Story
Full of hope for a better life and a warm place to lay his big head, Sebastian wandered the streets of a little town in northern Missouri where he spent his days on the lookout for his next meal.  His adventures made him resourceful but Sebastian is just a big softie longing for a place to call home. Despite his past, he’s a happy boy, content with nothing more than a cozy spot by your side and a little love. He’s friendly with other dogs, easy to walk and always up for a car ride.  And omg, is he pretty.  If soft soulful eyes are your thing, he’s your guy.October 14, 2024, 4:43 pm

Story
Kylo is a TON of fun! He loves to play ball and is such a doll doing it that you won't want to stop, even when your arm gets sore. He's a sweet, derpy kind of pup, which is our very favorite kind. He's met a dog-friendly cat and did just fine. He likes other dogs, too! Kylo loves his human friends a LOT, so much that his excitement bubbles over into his puppy toes and he jumps for joy and wants to touch you sooooo badly, but tries really hard not to. Even so, his exuberance might be a titch much for the little kids. Kylo is so eager to please people that he's learning basic obedience, the ins and outs of being the best dog he can be, at The Pet Connection (Official) and loving every minute of it. Treats sure do make it even more fun for Kylo and the other dogs in our care! But he's already 12/10 a very good boy! Kylo takes food soooo gently that you wouldn't even know he has teeth. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more info! Kylo is in the KC metro but transport is available to the right home.

Story
Georgie, our friend from @Valentine's Second Chance Animal Rescue, adores being with people. It doesn't matter what you're doing-- reading a book, working, going for a walk, puttering in the yard--being with you will bring Georgie joy. How wonderful is it that just spending time with you can make this lovely, precious boy so darned happy? You see, Georgie came from a shelter in Kansas where too many dogs don't make it out alive. But Georgie was lucky and he seems genuinely grateful to be here, with people who want to be with him. Now we're on a mission to find the people who will give Georgie the gift of companionship, of love, of a HOME. That's where you come in! We need you to share Georgie's story and help him find a home for the holidays. Please share to help this guy find a home! Georgie is about three years old and weighs 65 pounds. He is an excellent snuggle buddy who will take every opportunity to sneak in a kiss when you're least expecting it. He is getting better about walking on leash but can still get distracted at times (no doubt stopping to smell the roses), and likes going for rides in the car. Georgie likes most other dogs, too! He would love a home with adults only or older kids because little kids are scary for Georgie, and we want Georgie to feel safe. Want to bring this big baby home with you? Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387. Georgie is in the Kansas City metro, but transport is available to the right home. #thepetconnection #adoptdontshop #georgie #dogkisses #AdoptGeorgie #KansasCityDogs #DogAdoption #RescueDog #PetRescue #DogsofInstagram #GeorgiesJourney

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Virginia (virginiak@tarasdream.org) for more information about this pet. Please visit our web site at https://tarasdream.org/adopt to fill out an adoption application for this pet and for more info about our adoption process.  Meet Letty! She is an 18 month old bully girl that is just now getting to learn the world, and let’s face it, that’s both fun and scary!  Letty was surrendered to T.A.R.A after a rough start, but it hasn’t phased her a bit and she loves people and other dogs, although her rough play style can be intimidating to some. She also previously lived in a home with kids which she would love to do again!  This girl has a heart of GOLD and absolutely adores everyone! Letty is still learning about the world around her, so she is still a bit timid of everyday things like leashes and stairs, startling noises, and people who don’t keep dogs inside! Ideally Letty would find a home with a dog savvy individual, couple or family, who gives her love and training, so she knows what she is supposed to do with her young self! We know with the right family she will blossom into an amazing companion, who would love a spot on your sofa, and in your heart.  Come  meet Letty, and give her an opportunity to live the good life with you!     Approximate Birthdate:  Jan 2023 Adoption Fee:  My adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous volunteer! TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL. Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.     For more information please fill out an application.     CONTACT INFO The Animal Rescue Alliance (TARA) Web site: tarasdream.org Adoption Information & Applications: https://tarasdream.org/adopt Upcoming Adoption Events: https://tarasdream.org/events Email: email@tarasdream.org December 8, 2024, 2:41 pm

Sully is such a delight! He loves people and does well with dogs and kids. He is a seven-year-old, 60-pound American Bulldog/pittie mix who loves to sun himself like a kitty. ❤️ He's a gentleman, taking his treats gently, and is house-trained, too. Sully's so well-behaved in his foster home that he doesn't even need to be in his crate when his foster dad is gone. Snuggling on the sofa is Sully's jam, but he also loves his toys and tennis balls, is curious, and is great on a leash. Text or call The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387. We'll tell you even more about this darling boy. Maybe you'll want to make him yours. Sully is in the Kansas City metro, but transport is available to the right home! 🚗🥰 #thepetconnection #AdoptDontShop #AmericanBulldog #PetAdoption #KansasCityPets #DogLovers #PittieLove #RescueDog #DogsofInstagram #DogAdoption

Story
If you're looking for that bully breed smile and cuddling personality then Sadie is your girl! She's all love and wiggles with humans and doesn't know a stranger. She is good with most other dogs, but can be over reactive to high arousal situations. Meaning no dog parks for this girl. She loves to play with toys and will throw the toy and chase it down herself. She loves her people and wants to be with you. She doesn't like cats and she's nervous in new situations. Sadie came from a terrible hoarding situation. (https://www.kshb.com/news/local-news/ray-county-sheriffs-office-breaks-up-puppy-mill-50-to-70-dogs-found-on-property) she is looking for a forever home willing to give her stability, rules, and help her be her best self. Sadie is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200. At Autumn Acres Animal Rescue we believe each individual animal matters. We take in special cases some of which will stay with us as a sanctuary dog.If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect Dog this means they have special needs and special requirements for potential adopters. If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect RESIDENT this animal is NOT available for adoption and is one of our sanctuary residents. We list them on our sites because they still matter and they still need donations to help with their long term care.Check out our website for more information: http://www.autumnacres.org

Story
Roxy Age: 6yo Breed: American Bulldog mixed with Boxer. Weight: 75lb Color : White & Brown. Sex: Female. Potty trained. Spayed. Up to date on Vaccines. Must be indoors. Roxy was adopted to our family when she was 4 months old. She is a very sweet dog and loves a lot of attention. She does well with little kids as we have a 4 year old girl at home and other pets like dogs & cats as we have a cat at home as well. She is fully potty trained and used to going to a groomer. Our family's VERY busy work schedule & daughters dance schedule does not allow us to spend a lot of time with Roxy and it really breaks our hearts seeing her alone all of the time. She loves playing outside and going on walks. She is used to being indoors and does not like the cold. She has been very well loved her whole life and was raised with out spanking or any other physical discipline so it is important to use she is with a loving home. Her bad habits is she likes to bark at the delivery guys.

Hippo was found as a stray in the Missouri bootheel. No one claimed him, but he built up a fan club at the pound who campaigned to get him into rescue! Hippo is great with other dogs and older kids. He is potty, kennel, and leash trained. He is unfortunately heartworm positive but is starting treatment. He’s otherwise healthy, so his prognosis for a long happy life is great! He loves toys and playing tug with other dogs. He’s overall low energy and would be happy to snuggle with you! Adopt a House Hippo today!

Story
Meet Stewie My name is Stuart, but my friends call me Stewie. I'm a Pittie mix who is a little over 1 year old. I've been with my foster family for a few months now and am looking for a forever home of my own. My foster mom brought me to her home after meeting me because she felt really bad about the rough start I had to my life. You see, I was found by the Pet Resource Center of Kansas City's Outreach team in December. I'd been outside in the rain and cold over Christmas and I was skinny and scared. I wasn't sure if I could trust the humans who found me, but eventually I went along with them and was soon warm and safe and had food in my tummy. When my foster mom first brought me home with her, I was happy to find there were dogs in her home but I needed to make the male human in the home work for my trust, lol. He hand fed me 3 meals a day for a few days before I finally thought he was okay. I must keep some secrets to myself, but my foster parents quickly learned I wasn't treated very well by the humans who had me before. I don't want to tell them everything and make them sad, but they do know I was abused. I wasn't afraid of things in the house, but if someone made sudden movements I'd flinch. I'm doing a LOT better with that now thanks to all the love and patience from my foster family. It takes me some time to warm up to new humans, men mostly, but as soon as I know you're okay, I'm the bestest friend you could ever want! I give nice kisses, and will roll over for belly rubs. I do make my foster parents laugh a lot especially because of my "Super Top Secret Shoe Relocation Program". It's a mystery to everyone else except for me, but sometimes I think my foster parents' shoes or slippers need to be relocated to different areas of the house. I think it's super funny when they wake up in the morning and can't find their slippers! I also talk a LOT which sometimes frustrates me because my foster parents don't know what I'm trying to tell them. They think I should probably live in a house and not an apartment because I do talk so much. I like to go on walks, and I love learning new stuff. My foster mom has taught me how to sit, lay down, look at her, come here, and a few other things. I like it when she spends time with me teaching me stuff, and think I'd like a human who will continue doing things like that with me. I've put a lot of thought into this, and I think my ideal forever home will be one that's laid back but with humans who want to take me on walks every day. My BFF in my foster home is Soda Pop. We're pretty close in age and have lots of fun wrestling and playing and going on walks together. I don't need to live with another dog though because sometimes I just want to hang out and Soda just wants to play non-stop, which can be kinda annoying sometimes (but don't tell him I said that). If you're looking for a smart, handsome, affectionate guy who enjoys long walks and new adventures I'm your guy.

Story
My Dad and Best Friend passed away, and l'm looking for my forever home! Healthy Male 3 yr. old Boxer Mix. Neutered. Vaccines are Up-To-Date till Oct. 2025. Super friendly, and love to give kisses! Not fond of little dogs, and little children that take my toys. Needs a slow introduction to new doggies over time. Loves to be the center of attention. I don't like cats, and get a little nervous during thunder storms. I would love an energetic family that plays! Since my Dad passed away in Oct. 2024 and all the changes, I have had some separation anxiety and will follow you around the house and look for you when you’re gone but will calm down after awhile. Will let you gently know when I have to poop and potty outside, and come right back in on my own. Like's car rides! Trainable, and very smart!! Needs a slow introduction to new doggies over time. Sometimes thinks he is a lap dog and loves snuggles!

Story
Dozer is a large Boxer will stick to you like velcro once he trusts you! We have to rehome because when our senior dog died in the spring the dynamic changed between the remaining 3 dogs & his dog siblings have started ganging up/attacking him. They have been separated w/gates, allowed supervised play, & training over last 6 months with minimal overall improvement in the dogs interactions. Dozer is not the problem- he is an awesome loving/ sweet/ silly dog - but he is now also scared of dogs. He may need to be the only dog or he MAY be ok with only one other FEMALE dog but they will need to meet first. He needs a home where his people are working from home or retired. He knows basic commands & is crate trained but we work from home and he has never left been alone OR in a crate longer than 3 hours. He needs a yard & a family who will provide consistent play time. Must be willing to meet first to ensure good fit. We are looking for the BEST forever fit for him NOT the fastest.
