Story
Bulldog lovers, do not miss out on this roly-poly boy!! Tyson is a 2-year-old lovebug who recently lost his home. He is ready to start a new chapter in his life and find a family that will love him forever. Tyson is very typical for his breed; happy, lazy and always ready to clean up stray crumbs! He enjoys his time outside as much as he does on the couch and will zoom happily around the yard. He would be happiest with a secure fenced yard where he can run freely. We would love him to go to a home with breed experience. Tyson is most appropriate for a home without small children, as he does not know his size and can be over exuberant with greeting. We think he may like another dog friend in his new home too. If you think you fit the bill for this squishy lover boy, come by soon and ask to meet Tyson!

Story
** $ 530 in pledges for the rescue that pulls ** Meet Marshall, a sweet 8-year-old senior who was surrendered to the shelter with another dog when their owner could no longer care for them. His owner had him for 7 years and described him as active, noting that he enjoys running and chasing squirrels. Marshall has shown low to medium energy at the shelter, but based on his owner's notes, adopters should be prepared for him to possibly become a higher-energy pup in a home environment. He has had good meets with other dogs at the shelter, and while he previously lived with children, we recommend that any children in the home be over the age of 13. He will need to meet any children or other dogs in the home. Although he has been a bit confused and shut down since arriving, Marshall warms up once he gets to know you. He loves treats and butt scratches, and with a little time, we're hopeful his personality will continue to shine. Marshall is seeking placement with a rescue partner or adopter. BEHAVIOR: Per Volunteer 11/3/24: He was loose and wagging his tail when I approached his kennel. He's very easy on leash with just some slight pulling. When walking outside he got spooked by sudden noises like sirens or motorcycles. He took to me pretty quickly! Enjoyed Getting pets from me and had very loose body language. Chased after toys but didn't fetch them back. He was pretty active in the play yard for an older boy and enjoyed romping around! No issues going back in and we walked by a few other dogs and he remained very calm Per staff 10/31/24: Good walk, was very calm today. Per volunteer 10/28/24: For the first 15 minutes I spent with Marshall, he mostly ignored me. Instead, he focused on going to the bathroom and sniffing his environment. I tried to get his attention with treats. He would accept the treats I offered him, but he would then go back to sniffing around. After about 15 min of spending time together, he finally approached me for attention. Marshall allowed me to pet and scratch him all over, and he then would lean into me or nuzzle me for more attention. Marshall began to express a sweet, calm and gentle personality. He sat nicely for treats and ignored other dogs through the fence. Marshall walked at a slow pace and never pulled on the leash. He seems very housetrained. I had no issue leashing him to take him out of the kennel, and I had no problem returning him. Marshall is a wonderful boy and I enjoyed the time I spent with him. Per volunteer 10/27/24: Shy, playful. Very chill/low energy but is full of love. Per volunteer 10/20/24: Marshall is a little on the timid side. He was distracted by the smells and sounds and seemed nervous on our walk. I took him to a quieter area and he relaxed a bit but still was looking all around. He likes hot dogs and takes treats pretty well. He knows sit and will do so for some tasty treats. He enjoyed some chin scratches and I found out that he really likes butt scratches. He did good meeting a dog through the fence. 10/19/24 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: KNOWN HISTORY: Owner surrender KENNEL PRESENTATION: Marshall was standing by the door just staring with neutral eyes and a stiff body. I tried to loosen him up with treats and baby talk but he ignored me and continued to stare forward. I reached in with the leash and put his head right through, coming out as soon as he was secured. LEASH SKILLS: Pulls minimally HANDLING: Marshall came into the eval room with a tense body and neutral face. He walked around the eval room sniffing and ignoring the handlers at first. He did not want to come up for treats or baby talk. With some time and the occasional touch, he allowed some more handling and even would solicit for booty rubs. He loves scratches and just like Sage he takes lots of time to warm up. He knows sit and paw, and will take treats nicely. He is a very kind and sweet boy and needs some treats and patience. He allowed most handling but did not like his toes being touched and pulled them away very quickly. PLAY: Minimal interest TOYS: Minimal interest MEDICAL: On 10/29, Marshall had an exam for his skin and ear issues, as well as having blood in his stool. He was bright, alert, and responsive, and allowed all handling needed for the exam. He only had mild debris in his ears, with a few scars, but no signs of skin infections or inflammation. He was coughing during the exam, but his lungs sounded clear. On 10/21, Marshall was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection (URI) or "doggy cold and started on medication. On 10/28, his symptoms were worsening with concern for progression to pneumonia, so another medication was added. During his intake exam on 10/18, Marshall was 51 pounds, had mild dental calculus, and his eyes and nose were clear. His ears were inflamed, with waxy debris, and he had inflamed skin with thin fur. He was quiet, alert, and responsive during his exam. Story
Meet Spikey Potato! He is the silliest sweet boy with so much love and fun to offer. Videos: Felina and Spikey Potato Meet: https://youtube.com/shorts/wn-IIyy5SC8?feature=shared Spikey being a good potato: https://youtube.com/shorts/TGF-dfQjkAU?feature=share Behavior Notes: Per volunteer 11/2: Today I had the pleasure of meeting Spikey Potato, a recent owner surrender (good notes from his owner). Spikey was happy to get out, peed right away, and loved being petted. I offered him treats and he ate them very gently. He is a perfect size and has a great, happy personality. This handsome pup is ready to go home with you today (and is foster eligible too). Come and meet your new best friend! DAY TRIP NOTES: 11/3 Spikey Potato was a dreamboat on our day trip! Sweet as pie, playful puppy energy, and easy to train with treats. He allowed pets and massages all over without sensitivity or reactivity. The only sound he made our entire day was a few whines toward other dogs we passed during our walks, indicating to me that he wanted to play with them. He is equally cautious and adventurous, alert to new sites and sounds. After some gentle leash training, he often looked back to me for reassurance, to confirm we were going to keep walking. He appears house/potty trained, adapted quickly to rides in the elevator, and managed climbing a couple of flights of stairs up to my apartment. He jumped up onto the couch when I called him and allowed me to scoop him up on my lap when he was unsure of how to get up. He knows "sit, "wait, and understands "paw/shake. This happy boy showed NO aggression, barking or growling while we were together. He responded well to praise and positive reinforcement with "yes and treats. He gave me hand kisses and lovey eye gazing. Given a daily routine, consistent exercise and playtime, he would make the most loyal and delightful companion and might do well living with other gentle/playful dogs. Per Volunteer 11/9: Spikey Potato was very excited to run around the yard! He would chase after balls and toys, hasn't quite figured out fetching them, but he'd make a great playful companion. He was very interested in other dogs, and would watch from the fence with high tail, no vocalizations that I noticed. It seems like he's starting to feel better from being sick too! Per volunteer 11/10: I visited Spikey Potato in ISO today. He was so happy to get out and get some fresh air. Spikey is easy to leash and is a good walker. Spikey is trying to stay housebroken. The monthly photo shoot was going on and Spikey did not seem phased by the constant presence of dogs going in and out for it. He seemed excited to see other dogs and not reactive in the slightest. We enjoyed time in the ISO yard and he was extremely loving and gentle. This handsome boy would be an easy addition to any family and I highly recommend that you come and meet him today. Love him! BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: Spawn (Spike) KNOWN HISTORY: Owner surrender KENNEL PRESENTATION: Spawn was in a side bank with soft eyes and a waggin tail. He was easy to leash and jumped out of kennel. LEASH SKILLS: Pulled minimally HANDLING: In the yard, Spawn had a wagging and greeted the handlers in the yard with a smile. He was excited for a treat and took it very gently but did not eat it. He allowed all handling from the handles and liked to get some nice rubs and sweet cuddles. He cries for attention and whines to go on walks. When riled up he can get a bit jumpy but never mouth and he was not too much to handle. He is a small sweetheart and a gentleman of a dog. PLAY Engages in play TOYS: Chased balls but no possession

Story
Bugsy is looking for his forever home! I’ve had the pleasure of fostering this good boy for the past few months after he wasn’t handling shelter life well. Bugsy had a lot of anxiety here at the shelter, so I had to go and help him. Outside of shelter life, Bugsy is no longer showing anxiety (unless there’s thunder) and has made himself at home . He is house trained and good on a leash. Hes a total foodie that loves treats. Hes always rolling over for belly rubs and enjoys a short game of fetch on nice days. We are working on his barking but he’s such a good boy I’m sure he’ll get there. Bugsy is such a sweet boy and deserves the best. Happy to answer any questions.
