Story
Stella is a 2 year old female American bully. She is the sweetest, most cuddly girl EVER. If I could’ve put more pictures I would’ve, to show her personality more. She is extremely playful, she loves fetch and any kind of game. She enjoys all affection and attention. She is very smart, she knows sit, lay down, stand up, roll over, shake, and many other things. My mother has two dogs, Stella goes and plays around them often. My dad also has 2 dogs, and Stella also goes over there and plays well. However, due to Stella’s background, she is very dog reactive when in her own home. Before Stella came to me she was in a home with other bully’s, and was attacked multiple times by another bully in the home. I believe this has led Stella to feel very territorial while in her own home, and makes her view any other animal a threat, both dogs and cats. I live in an apt, and can not have her. I desperately need to re-home her to a good home!

Story
Meet Honey, the 2-year-old American Bulldog mix with a heart as big as her love for toys! At about 61 pounds, Honey is the perfect size for playtime and cuddles, and her energy level will keep you entertained for hours. She’s house trained and crate trained, making her an easy addition to most homes. Honey's foster family describes her as friendly, outgoing, confident, happy, and playful. Her love for toys is legendary—she can go through three boxes of toys a day, flipping them in the air and chasing them around. She also enjoys running in the yard, especially if there's a soccer ball to chase. With her high energy levels, she would do well in a home with a fenced yard where she can run and play safely. Despite her energetic nature, Honey loves going for walks, but she is strong on the leash. Honey's intelligence is another of her great qualities—she knows basic commands like sit, down, stay, and eyes, and she's always eager to learn more. When it comes to people, Honey is a true social butterfly. She hasn't been around young kids, but her foster family thinks she'd do well with children over 10 years old, mainly because she's still learning to play gently. With other dogs, Honey is doing well with slow introductions, but she might be happiest in a home with another active, playful dog. However, she could also thrive as an only dog, getting all the attention and playtime she craves. If you're looking for a smart, energetic, and affectionate companion who will keep you laughing with her playful antics, Honey might be the perfect match for you. Just rub her belly, and she’ll happily curl up on the couch with you. Apply to meet her and see for yourself what a wonderful addition she would be to your family! Her minimum adoption fee is $95 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.  She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Hello world, meet Grey! Grey had a rough start to life, and came to IEBR when she was almost six months old. She has come so far in her healing and has blossomed into a goofy and loving young lady! Grey was born with spina bifida, a congenital defect of the spinal cord. As a result, she has some weakness in her hind limbs and is a fully incontinent diaper girl. When she came into rescue, this sweet baby also had two partially torn cranial cruciate ligaments in her knees, but they are scarring over and stabilizing without surgery and her mobility and endurance have increased tremendously in the past several months. Grey has the sweetest disposition, loves all people, and is friendly with other dogs. A playful fur sibling would be a dream come true for her. Also on her wish list are a comfy couch, someone to give her shoulder massages and snuggles, and access to as many tennis balls as possible. Grey has three modes: sacked out and snoring, sweet and cuddly, and up and ready to play and won’t leave you alone until you throw her ball at least a few times. Her puppy energy comes out in little bursts throughout the day and she gets restless without daily exercise, so play time and/or daily short walks are a must. The rest of the time she is happy to nap on the back of the couch, where she can enjoy both the view and the sunbeams. Grey’s ideal living situation would be a home with few stairs and access to a fenced yard for play. Her regular physical maintenance includes all of the normal bulldog stuff like cleaning face wrinkles and ears, administering eye ointment for her dry eye, and moisturizing her cute little nose as needed. In addition, Grey requires diaper changes every 3-4 hours during the day. Her skin is prone to irritation, so each change includes a thorough cleaning and application of diaper cream and Aquaphor. Her foster parents strongly recommend using a sturdy changing table; this is what Grey is used to and it makes her maintenance so much easier! Grey requires daily diaper-free “naked time” to allow her skin to breathe and air out. She is currently crated with no diaper overnight and any time her foster parents need to be away from home longer than 3-4 hours. Her crate needs to be cleaned daily and her bedding laundered. Grey would like her future family to know that bathtime is the BEST time, especially when a peanut butter lick mat is involved. As soon as she hears someone getting a towel from the linen closet, she runs straight to the tub! Grey has gotten along so well with other puppies, younger dogs, and her senior foster brother. She does get warned off on occasion for being too enthusiastic and affectionate but she responds well to this and backs off when she needs to. Grey enjoyed the company of her littermate Frida until she was about 8-10 months old, at which point Frida developed aggression toward Grey (which is common in littermates). She lives every day like it’s Tongues Out Tuesday and greets every morning like it’s the Best Day Ever. What more could you wish for? This sweet, sensitive, goofy girl will be a loyal and loving member of a lucky forever family! If you are interested in Grey please visit our website: www.ilenglishbulldogrescue.org, and read through our adoption criteria to see if you meet our requirements. If you do, please fill out an application to adopt. Greys's adoption fee is $550.00 Visit us on Facebook: Visit us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/IllinoisEnglishBulldogRescue

Story
This is Sofi, Sofi is 6 years old. You might remember that Sofi came in with her brother Larry. When we get dogs from the same family, we like to keep them in the same foster home if at all possible, to determine if they are a bonded pair. We quickly realized that Sofi and Larry are not bonded. In fact, they are very independent of one another. Sofi’s foster mom says this about Sofi. “She is an absolute snuggle bug”. “She is an easy dog who doesn’t require much except for your love and snuggles”. With that said, Sofi is being treated for anxiety. She is on a low dose anti-anxiety medication 2x daily. Sofi is fully house broken. She tolerates other dogs but doesn’t love to have them take her humans love. She currently lives in a home with her sibling Larry and another foster and is good with them (no food or toy aggression) but would thrive in a home where she is the only dog. For this reason, we are looking for a family that will make Sofi their one and only! Are you looking for an absolute snuggle bug to fill your heart with love? If so, Sofi is your girl. Sofi will be ready for adoption very soon. If you think Sofi is a fit fill out your application today!! If you are interested in Sofi please visit our website: www.ilenglishbulldogrescue.org, and read through our adoption criteria to see if you meet our requirements. If you do, please fill out an application to adopt. Sofi adoption fee is: $600.00 Visit us on Facebook: Visit us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/IllinoisEnglishBulldogRescue

Story
Hello world, meet Frida! Frida had a rough start to life, and came to IEBR when she was almost six months old. She has healed beautifully and is now a happy and healthy one year old! Frida was born with spina bifida, a congenital defect of the spinal cord. As a result, she has some weakness in her hind limbs and is a fully incontinent diaper girl. She doesn’t let this hold her back, though! Frida has gained so much strength and balance since she’s been in foster care that you would never know from looking at her that she has any mobility issues. She loves to go on walks around the block and is always game for a shoulder rub or back scratches. In fact, she’ll just crawl right into your lap to make it easier for you to administer those massages! Frida also has the very endearing habit of getting right up to her foster parents’ faces and gently nibbling their noses. Her affection just melts your heart, but her 50lb body perched on your lap can be a lot; she will need someone to remind her of her size around small people or those who prefer less physical contact. Frida’s ideal living situation would be a home with a dog-friendly sofa, not a ton of stairs and access to a fenced yard for play. Her foster parents strongly recommend using a sturdy changing table for her diaper changes and other physical maintenance; this is what she is used to and it makes her routine so much easier! Frida’s regular physical maintenance includes all of the normal bulldog stuff like cleaning face wrinkles and ears, administering eye ointment for her cherry eye (which will be surgically treated in March 2024), and moisturizing her cute little nose as needed. In addition, Frida requires diaper changes every 3-4 hours during the day. Her skin is prone to irritation, so each change includes a thorough cleaning and application of diaper cream and Aquaphor. Frida needs help expressing her bowels during diaper changes, which may sound intimidating but is actually pretty quick and easy. She requires daily diaper-free "naked time” to allow her skin to breathe and air out. Frida is currently crated with no diaper overnight and any time her foster parents need to be away from home longer than 3-4 hours. Her crate needs to be cleaned daily and her bedding laundered. Frida loves to have a warm bath and will park herself next to the tub at the slightest hint of a bath time. Frida lived happily with a senior bulldog foster brother for several months and would probably enjoy having a calm fur sibling in her world. She developed aggression toward her female litter mate at 8-10 month sold, which is not at all unusual for litter mates who remain together. Frida has enjoyed the company of her two labrador foster cousins when they visit and has met other dogs while on leash walks without incident. Her foster family thinks Frida would do best with more submissive or non-confrontational canine companions. All people are great as far as Frida is concerned, and she earns fans everywhere she goes! This gorgeous little nugget will make her forever family swoon -- and laugh a LOT. One additional consideration is that Frida's vets have strongly recommended that any future surgeries (such as her upcoming cherry eye repair) be performed at a facility with board-certified anesthesiologists. She had a scary response the first time she was put under, and both her regular vet and the specialists she's seen feel that she's safest with a team of board-certified anesthesiologists. If you are interested in Frida please visit our website: www.ilenglishbulldogrescue.org, and read through our adoption criteria to see if you meet our requirements. If you do, please fill out an application to adopt. Frida's adoption fee is: $550.00 Visit us on Facebook: Visit us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/IllinoisEnglishBulldogRescue
