Story
Late last December Stewie found himself in the shelter. While stuck in the shelter environment, Stewie's mental health decreased rapidly and he became a completely different dog. He was put on the Preventing Euthanasia path to ensure that all measures were being taken to get and keep him out of the shelter. He quickly became a staff favorite after being put on the Preventing Euthanasia track. The dogs on this path get extra outings and attention to help reduce their stress levels. They make lots of new friends, and Stewie wowed them all with his charm and affection. He makes the funniest noises and faces, making it impossible not to fall fall in love with him. His favorite thing in life is people.....and attention! He does very well meeting new people and making new human friends. He even enjoys having kid friends! Luckily, he now has a great foster to help him decompress and help us learn more about his behavior in a home. His foster says: Stewie is an AMAZING dog, does good with humans / adults & kids. He loves to go for rides in the car, to lay next to you & cuddle and loves to play tug of war. He's a pretty laid back dog most of the time. He also loves to sit for a treat. And he has the cutest snort when he breaths. Sometimes when you're sitting down or bent over he likes to jump up & give you a lick / kisses you. And when Stewie hasn't seen you for a little while, he'll get excited and jump on you with his two front feet because he wants to be hugged and petted. All this sweet boy wants is your love and attention. Stewie would do best with older kids because he thinks he's a little dog and doesn't understand his own strength. I have Stewie around my nieces & nephews / bigger kids all the time and they do great. Stewie is potty trained & crate trained, he has never had an accident in the house. He never barks, except when he has to go outside to the bathroom. Stewie is working on his walking manners, sometimes he likes to pull and for that would do best with a strong person to walk him. Stewie needs to be your one and only pet. He has a very high prey drive which means he can't live with cats, hamsters, bunnies etc. And we will never know why, but he really dislikes other dogs. They stress him out so much that he would be best in a home with a privacy fence, or a backyard where he can't see any other dogs. Stewie is such a great dog, who is looking for his very special person! He needs a hero! Could it be you?

Story
Hey there, meet Mambo! This 2.5-year-old Bulldog mix has been chilling at the shelter for 1 year and 7 months, just waiting for his big break. Picture this: squishy face, mesmerizing copper eyes, and an athletic build that's just begging for some outdoor adventures. Mambo's a fan of the finer things in life, especially when it comes to his beloved dog bed. But don't let his love for lounging fool you—he's all about fun and games too. Whether it's a game of fetch or a leisurely stroll, Mambo's up for it all. Sure, he might need a bit of time to decompress from shelter life, but once he's settled in, he's gonna be your loyal sidekick for life. If you're looking for a fun-loving companion who's ready to turn your house into a home, look no further than Mambo. If interested in fostering or adopting Mambo, please complete an application at sapamo-rescue.org. (Breed listings are just a best guess based on appearance.)November 3, 2024, 9:15 am

Story
We adopted Bo in March of 2024. She is a sweet dog and loves everyone she meets. If you have time she is so smart and easy to train. We taught her how to sit, lay down, stay, and leave it. Bo has tons of energy and enjoys time outside walking and being able to stop and smell the flowers. Our only problem with her is our time limits. We are super busy people and cannot give her the time she needs. Best home for her would be a home that is okay with energy and giving her lots of attention. If you give her that you will have a best friend for life. Bo doesn’t do well with small dogs and can target them. However, she can become submissive and shy around bigger dogs. She does great with all types of people and kids.
