Pet Location: Sherry is currently living in a foster home. If you’d like to schedule a time to meet her, please contact Wayside Adoptions at (816)986-4426.My friends at Wayside say:- I am crate trained in my foster home. - I’m a little shy—slow and steady wins the race with me.My home needs are:-I must go to a home that already has another dog so they can show me the ropes. -I must meet other dogs in the home before adoption to ensure that we can be buddies. Hi there, I’m Sherry! I’m a sweet, silly, playful pup who loves to have fun. Sometimes I’m shy and timid too, but just until I get to know you. Once that happens, you’ll find that I’m the sort of puppy who will make you smile and laugh every single day. We’ll have so much fun together. Wait until you hear me snort when I get excited! I can’t wait to bring a little sunshine and silliness into your life. I’m ready! I’m a darling, 3-month-old, 22-pound (and still growing!) American Bulldog mix, with the cutest little face, perky, expressive ears, soft puppy fur, and an unassuming, goofy, delightful personality. I’m already crate trained, and I’m working on housebreaking. I’ve learned to go to the door when I need to go outside, but I still have accidents if I don’t get out quickly enough. I’m calm and quiet in my crate, and I don’t have accidents there. I was transferred to Wayside from a rural shelter in Oklahoma that didn’t have space for me. I still vividly remember how scary and confusing that time was for me. I trembled in my kennel, hoping no one would come near me. I just felt so alone and afraid. That’s when Foster Mom came into my life. She took me home and introduced me to a whole new world. I’m still learning new things every day and blossoming into such a nice companion. I have made so much progress in just a few short weeks. Life is good.At the start, every single thing about living in a home was new and strange to me, so my foster family let me go at my own pace, which helped to put me at ease. And it worked, because I’m gaining so much confidence. Of course, for me, the single best thing about my foster home is the other dog that I live with! She doesn’t mind when I follow her everywhere, or when I curl up next to her for naps, or when I always invite her to play. She has taught me so much about life, and I forget my insecurities as I act like a typical pup when I’m with her. She has helped me to feel confident and content. And she jus

Pet Location: Aries is currently living in a foster home! If you`d like to schedule a time to meet him, please contact Wayside Adoptions at (816) 986-4426.My Friends at Wayside say:- I am housebroken and crate trained in my foster home. - I already know some basic commands.- My favorite thing is to be next to my people and play with my toys!- I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period. Please visit our website for additional information. My home needs are:- Cats are much too interesting to me, so my home will need to be cat free.- I must meet other dogs under 30 pounds in the home before adoption to ensure that we can be buddies.Hi there, I’m Aries! I’m a snuggly, chill, laidback, quiet friend who just wants to be by your side. It really is as simple as that for me. A couch to curl up on, my favorite person to give me a belly rub, a few toys to play with…these are the things that make me happy. I hope maybe you’re looking for a loyal companion who enjoys a peaceful, easy life, because that’s me! And I’m ready to be your dog.I’m a handsome, 6 1/2-year-old, 92-pound bundle of love and sweetness, with gentle eyes, a bright smile, a unique spot of fur on my side that is the shape of a heart, and a happy, friendly, lovely personality. I’m already housebroken and crate trained too, although I might whine a bit as I settle in my crate. It’s just that I’d rather be with you all the time instead of alone in a crate. I could stand to lose a few pounds, so I hope you’ll help me out with that by providing me with nutritious food and light exercise. Getting to a healthy weight will help me feel better and will keep arthritis at bay as I get older. I had an old injury to my left hind leg that has healed on its own, but I still favor it at times. It doesn’t slow me down or keep me from jumping up on the couch though, so life is good!I originally came to Wayside as a wee pup with my whole precious life ahead of me, and I was quickly adopted by a nice family. I’ve had a good life, but sadly, they are no longer able to take care of me. Coming to Wayside felt stressful and lonely, as I sat in my kennel and worried about my future. That’s when Foster Mom came into my life. She has made such a difference for me, taking me home and helping me to relax and enjoy life once again. Ah, it feels so nice to be back in a home, even if this is just a temporary stop on my journey. Hoping that my nex

Story
Very good boy Tennessee, our friend with City of Raytown Animal Services, was one of the first dogs at the new Raytown Dog Park yesterday, and he was amazing! He did a great job with fence introductions, stayed close by off leash, and had a blast! He has been overlooked for months and has had zero interest. This guy is a fawn/white pit mix and around three years old. He does well with other dogs, has not been cat tested, and is calm and responsive to his people. The amazing staff at Laurel Pet Resort have been working with him on sit and he offers snuggles in return! If you'd like to know more about this wonderful, sweet boy, call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387. He's in the Kansas City metro, but transport is available to the right home.

Story
This is Chili, our friend at City of Raytown Animal Services. She's a stunning bully mix, weighing in at about 40 pounds and only four years old. Chili has so many amazing qualities, too. She loves people of all ages; sitting next to them to get all the pets and love she can absorb is one of her favorite activities. She walks like a dream on a leash, and she's calm with great manners. She likes other dogs! Oh, and Chili's housebroken and knows sit. Fun fact about Chili: she can climb any chain-link fence. The second Chili enters a yard, you can see her doing the dog math on how to get over the fence. On the walls inside her kennel, we've found detailed drawings of the velocity required with 4 paws and a 20 mph wind gust from the northeast. She will require at least a six-foot privacy fence, but will also need to be monitored when outside, or she can be leash-walked instead (remember, she's fabulous on leash!). She loves leash walks, so there's another mark in Chili's bonus column. If you would like to meet this fun dog, stop by 10312 E. 63rd St. in Raytown, MO, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, or call/text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 (you may be able to visit during off-hours). She's in the Kansas City metro, but transport might be available.
