Story
Hi, my name is Phoenix. I am from Arkansas. Phoenix found himself with a shelter partner of ours after escaping a life of neglect. Rescued from poor living conditions, he's blossomed into one of the happiest, best-behaved dogs you could meet. Phoenix loves to play fetch and tug-of-war, is 100% house-trained, and gets along well with other dogs. With his striking brindle patches and mismatched eyes, he's ready to find a loving forever home where he can continue to thrive! From his foster: Phoenix is a lovable old soul with a goofball side. He is such a sweet boy and has been so well behaved the entire time we've been fostering him. He's fully house and crate trained. He did bark for a few minutes the first couple times he went in the crate but he's been perfectly fine from there on out. Phoenix has been very gentle with everyone he's been around including kids and our other dog. We leave him out at night and he just crashes wherever he wants and has never been destructive with anything in the house. He's a little on the husky side so we're working on some leash training to get a little exercise but the main thing this guy wants to do is cuddle up on the couch with you and take some naps. Please don't hesitate if you have any question about this amazing boy.

Story
Welcome Buddy to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 2-year old American Bulldog and Australian Cattle dog is our best guess on the mix. He has a lower coat and does shed. He is a bit of a puller on leash when he first gets out of his kennel. He is intelligent, affectionate and ready to learn. It doesn’t appear he would be hard to train but may have not had a lot of training in his first home. He would be great for a runner, jogger or hiker. He is sturdy and could keep pace and would love to join his human. He is in my opinion a perfect man dog. He loves men naturally and leans in to show his affection. He hasn’t been reactive on leash when walking around other dogs. He is social and not afraid of new people. He is exuberant so we think he would be best around children that are 8 or older. He would do great with an active family that wants an active companion. He does slow down and likes to chill out as well. He is not perpetual motion. He is getting neutered soon and is already getting his vaccinations and will be chipped. He is hw negative and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. . Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi, I’m Pinkie! I’m a 3-year-old Bully Mix, weighing in at a solid 68 pounds of love and loyalty. My favorite thing in the world? Being close to my people and furry friends, whether we’re playing or just chilling together. I’m a big fan of snuggles, and if there’s a blanket to curl up under with you, I’m in heaven. I’ve got my potty and crate training down pat, and I even know some commands like “sit” and “stay.” But hey, I’m still learning—sometimes I get a little distracted. Give me a treat or some praise, and I’ll be eager to impress you! I’m also great with kids, and I’d love a forever home with some humans to adore me as much as I adore them. I love my walks, but fair warning—I can get a bit excited and pull on the leash. Oh, and I definitely need a fenced yard. There’s nothing better than the freedom to roam, sniff, and explore safely every day. I enjoy playing with my resident dog buddy and would be happy with another doggy sibling, but I’d also be okay as your one-and-only, as long as you’re around a lot. Cats? Well, I’m curious about them and have learned they come with claws, so it’s probably best I stick to a cat-free home. I’m the perfect mix of playful and mellow, happy to romp around and then settle in for a snooze. My foster mom says I’m incredibly sweet, and honestly? I agree. I’m ready to bring lots of love, laughter, and cuddles to my forever family—could that be you? *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs. Story
Meet Gayle, a 3-year-old female American Bulldog mix with a stunning apricot and white bicolor coat. Gayle is a high-energy pup who loves spending time with people. She's incredibly friendly and cuddly, always eager to share affection. While Gayle enjoys the company of people, she can be selective with other dogs and might need a patient and experienced owner who can help her navigate her interactions. She's a bit anxious and defensive around other dogs, but with slow exposure and gentle guidance, she has the potential to adjust and become more comfortable over time. We suggest a single dog home for Gayle. If you're an experienced dog owner looking for a loving and energetic companion, Gayle could be the perfect addition to your family. With a little time and patience, she's sure to become a loyal and devoted friend. Come meet Gayle and see if you can be the one to provide her with a forever home filled with love and understanding. Story
It's a pleasure to meet you, my name is Walter! I like to greet people the old fashioned way, a tip of the nose, a meeting of the eyes, and a formal introduction of who I am. I've always kind of been an old-soul, at least that's what people tell me, with my wrinkled fur and gentle eyes. As an older gentleman I tend to have a bit more patience than these young whippersnapper pups. You'll find me waddling around quite slowly but my tail still wagging none the less! I have been known to snap when nervous, but I have come so far and I just need a little time and patience. Cause I just so want to be your big goofy friend! I have a soft and squishy face to go along with my squishy personality! I am great with my people and great with other dogs too. I am shy at the very first but am on the fast track to love! As a senior dog there's really only one thing I care about ... TREATS ... just kidding, it's being close to others. Being close to others helps remind me that I am here and my story is still being written with infinite possibilities. Perhaps you and I could write the next chapter together? Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
From the Foster: Ajax is a gentle, sweet guy approaching 9 years old. He requires moderate levels of daily exercise and has pep in his step! His favorite activity is fetching his rubber ball in the yard. He is a solid guy that might pull a little on walks to sniff something special so the handler must be strong enough to redirect him. Ajax is indifferent to other dogs, he will walk past them with barely a look. In our home, he is very respectful of our grumpy 11 year old small dog and they basically ignore each other. Ajax has recently begun a veterinary prescribed weight loss plan with the goal of losing 13 pounds to get him to his ideal 53 pound size. This will require a potential adopter to feed twice daily at the prescribed quantities and limit treats during the day. He has been doing great on this plan and enjoys hugs and "good boy" pets rather than treats anyway! He is very much motivated by food and will lay in the kitchen watching intently while the humans are preparing food however, he does not beg or try to jump up. Ajax will thrive best in a home where the humans are home most of the day. He would be a great companion to empty nesters, retired and work from home parents that enjoy multiple daily walks to keep him stimulated. He is a quiet dog and only barks as appropriate to alert us to a delivery van, someone at the door, unusual noises, thunder/lightning. He follows us around the home often throughout the day and has displayed a little anxiety/panic whining when he is left alone for short periods but hoping this improves once he's been here longer and more comfortable in his new environment. He has a few old guy "lumps and bumps" on his belly but all have been tested and nothing of concern. Ajax is taking a daily joint supplement Dasuquin for joint health as he ages. This supplement can be purchased at pet stores and over the counter. Ajax is not tested with Cats and it is unknown if he is crate trained. He is a champ at going to bed and sleeps quietly on his orthopedic bed for a solid 8 hours until his humans get up.

Story
Hello my name is Thor, I'm from Minnesota! From his foster: Thor is 78 pounds of true bulldog delight. He would be a great solo dog or second dog to add to your family. Has a chill personality and definitely interested in cuddling up with you. Very well behaved on the leash. Loves children and extremely respectful around them. House trained. He is a little anxious in new situations but calms down and settles in with patience. He is crate trained! From the Vet: Hi! I'm Thor and my foster and friends at TBB wanted to help me share some information about me. I have been evaluated for excessive drinking and urination and no medical cause has been identified. This means that it is likely I am experiencing some anxiety that is currently being managed by some calming medications and limiting my access to water to only what I need in a day depending on my activity level. My future family will want to continue to work with me on this as I settle in to a new environment. Hope to meet you soon!

Story
I am looking for a foster family on 12/21! Please email fostersupport@thebondbetween.org if you can help! Hello my name is Turbo, I'm from Minnesota! Turbo was adopted as a puppy and is now being returned because his family is moving to a place where they cannot have pets. He's a great guy, who loves being around other dogs and kids. He's used to being crated and is housetrained. He hasn't really been around cats. From his foster: 1st day: He is a friendly happy big boy! Walks okay(needs work) on the leash, house trained, and can relax on his own. He's very playful but not annoying to my large resident dog, he's a little rough for my little one (10 lbs). His bio had said he's okay with cats but he is too interested in them, he's seems to have a strong prey drive, it's not aggressive but a no-cat foster is needed for him. I'm not sure smaller children would be in his best interest either. Again, not aggressive but gets playful and he's a big guy! He's SUPER sweet and 90% chill. I do feel another large resident dog that plays or someone that is active with him; long walks, dog daycare, daily dog park visits, is his best choice. Happy Holidays!
