Story
Meet Lily — the definition of laid-back, loving, and completely devoted to her people Lily is a big, goofy bulldog mix with velvety-soft fur and an even softer heart. She’s one of those rare dogs who is equal parts chill companion and full-body-wiggle greeter — happy to lounge by your side but so excited to see you every single time you walk in the room. 💛 Lily’s Personality If you’re looking for a dog who truly loves people — Lily is your girl. She is incredibly social and forms deep bonds with her humans. Whether it’s her favorite volunteers, shelter staff, her furlough foster, or THE Melissa (Aunt Melissa) — Lily lights up when she sees “her people.” Her excitement is unmatched, and her love is constant. At home, she’s the easiest kind of companion: ✔ Potty trained ✔ Not destructive when left out (just don’t leave treats within reach 😉) ✔ Well-behaved and low-maintenance in the home ✔ Can do great if you work outside the home She’s laid-back, content to relax while you’re gone, and happiest just being near you when you’re home. She doesn’t ask for much — just love, consistency, and a spot by your side. Of course, she still has her fun side — she loves stuffed toys, will happily roll around like a goofball, and thinks a kiddie pool is the best invention ever. 🩺 Medical Needs Lily has allergies that are well-managed with: ✔ Routine allergy injections ✔ A specific diet for skin sensitivities These are important for keeping her comfortable and feeling her best, and her adopter will need to stay consistent with both. 🏡 Lily’s Ideal Home ✔ Dog and cat free home ✔ Someone looking for a loyal, people-focused companion ✔ Commitment to her medical needs and diet ✔ A home where she can be part of your everyday life ✨ Why You’ll Love Lily Lily is the kind of dog who doesn’t just live in your home — she becomes your person (and expects you to be hers). She is easy to care for, incredibly well-behaved, and endlessly loving. When she has her people and the right environment, she absolutely thrives — and watching her love her humans as hard as she does is something really special. She is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, so you can get to know her in your home and make sure it’s the perfect fit. ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. An approved application is required before we can schedule a meet & greet. Once approved, we’ll work with you to ensure it’s a great fit—and if it’s not, no worries! Story
Baxter is very sweet and loves to cuddle. We adopted him as a rescue in December 2025. He is 18 months old. He definitely needs more supervision than we're able to provide. He is very food motivated, chews everything and really enjoys socks. (He's eaten several.) We're not home enough to allow him to exercise and burn the energy that he needs to and have him in his kennel much more than we'd like. He is kennel trained and generally goes in without a fight.

Story
I sure wish I had some great story to tell you about my past life. You know&#44 a story where Im the hero&#44 and I rescued my family from a burning building; or&#44 I pulled the sled team alongside Balto&#44 and we raced across the Alaskan tundra getting life saving medicine to sick children. Alas&#44 I cant tell you those stories because I think I just made them up.

No&#44 I was actually adopted from Great Plains four years ago&#44 and once I went home&#44 well&#44 I lost touch with my friends here. Fast forward to today&#44 and I came into the shelter again because my family moved away and deserted me at our house. I know for a fact it wasnt me or anything I said or did. I think they just didnt want the responsibility of a dog any longer so they abandoned me. Im over it&#44 and I hold no grudges against humans because of them. I know that I need to open my heart to a new family&#44 trust them&#44 and that maybe this time - THIS TIME - they will love me and care for me until the end of my days. I want to be a member of a family and do my part to care and support and love all of those in it.

I lucked out and have had the privilege of living in a foster home with a wonderful couple. They are so good to me&#44 and in return&#44 I have been nothing but a very good dog. I stick to my Foster Mom (FM) like a little bit of velcro. We have kissing sessions in the morning&#44 belly rubs mid-morning&#44 and a wonderful walk around the neighborhood whenever we want. My Foster Dad missed having a dog in the house&#44 so they decided that fostering would be the way to go. He and FM say that&#44 and I quote&#44 Kermit is the best foster dog we have ever had. I am perfect in the home&#44 I am as sweet and loving as they come&#44 and I even get to sleep in bed with them sometimes. They have a four-foot fence&#44 and I dont try to jump it or anything. What kind of dumbo would you have to be to jump a fence and leave this home and family? I love them with all my heart.

Im a calmer guy now than when I was at the shelter previously&#44 more relaxed and mellow than before. Ive maybe gotten over some of my fears&#44 and Ive learned that love is the most important thing in life. Love and smelling the roses on a daily basis. Oh and eating bonbons with someone you love on the couch watching a rom-com. I prefer affection and attention from my human(s) above all else. I want a home where I can hang my hat&#44 climb into my bed&#44 and drift off to sleep knowing that I have a safe and loving haven in which to live. Yes&#44 Ive reached my senior years. And they are years to be enjoyed and savored - like a good book or fine wine. Honestly&#44 I liken myself to a vintage bottle of Chateau Lafite-Rothschild. We both have a smooth&#44 velvety texture&#44 we age gracefully over time&#44 even improving as the years go by. Could you ask for anything more in a dog?

I hope that you are my person. I hope that you are reading about me and want to meet me. I so want my chance at a happily ever after.

Love from Kermit (aka Kirby)

Featuring photos by Krystle-Lee Photography

Story
Meet Bougie – A Gentle Soul Looking for Her Safe Haven Age: 3 years | Spayed | Up to date on all vet care | Microchipped Adoption Fee: $200 Bougie is a sweet, timid pup who’s slowly learning to trust the world again. At just 3 years old, she has already overcome so much after being rescued from a severe hoarding situation where she never received the care or socialization she needed. Because of her past, Bougie is very shy and cautious—but in the right environment, her gentle spirit begins to emerge. Bougie is fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped—ready for her second chance. She is looking for a calm, adult-only home with a securely fenced-in yard and no children. Due to her fearful nature, a home with experience handling shy or undersocialized dogs is a must. Another calm, confident dog in the home could help guide her and make her feel more secure. Bougie won’t be the kind of dog who runs to greet you on day one—but with time, patience, and love, she will blossom into a loyal and deeply grateful companion. If you believe in second chances and have the experience and heart to help a fearful dog thrive, Bougie might just be waiting for you.

Story
Meet Gronk, a 7 year American bull dog mix with a love for all humans. His big ol’ heart fits in his big ol’ barrel chest, but don’t let his size fool you. He’s a big baby that just wants to be near you. Here’s a few other things Gronk wants you to know:* He is house trained and very happy to snooze the day away when you leave the home, never getting into trouble.* Gronk is a great mix of goofy and happy at times, but chill at others.* Gronk knows he’s a big boy, so is very gentle with others, never jumping up. He receives treats gently.* He has terrific leash skills - doesn’t pull on leash and loves to go at your pace. He’ll remind you every once and awhile to stop and smell the smells and feel the sunshine on your skin.* He loves people watching and even people in cars watching. All are potential new friends.* This affectionate boy loves you most. You`re his number 1. But the nearest chew toy is number 1.5. He LOVES to have a chew toy available in each room of the home and uses them as a pacifier. If something makes him anxious, he immediately finds a chew toy to calm his nerves and drift off to his next nap. We can learn a lot from Gronk on how to handle stress!* Gronk has lived with other dogs and isn’t bothered by any other dogs that bark at him on walks. Squirrels, though, they deserve a bark here and there.Looking for a companion that will adjust to your pace of life? Gronk knows a guy (it’s him).Gronk is neutered, microchipped and current on vaccines. Now all he needs is a home of his own! Gronk is living in a foster home. If you would like to meet him please email foster@kcpetproject.org.*Rosie Fund is providing Gronk`s adopter with a Rosie Life Starter Kit and KCPP $25 gift card for other enrichment items. PLUS Bigfoot Pet Photography has added a $350 photo artwork voucher! Visit rosiefund.org to see videos of Gronk and all current Rosie Dogs available for adoption.
