&authkey=y1f3e5se6ktgqh23k5g6ql7ku8loa35g27b2kugpias7o6r5a2&PopUp=true

Story
Mara is a stunning 3-year-old American Bulldog mix who recently returned to our care—and she’s been her happy, friendly self ever since! The moment she saw familiar faces, her whole body lit up. She’s been soaking up affection from staff and reminding everyone just how special she is. Mara was returned through no fault of her own. She has a high prey drive toward cats and small animals, which couldn’t be safely managed in her previous home. Because of this, Mara may need a cat-free home with no small animals. When it comes to dogs, Mara may do well with a canine companion given slow, supervised introductions. She enjoyed meeting our test dog here at the shelter, though thoughtful matching is important—especially with other dominant female dogs. This sweet girl is loving, social, and truly shines when given structure, consistency, and positive guidance. She’s smart, active, and will thrive with daily exercise and mental enrichment. Mara walks nicely on leash, and continued obedience training is highly recommended—not only to build her social skills, but also to strengthen the bond with her future family. A professional trainer who worked with Mara shared this: “She is the sweetest, softest dog on the planet. She’s extremely responsive to gentle vocal correction and truly loves positive reinforcement.” Mara can be a bit nervous at first, and may bark at strangers or other dogs, but with calm, confident guidance and proper introductions, she does wonderfully. Because of this, we believe Mara would do best in a home (not an apartment) with more space and a less busy environment to set her up for success. If you’re willing to offer patience, consistency, and love, Mara will reward you with unwavering loyalty, affection, and a truly special companionship. Could Mara be the one you’ve been waiting for? Story
Hi, I’m Lucky — thanks for coming to my interview! Interviewer: Lucky, tell us about yourself. Lucky: Great question. I’m a 2-year-old Lab / American Bully mix with lots of energy, a big personality, and an even bigger love for life. If there’s something happening, I want to be part of it. If there’s nothing happening… I can help fix that Interviewer: What’s a perfect day for you? Lucky: Adventures! Walks where I get to sniff everything, training time (especially if snacks are involved), and play sessions with my true love: tennis balls. Squeaky ones. Bouncy ones. If it squeaks and flies, I’m obsessed. Other toys? Meh. Tennis balls have my heart. Interviewer: Do you know any commands? Lucky: I do! I know sit and paw already—pretty impressive, right? I’m super food-motivated and really eager to learn more. I’ll admit, though, I can get excited and strong, especially on leash. That’s why continued obedience training is important for me. With consistency, structure, and positive reinforcement, I’m going to shine. Interviewer: What kind of home are you looking for? Lucky: An active one! I’d love a family who enjoys staying busy, going on outings, and including me in their daily routine. I need both mental and physical exercise every day to keep my energy balanced and my brain happy. Training + fun = my dream life. Interviewer: How do you feel about other dogs? Lucky: I came in with another dog, so having a canine buddy might help me burn off energy—but slow, supervised introductions are the way to go. I like thoughtful approaches. Interviewer: Anything adopters should know about your past? Lucky: I’m starting fresh. My past had some inconsistency—no real routine, not much structure, and a lot of figuring things out on my own. Things like house manners and crate training may be new to me or need a refresher. What I really need now is clear boundaries, predictable routines, and someone who knows dogs and wants to help me grow. Interviewer: Final thoughts? Lucky: I have so much potential. With the right person—someone patient, active, and excited about training—I’m going to be an incredible companion. If you’re ready to put in the time, energy, and love to help me be my best self…I just might be the girl for you Interview concluded. Tennis ball requested. Story
Welcome to Miami....is what I would say when meeting me! I am warm, super friendly and very lively. Just like the city in Florida. And since it`s a little difficult to gage my size through a picture, I am almost 47 lbs. I may be compact but there`s a lot of power in this little body. So I`d probably be better with older children, I tend to be a little too rough when excited.I would also be better off as the only pet in the house too. Not sure what I want in a dog companion, so I am described as dog selective. But with humans, love is my middle name. I am very affectionate.Don`t I sound like a wonderful companion? If so come down to London Animal Care Centre and see for yourself. You won`t be disappointed. Miami.

Story
Hi there, I’m Blizzard!I’m a friendly and affectionate boy, always happy to say hello and make new friends. Do you have any toys? I LOVE to play! I can be a bit mouthy at times, but I mean well—I just get really excited and playing with toys helps to keep my mouth busy. I’m looking for a family that’s interested in training and will help me work on things like barking at dogs when I’m on my leash and getting used to handling. Adopting me means endless love and companionship... I`m ready to be your new loyal friend!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Teenagers would be great but no young kiddos given I`m still learning not to mouth on hands.OTHER DOGS: Yes, I would love a playmate in the home! And what a great way for me to get out energy!CATS: No, I bark at cats and I don’t think your kitties would appreciate that.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: I would do best with someone who has previous dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Recommended for a safe space to run and burn energy.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings given I sometimes bark at dogs on leash.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily, though a home where I would be left for a full work day wouldn’t be the best match.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: YesIf you think I could be a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!
