**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Lily. I'm about 4 years old and I weigh about 83 lbs. I was found as a stray in pretty rough shape by a kind gentleman that took me in and cared for me. Soon after my arrival to his place, I gave birth to 8 puppies. He cared for us all as long as he could, then brought us in to the pound so we could be vetted and find loving families to join. Of course, puppies find homes super fast, so my babies have all been adopted, but I am still here at the pound looking for a family to join. I am a super sweet, loving and affectionate girl. I have a pretty calm demeanor for the most part, but I do get spurts of playfulness. I have been good around the other dogs that I've met here at the pound and I was an excellent mama to all of my babies, but thankfully I am now spayed, so no more baby raising for me! I am very clean in my kennel and I appear to be housebroken. If you're looking for a great dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. Meet Molly! The affectionate 7-year-old american bulldog mix with a heart of gold! Weighing in at a sturdy 71 pounds, Molly is the perfect blend of sweetness and loyalty.Molly is a sweetheart who adores nothing more than a good butt scratch. Her loving nature makes her an ideal companion for families seeking a faithful and affectionate furry friend.Molly would do well with children aged 10 years and older, creating a harmonious environment where she can share her love and affection with her human siblings.Molly does not seem to be very fond of dogs, so if there is one in her forever home they would need to be laid back and do slow introductions, however she might not mind being the only dog in her forever home.Ready to welcome the love of Molly into your life? Give us a call at 330-487-0333 ext 803 to learn more about her, let the affectionate presence of Molly fill your home with joy. Your forever friend is just a call away! #AdoptMolly #SweetBoxerMix

Story
Meet Habanero, the Sweet and Spicy American Bulldog Mix!Habanero, our charming 5-year-old pup, may start off a bit shy, but give him some time, and you`ll discover a heart of gold and a friend for life! This sensitive guy loves nothing more than warming up to new friends and showering them with affection once he feels comfortable. Despite his age, Habanero is full of energy and zest for life! He`s always up for an adventure, whether it`s a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood or a game of fetch in the backyard. He`s the perfect blend of sweet and energetic! When it comes to other dogs, Habanero can be a bit reactive, but with slow introductions and patience, he may just find a furry friend who`s the perfect match for him. Habanero gets very excited when he sees cats, so he would likely do best in a home with no small animals. And for families with kids, we recommend children ages 13 and up to ensure his size and energy isn`t too much for any little ones. Are you ready to welcome Habanero into your heart and home? Don`t miss out on the chance to make this sweet and spicy pup a cherished member of your family! Give us a call at 330-487-0333 ext 803 to learn more about him , or stop by the facility at 752 West Portage Trail, 44313
