Story
This handsome boy is Mogli (b. 2022). He is a friendly American Bulldog/Australian Shepherd mix looking for a loving home. Mogli is housebroken and good with kids of all ages. Don't let his size fool you, he would love to sit on your lap and give kisses. He would be best with a fenced yard where he can run and play.  Watch your front door if he's around, an open door is an invitation for him to explore on his own!  If you have a lap and a yard, Mogli would like a play date with you. The suggested adoption donation for Mogli is $350, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $390,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases)  during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. From time to time owner,s find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption.  Alter Agreement:  If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, the adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized. ##1988357##

Hi Peaches! Peaches is an American Bulldog mix puppy (b. 10/2023) and is ready to steal your hearts! Peaches is dog friendly and stranger friendly, and even knows some commands. She is also housebroken! Peaches still has a lot of puppy energy, so she will need a fenced in yard to help contain her excitement. Due to her puppy energy, a home without children might be helpful. Story
Here comes Lobo, an American Bulldog mix, born appx July 2020.  Lobo is a friendly guy - he gets along with strangers, other dogs and cats.  He is quite the athlete with jumping skills, so he needs a 6' privacy fence.  He fetches, knows some commands and is housebroken.  Lobo gets a little anxious sometimes and would prefer to have another dog or cat around.  He would be okay with older kids (age 14+), but is scared of younger kids.  Lobo likes to play with toys, but does not like to share while he's playing.  He has been kenneled, but would prefer not to spend to much time in there.  If you have love and attention to share with a canine friend, apply to adopt Lobo today. The suggested adoption donation for Lobo is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Story
Taz is a charming 9 month old Boxer/Bulldog mix.  He is neutered, up-to-date on all shots, and microchipped.  He is crate trained, has free run in his foster home 24/7, and is really, really close to being potty trained (his foster needs to pay more attention to his requests to go outside).  He just passed Obedience 1 despite having to miss two of the six classes because of his surgery.  And he is a super snuggler (and somewhat of a pillow hog when he's allowed to sleep on the bed).       Taz was found roaming loose in a neighborhood park.  He came running when his foster got out of her car and he jumped up onto her seat before she could approach him.  His current owner apparently wasn't looking for him.  We were able to track down a previous owner who relinquished him to his current foster home where he's settled in nicely with two other dogs.  He loves to play with the 7 year old Aussie/Great Pyr mix -- they race and wrestle and chase off any squirrel brave enough to come into the yard.  He's a typical puppy -- unlimited energy, a quick learner, a huge heart, and an endless joy for life.    Taz needs a home that can meet his needs for a lot of daily exercise, will commit to additional training, and will have a fair amount of patience for a puppy to grow up.  This pup loves everyone he meets but isn't right for a family with young children or who plans to leave him in a crate 8 hours a day.  He's probably not good with cats and small pets or people who have mobility issues.  He is very physical and could be a great candidate for dog sports like agility or dock diving.   If his foster was younger, she would keep him in an instant.  But it's not fair to Taz to have to slow down for a senior owner.  He deserves an owner who is exuberant about life as he is. To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $250 donation is requested at the time of adoption. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check, obedience training agreement, and signing of adoption contract. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. Our dogs are companion animals that live indoors as part of your family. Please do not apply if your plan is to have them as outside dogs, garage dogs, porch dogs or outside kennel dogs.  We do not ship dogs.   All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try to email first. We are all volunteers that work so we can not easily take or make phone calls.November 4, 2024, 11:57 am
