Story
Meet Sugar, a courageous and resilient dog who has overcome incredible odds. Found starving and severely malnourished, Sugar's journey from the brink of death to a healthy, happy dog is nothing short of inspiring. This sweet girl has shown an amazing will to live and a heart full of love despite her rough start. Now recovered, Sugar is bursting with energy and enthusiasm for life. Her coat is shiny, her eyes bright, and her tail never stops wagging. Sugar adores human companionship and thrives on affection. Whether it's going for walks, playing with toys, or just snuggling up on the couch, she's always ready to be by your side. Sugar is looking for a forever home where she can be showered with love and attention. She's currently fostered with cats and dogs. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a dog who will love you unconditionally, Sugar is waiting to meet you! We do not have a facility for you to visit.  WE PROCESS APPLICANTS AND SET APPOINTMENTS BASED ON THE ORDER APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED , so while you are welcome to email  ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, you will want to complete the  ONLINE APPLICATION ASAP ,  which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find  a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10 day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fee is $220 for adults, $295 for puppies (under 6 months), and $150 for seniors (8 yrs and up) which covers the cost of the spay/neuter, age appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. The majority of dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers, so there is often very little known about their history or even current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC provides a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, as well as telephone support.   November 7, 2024, 8:43 pm

Story
**Twinkie is in a foster home and not at the shelter** Hey there, I'm Twinkie! No, not the sweet treat, but I'm just as delightful. I'm playful, goofy, and curious. I might stumble around a bit, but that's just part of my charm. I have done fabulous with potty and crate training. I’ve even been left alone uncrated for about 3 hours with no issues too. My foster mom say she misses me too much to leave me any longer. I'm quite the chatterbox, always ready to share my thoughts. If you've had a long day, don't worry, you won’t have to say a word with me around. Everyday is an adventure with me. My foster mom says I am such a sponge taking so many new things in and I’m doing really great. I do enjoy car rides but I would love a little nudge to help me get into the car. My favorite game is playing fetch. Have two toys ready and we can keep the game going for a little while until it’s nap time. My foster mom says the cutest thing I do is chew/suck on my blankie. I tend to do that when I am tired or needing to self sooth. She says it reminds her of a toddler sucking his thumb. I really like other dogs a lot! When I am around other dogs I do tire out very fast and exhaustion sets in quickly. Honestly as much as I love them I think I would be best as the only dog in the household. I’m looking for a home that can provide me with stability and guidance as well as love and praise. A daily structured routine would be awesome for me so I’m not always guessing what will be next. I’m a creature of habit for sure! So I’m thinking everyone in the home should be teenagers or older so we can all establish our household routines together. I'm ready to fill your life with laughter and lots of tail wags. Adopt me and let's make our own fun-filled adventures together! Apply at k9stray.com and my friends at k9 will be in touch.

Story
Let's talk about Ethel! Beautiful Ethel is a one of a kind personality. She is picky about her friends but when she likes you, she LOVES you, and she let's you know it. She will 100% steal your heart when she gently places her paw in your hand. If you put it down, she will just give it back and look at you with the most loving eyes you have ever seen. Then you know, you are her chosen friend for life. Ethel was found as a stray in horrible shape. She has clearly been through a lot but that in no way has stopped her from thriving and being the sweetest girl. Her glow up has made her almost unrecognizable to those that saw her when she first was found. Ethel is guessed to be around 3 years old. Ethel will need to be the only dog and we do not recommend small children for her forever family. Cats are unknown. She will need a loving home that adores her as much as we do. Patience and meeting her where she is at will be important as everything will be new, but she is so eager for her own family. Can that be you?

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Nash is a big love bug! He loves to get petted and cuddle. He is still very much a pup so he is a bit mouthy but is working on his manners. His knows some basic commands like sit, wait, stay and high five. He is house broken and crate trained. He is very quite in his crate and really in general. Nash is not a big barker. He loves to run around the yard, play with his toys and chew bones. He doesn't chew things that don't belong to him. He is very eager to please and is a really happy boy.  We believe Nash would do best in a home with no small children because he is a strong mouthy pup that still needs to learn some manners. He will also need to be in a home without cats.Nash comes with a free training package and is also a candidate for our foster to adopt program. If you are interested in meeting, fostering or adopting please fill out an online application. Questions to cbrookszy@yahoo.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. November 4, 2024, 7:53 am
