Welcome Buddy to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 2-year old American Bulldog and Australian Cattle dog is our best guess on the mix. He has a lower coat and does shed. He is a bit of a puller on leash when he first gets out of his kennel. He is intelligent, affectionate and ready to learn. It doesn’t appear he would be hard to train but may have not had a lot of training in his first home. He would be great for a runner, jogger or hiker. He is sturdy and could keep pace and would love to join his human. He is in my opinion a perfect man dog. He loves men naturally and leans in to show his affection. He hasn’t been reactive on leash when walking around other dogs. He is social and not afraid of new people. He is exuberant so we think he would be best around children that are 8 or older. He would do great with an active family that wants an active companion. He does slow down and likes to chill out as well. He is not perpetual motion. He is getting neutered soon and is already getting his vaccinations and will be chipped. He is hw negative and ready for his forever home. Surly is a beautiful dog, she'll be three on April 29th. She's been a great dog and loves laying around cuddling with her younger brother Finnegan (also available). We rescued Surly from Save-a-Bull as a young puppy. She's always been a loving and affectionate dog who loves our young kids. Surly loves the snow and doesn't mind going on walks even when it's cold! She is very smart and knows commands like sit, shake a paw, lay-down, up, come, stay, etc. She is still young and will need additional training. We are looking for someone who loves big dogs and knows how to care for them properly. Surly is strong! You need to be in pretty good shape to walk her. The ideal owner is able to take both Surly and her brother Finn or at least has another larger dog at home for Surly to play with. Ideally you have experience with the breed as well.

Hi, my name is Phoenix. I am from Arkansas. Phoenix found himself with a shelter partner of ours after escaping a life of neglect. Rescued from poor living conditions, he's blossomed into one of the happiest, best-behaved dogs you could meet. Phoenix loves to play fetch and tug-of-war, is 100% house-trained, and gets along well with other dogs. With his striking brindle patches and mismatched eyes, he's ready to find a loving forever home where he can continue to thrive! From his foster: Phoenix is a lovable old soul with a goofball side. He is such a sweet boy and has been so well behaved the entire time we've been fostering him. He's fully house and crate trained. He did bark for a few minutes the first couple times he went in the crate but he's been perfectly fine from there on out. Phoenix has been very gentle with everyone he's been around including kids and our other dog. We leave him out at night and he just crashes wherever he wants and has never been destructive with anything in the house. He's a little on the husky side so we're working on some leash training to get a little exercise but the main thing this guy wants to do is cuddle up on the couch with you and take some naps. Hello! My name is Janet and my foster mom says I can brag a little bit. She says I am the best dog. I even overheard my human brother say “Janet is a keeper!” That made my heart so happy. I love love love being with my family. They do spoil me though. I get to sleep in the big bed with them and I am the best sleeper! I sleep all night like a good girl. I am used to the kennel while they’re at work but lately they’ve even started letting me have free roam while they are at work. My mom says I am doing wonderful. I just sleep or chew my toys while they are at work. I’ve never once have gotten into anything! I love my walks!! I go on 2 walks a day. My family says that I need to get better while walking because I am so strong. I was a stray when I was little, never lived in a home, so I just need more time to work on this. I would love a fence because I love to run around and sniff all the squirrels and rabbits. Please give me a chance. I promise you will love me forever!!Janet is heartworm positive and has completed her treatment. She is awaiting a negative test result which can take place 9 months after treatment per our vets recommendations. She is no longer needing to be on exercise restrictions. I had taken Niya in from my cousin who was her original mother. She passed in 2022 due to cancer and no one would take Niya in. I also had a dog who was Niya’s brother but he has passed in the previous year. I have become financially unstable as I take care of 2 of my sisters who are job less. Because of this I have since been evicted and currently living with my mom who lives in a public housing support program and her place don’t allow dogs. I love Niya as my own but I no longer have the time for her as I work 2 jobs. Shes an amazing dog and very jolly and deserves all the attention. My cousin always loved her and I don’t want to give her away but I have hit a dead end and can’t do anything about my situation.

She is an adaptable kinda gal with a preference for a home that has another dog, as she loves to play and rough house. Leia has been around all sizes of dogs and does well with most - with the exception of one dominant female she has met!  She is eager to please and a huge fan of humans so would also be fine in a home where she is the only dog.  If she thinks you aren’t paying attention to her, she will give a low growl and paw at your hand to remind you that she is “right there” patiently waiting for pets. She is not a lap dog, but she is well aware that humans have two hands and they should both be used when she wants to nuzzle your ears! Leia hasn't been on many car rides, so gets a little nervous at first with eyes focused forward but quickly relaxes and appears to enjoy watching the world go by.  She is both crate and potty trained. Does well on a leash. Long walks are not her jam, but she’ll play in the yard for endless romps with a buddy. She is super fast and a great ball chaser/retriever!  She loves treats of all kinds, chewing on bones (and shredding toys)! While "Indestructible" stuffies are no match for her expertise, she has never caused damage to personal items. Her previous home did not have cats, so unsure if she gets along with them. She did grow up with children, small dogs and never had any issues.  She is a very curious girl who is eager to please and will follow you around the house to see what you are doing and if she can help.
