Story
Gianna was in a home for a couple months but unfortunately it didn't work out. (Again, due to not fault of her own) so she's back at the shelter, disheartened, wondering where her forever is and when they will find her. * Sponsored by Underdogs to Allstars; which means her adoption fee is covered and her adopter will receive training assistance and all the tools to set you and Gianna up for a happy and successful life together. Gianna is a goofy, outgoing girl who is looking for a fun and active family to take her on adventures. The shelter environment is a bit over stimulating for her (as it is for many dogs) so she appears a little bit wild and unruly at times. We know this isn't the true Gianna. When we pulled her from CCAS after she had been there for awhile, she greeted us sweetly, rubbing her head on her lap and asking for pets. Gianna was adopted from our shelter but unfortunately re returned due to no fault of her own. Because she is a still a young dog with little obedience training, we are recommending a home without small children. With the proper structure, enrichment and boundaries we know that Gianna is going to transition into her forever home flawlessly.

"Didn't your mother ever tell you it's not polite to stare?" Well, Hayes didn't get the memo. Don't let his gaze intimidate you; Hayes is just absentmindedly waiting for you to engage with him. We're not sure what his life was like before he came to us, and he can be a little awkward, but he lights up when surrounded by people and other dogs too! He may have some rough edges that need smoothing out, but underneath his tough exterior is a sweet and affectionate soul just waiting to discover what it means to have a home of his own and to be truly loved. Hayes is eager to learn, grow, and reward his humans with a lifetime of love, loyalty, and endless tail wags.

Story
Introducing our foster dog, Benny. This wrinkly little bulldozer is one of my favorite fosters, ever. He's doing better on his manners and is ready to find a new home. Benny's LIKES include: tugging ropes, smooshing his face into your face while insisting he's a lapdog, stuffy toys, receiving kisses on his soft lil cow snout, being super comfy inside the house, and burping in your face. Benny's DISLIKES include: you having any personal space, you being on your phone and ignoring him (yes, he paws the phone out of my hand ?), fast approaches by new people, walks in the dark. Benny has all the great qualities that you can't really teach. Sweet nature, joy for life, and he's got these deep and soulful brown eyes (he just lovingly stares into your eyes often). He's doing well with learning new things and also learning just to be present and at peace. I feel he really reflects the energy that he is given. He is potty trained and now crate trained. Good in the bathtub. Sleeps in his crate quietly all night, doesn't chew up dog beds, and has great energy when approached in the crate. Benny only barks to alarm me something is approaching. He does make this adorable Chewbacca noise if he wants something. Benny-isms that need work: 1) He requires patience!! I only use positive reinforcement training (I will stay off my soapbox on this topic), but I really think negative reinforcement would be terrible for him. 2) I don't think he can see very well. I believe that is what makes him hesitant at night in the dark yard. I try to make plenty of noise if I approach at night so I don't scare him. (No, he's not aggressive when scared, just makes you feel super guilty.) He will also bark at you (if you just arrive) until you get close or speak to him. 3) He has no spatial awareness. This may be tied into his eyesight. He's a bad judge at distance when jumping. He hits like a wrecking ball. I do not recommend small children in his household - he will flatten them...with love. 4) He still has A LOT to learn. He is estimated to be around 2 years old, but he acts younger. He's super curious about everything. I think he would be destructive alone and left out of his crate. His worst habit is counter surfing. We are working on it. 5) I am not sure if he is truly cat friendly. When tested and when we first got him, he ignored the cat. But as time passed, he became very focused and changed his body language around our cat. He never seemed aggressive towards her, but we can't take a chance. Our cat is 23 years old, deaf, fragile, and has no sense of self preservation. Because of this, they have not interacted with him off leash, ever. So I can't speak to it. I think he prefers women in general. I'm totally his favorite. ?? But he does love and snuggle my husband, too. I do think he is a special companion. He makes me feel loved. I think he's got potential to be a once-in-a-lifetime dog. I have found with him, the effort I put in is the love I get out. It's super rewarding. He keeps me laughing and well-snuggled. So if you are looking for a companion, look no further!

Story
Savage is 4 years old, he has spent his first life outside tied to a tree. He was abused by teenagers and received no love or attention, he was just THERE, all alone, day & night, hot weather, cold weather, rain, heat. His second owners adopted him from the shelter. At that time they promised to give him a great home, keep him safe, keep him feed, and treat him like a family member. They DID NOT keep their promise. Instead he was used as a breeding machine. But now he has been set free, set free to run, play, have human contact and just be a dog. He’s really spunky, really sweet, with good manners. Savage is so eager to love and be loved, I just know the right family or person for Savage is out there, somewhere. For some dogs, acclimating to new people, a new place and new routines can be difficult, but Savage has wasted no time getting comfortable. He thinks he’s a lapdog, and he definitely has lots of kisses to give. Savage is always ready to play running around the fenced-in backyard and the whole property whenever he gets a chance. He’s like a big puppy, He runs like a horse. He actually gallops. He is a sturdy king with a watermelon-sized head. Lol And though he is — well — thick AF, to be frank, he is totally convinced he is a lap dog. He even breaks out into a big grin whenever his belly gets rubbed. He listens really good and pretty much stays near you when off leash. He is the perfect match for any family, He’s big and goofy, and loves to have fun. .He would like nothing but to be the center of your world. He is always on the hunt for cuddles, snuggles and kisses and will be loyal – maybe too loyal. If a hunk of love is your thing then Savage is your man. A true best friend, Savage would love to see if you are his match and would love to meet you. Savage is a big dufus who can sometimes forget just how big he is, so we would suggest a home with adults and no kids since he was abused by teenagers. Savage would love to spend his nights snuggled up with just his people while getting belly rubs and giving kisses. Bulldogs are a great breed, they’re very affectionate and owner oriented + super soft. He was rescued with a female dog. His energy level is low but he does like to wrestle the grass. He has been tied up all his life so he is happy to be off the chain. He has had only 1 home Prior to coming into the rescue. He is a big boy who eats twice a day. He is utd on shots and neutered. No medical concerns, He is microchipped. He would love to be a big ole goofball in a home and a family he can call his own.

Story
Maui is a big boy with an even bigger heart! Maui thrives when he has structure, consistency, and clear boundaries, and with these in place, he proves to be an incredibly good boy. Originally adopted a few years ago, Maui was sadly returned recently due to no fault of his own. This smart and eager-to-please pup already knows many basic commands and is always ready to learn more. He's the type of dog who craves physical and mental stimulation-whether it's a challenging puzzle toy, an energetic training secession, or a brisk hike! Maui has done well with other dogs in the past could go home with a properly matched canine companion. Maui is looking for an adopter who will hold him accountable, provide clear guidance, and keep his clever mind and active body engaged. And when you adopt Maui and fall in love, "what can we say except you're welcome" for finding the most loyal pup ever!
