Story

Meet Lizzy! Lizzy has come a long way in her foster home since coming to us. She is completely housebroken and crate trained. Her foster family have been working on more structured training over the past couple months and she has perfected the basics, and then some: sit, down, stay, drop it, leave it, wait, come here. She will do many of those with word commands, or with hand signals and no words. She has recently started learning to ring a bell on the door when she wants to go outside and she is doing it most of the time. Lizzy has learned the routine and when she sees her foster mom getting ready to leave, she goes and waits in her crate. She loves all the toys, but especially her tennis balls. She has learned to bring the ball to you, drop it and then step back and lay down while she waits for you to throw it - all without us having to say a word. And she will keep playing until you make her stop. She loves going on walks and is getting much better with not pulling on the leash. She gets very excited for car rides and does very well in the car. When it’s time to go to bed, she can’t wait to snuggle and has recently realized she’d prefer to be under the covers. She loves to be wherever we are, but she does fine at home (in her crate) during the day too. The one thing we have learned about Lizzy is that she needs to be the only pet in the home, and would do best with kids over 12. Fill out an application at www.maggiesmissionrescue.org

It was the middle of January and it was very cold. She came in very underweight and scared. After some good food and care she became healthy, and is now ready for a forever home. She loves playing with Wallace and they are scene running in and out of their house playing and barking. Oakey Dokey ❤ ❤ ❤ What a befitting nickname! This is pretty much Oakley’s attitude! He is just an easy-going dude. Car rides, walks, hikes, or even just lounging on the couch, being lazy, doing nothing, Oakley is IN! Wherever you are, he chooses to be right there with you! Oakley is fiercely loyal, and when he loves, he loves deeply. He gives you his all. Alone time? Forget it! Oakley will want to be right where you are! Always your sidekick. Be forewarned, he also has a tendency to park his almost 90lb body in your lap and do the cuddles and snuggles ❤ Oakley keeps up on walks and hikes. Don’t walk anywhere near water though, if you are not prepared for the consequences. Oakley will think nothing of jumping in the water! If there are ducks or geese, he will give chase. Oakley thinks chasing after small creatures is just the coolest thing! He will need a thorough wipe down or bath after all these adventures. You see, Oakley has a long list of allergies. Amongst them are grass and trees. Other adorable things Oakley does is bring you his favorite toys (stuffies are his favorite) and ball. He carries them around in his mouth, everywhere. He treats them like they are his babies 😊 Oakley is 4 years old, 90lb American Bulldog. Having been disappointed by humans many times, Oakley takes a little bit to warm up to strangers (treats help) but once he inducts you into his circle, you’re in for life! Oakley is looking for a semi-active family with a good blend of activities and chill time. Oakley prefers to be the only pet in the house as nothing makes him happier than to soak up all your love and attention. This kid will give back twice as much ❤
