Story
This handsome guy is Ocho, a 7-year-old American Bulldog/Boxer mix ready to find his forever home!Ocho is quite the catch as he is as low-maintenance as dogs come. It doesn't take much from his human(s), sometimes its just a smile, to make his stub of a tail wag and let you know he's enjoying life.Although he may look serious, this boy is a total goof and the sweetest of dogs. Ocho will make you smile daily, but especially when you come home or he sees someone he knows and jumps/dances with his legs straight to do the funniest of taps. He's a tank but surprisingly light on his feet!Ocho absolutely loves his people and when he knows you, he trusts you for life. He may take a moment to warm up but once he does, he'll be rolling over for belly rubs and snuggles with the biggest of smiles. He loves to sit next to you or against you when given a comfy spot to rest.Ocho would ideally like to be the only dog in the home, so he can keep all the attention for himself. While he currently lives with a dog and does well, when he meets new dogs he can be overly excited. He much prefers calm, confident female dogs. He loves the occasional short play with her and enjoys a good walk but doesn’t need one. He’d be down for a hike or time in the yard (his recall is great). He has also previously lived with cats but would need slow introductions and supervision to re-introduce him to felines.Ocho has a history of living with kids and reportedly did okay. Since coming into rescue, he's shown that he's not a fan. For this reason, it is best that Ocho finds a forever home that does not have children in the household and we recommend slow and supervised interactions when he encounters them in the future. Ocho isn't a big fan of chaos and would prefer a chill home to spend his best years.Besides his family, what Ocho loves most is a ball. He especially likes to chew on a ball, fetch a ball, or simply sleep on a ball. If a ball is around he'll be content. He is also into toys, especially squeakers. In new spaces Ocho can initially vocalize when left alone so shared walls are not recommended. With time he is fine being left solo, just trying to work his sweetness on you.Like most Bulldogs/Boxers, Ocho can run a bit sensitive so appreciates the current medication he’s on that has helped his body heal from the previous living environment he was in. He has since become a beautiful, healthy pup.Ocho is the epitome of a dream dog and a content companion ready to bring happiness to whatever family is lucky enough to get to call him their dog.If you think Ocho could be a good fit, apply using the link below to learn more!https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
This 1-year-old Shepherd mix is equal parts gentle giant and affectionate cuddle bug! At 52 pounds (and growing!), Brownie is a total sweetheart who's ready to lounge by your side, showering you with adoring looks and plenty of kisses. This boy is great with kids and shows no issues around them, making him an excellent addition to a family. He also interacts well with other dogs, barking only once to say hello before calmly moving along. While he hasn’t had experience with cats, his curious and gentle demeanor suggests he may be able to adjust with proper introductions. Brownie has adjusted well to his foster home and is learning more every day. He’s crate-trained and will settle when needed, but he much prefers snuggling on a cozy bed with you as your perfect Netflix buddy. He will need a little supervision while house-training is perfected—he’s great at signaling when he needs to go but might have occasional accidents. Brownie has a big bark and occasional whines, so he is not a match for homes with shared walls (apartments/condos). Despite his large size and deep bark, he’s still figuring out how to handle his growing body, often scratching awkwardly or accidentally bumping into things, which only adds to his goofy charm. Brownie loves a daily walk and a good play session with toys and bones (destruction included!), but he’s happiest when he’s close to his people. He would do best in a house with a fenced yard where he can safely stretch his legs and enjoy the outdoors. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will make your home his whole world, Brownie is ready to meet you! Visit our FAQ page to learn why. Bob here, your soon-to-be favorite couch ornament. At 80 pounds, I'm big, squishy, and 100% committed to napping. Seriously - napping is my calling. Walks? Meh, I'll go along with them, but don't be surprised if I stop every few minutes to 'check things out' (aka take a break). I do enjoy wandering the yard in search of sticks to chew on&#194&#151hey, that counts as exercise, right?I'm house-trained, and when nature calls, I'll give you a bark that says, 'Excuse me, human, bathroom break required.' Other dogs? I'm cool with them, although I'm more of a 'you do you' kind of guy. Kids? Haven't met any in a while, but I'm basically a bowling ball on legs - so, yeah, I might accidentally knock them over. It's not personal, just physics.Cats? Listen, I don't even know what those are. Are they toys? Tiny, weird-shaped dogs? Your guess is as good as mine. But here's what I do know: I'm a total sucker for human affection. Belly rubs, ear scratches - just tell me where to sign up. Oh, and while I'm a fan of my own voice, your neighbors might not be. So, apartments? Probably not my vibe.Sure, I'm missing a few teeth, but trust me - I've got enough charm to make up for it. So, if you're in the market for a goofy, attention-loving Bulldog with a serious passion for lounging, look no further. Meet Gayle, a 3-year-old female American Bulldog mix with a stunning apricot and white bicolor coat. Gayle is a high-energy pup who loves spending time with people. She's incredibly friendly and cuddly, always eager to share affection. While Gayle enjoys the company of people, she can be selective with other dogs and might need a patient and experienced owner who can help her navigate her interactions. She's a bit anxious and defensive around other dogs, but with slow exposure and gentle guidance, she has the potential to adjust and become more comfortable over time. We suggest a single dog home for Gayle. If you're an experienced dog owner looking for a loving and energetic companion, Gayle could be the perfect addition to your family. Story
It's a pleasure to meet you, my name is Walter! I like to greet people the old fashioned way, a tip of the nose, a meeting of the eyes, and a formal introduction of who I am. I've always kind of been an old-soul, at least that's what people tell me, with my wrinkled fur and gentle eyes. As an older gentleman I tend to have a bit more patience than these young whippersnapper pups. You'll find me waddling around quite slowly but my tail still wagging none the less! I have been known to snap when nervous, but I have come so far and I just need a little time and patience. Cause I just so want to be your big goofy friend! I have a soft and squishy face to go along with my squishy personality! I am great with my people and great with other dogs too. I am shy at the very first but am on the fast track to love! As a senior dog there's really only one thing I care about ... TREATS ... just kidding, it's being close to others. Being close to others helps remind me that I am here and my story is still being written with infinite possibilities. Perhaps you and I could write the next chapter together? Story
Welcome Buddy to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 2-year old American Bulldog and Australian Cattle dog is our best guess on the mix. He has a lower coat and does shed. He is a bit of a puller on leash when he first gets out of his kennel. He is intelligent, affectionate and ready to learn. It doesn’t appear he would be hard to train but may have not had a lot of training in his first home. He would be great for a runner, jogger or hiker. He is sturdy and could keep pace and would love to join his human. He is in my opinion a perfect man dog. He loves men naturally and leans in to show his affection. He hasn’t been reactive on leash when walking around other dogs. He is social and not afraid of new people. He is exuberant so we think he would be best around children that are 8 or older. He would do great with an active family that wants an active companion. He does slow down and likes to chill out as well. He is not perpetual motion. He is getting neutered soon and is already getting his vaccinations and will be chipped. He is hw negative and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. . Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Update 11.8.24  Meet Zeke, the Charismatic Country Boy! Are you ready to fall head over paws in love with a dog who will capture your heart with his affectionate nature, playful antics, and rugged charm? Look no further than Zeke, the lovable Boxer/Mastiff cross who's been stealing hearts in his foster home for the past month. This gentle giant loves people, and people love him right back! Zeke is a social butterfly who thrives on human interaction, whether it's cuddling up on the couch for movie nights or greeting new friends with a wagging tail. His friendly demeanor makes him a perfect companion for families, singles, and seniors alike. Zeke is a natural-born cuddlebug who adores snuggling up with his humans, but he's also happy to be an only dog, enjoying all the attention and affection to himself. He's lived harmoniously with another dog in his foster home, but we recommend a slow introduction to ensure a peaceful coexistence (don't worry, our rescue team will guide you through the process!). This country boy loves the great outdoors, where he can explore open fields, sniff out hidden critters, and enjoy long walks (3-4 miles a day, no problem!). His leash manners are a work in progress, but with treats and positive reinforcement, he's learning to walk nicely by your side. A word of caution: Zeke can be reactive to unknown dogs, so patience, consistency, and reward-based training will help him become a pro. Zeke is a clever boy who's crate-trained and prefers to sleep in his cozy crate at night. He's vocal about his needs, so you'll always know when he's ready for food, playtime, or a potty break. This foodie loves treats, especially bones stuffed with peanut butter, bananas, and frozen carrots. To prevent gobbling, he uses a slow feeder or puzzle feeder, which keeps him engaged and satisfied. One of Zeke's quirks is his sensitivity to foot touching or unexpected contact. However, when he initiates affection, he's happy to be petted and adored. He's also a strong boy who benefits from an Easy Walk harness, which helps him walk nicely without pulling. Zeke is currently working on his fitness goals, and with smaller meals and more exercise, he's on the path to a healthier, happier him. If you're ready to provide a loving home, plenty of exercise, and a gentle touch, Zeke will reward you with a lifetime of loyalty, laughter, and snuggles. Are you ready to bring Zeke into your life? Contact Minnesota Boxer Rescue to learn more about this charming companion and how you can make him a part of your family!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 8, 2024, 8:35 am
