Story
Meet Roo! Are you ready for an adventure? Roo certainly is! This 1.5-year-old bundle of energy is looking for a forever home where he can thrive and show off his boundless enthusiasm for life.Roo is a 52-pound dynamo with a zest for activity. There's never an off switch with this spirited pup! He's intelligent, eager to learn, and has an insatiable drive for food - the perfect recipe for a brilliant companion. If you're looking for a dog to challenge your brain and keep you on your toes, Roo is the one for you. This clever canine entered the shelter as a stray with a furry friend, but he's been on a solo journey to find his perfect match. While Roo may not have made many dog friends during his stay, he's ready to bond with a human who can provide him with the mental stimulation and training he craves.Roo is a fast learner and would thrive in a home where his intelligence is put to good use. Whether it's mastering new tricks, agility courses, or interactive toys, Roo is up for the challenge. He needs an experienced owner who can provide structure, consistent training, and engage him in activities that keep both his body and mind active. It's important to note that Roo is a bit selective about his company, especially when it comes to sharing. He prefers a home without other dogs, as he's not keen on sharing his food, toys, or treats. Additionally, Roo would do best in a household without cats or small children.

Story
Lala is taking her house hippo duties very seriously, and with style we might add. Lala has loved every minute of being able to chillax in a home setting, and we have found that while she can zoom and play, she would really much rather potato on the couch for as much of the day as you’ll let her. While she has been simply loving being in a foster home, due to work conflicts she is coming back to boarding this week and we would really love to place her in a new foster home - or better yet find her an adopter! Lala is estimated around 5 years old, and is a squatty and petite 40lbs. She is dog, cat and kid friendly. She still has some things to learn, she is not a huge fan of being crated, but will tolerate it for a couple hours before saying HECK NO! She is still working on potty training as well, but she is otherwise an easy, gentle, snuggly gal to be around (her daughter had to get it from somewhere right? ) Lala has gone to work with foster mom some days and they joke she is the office therapy dog. Anytime someone has been having a rough time and needs a break they just go and snuggle with Lala! Instant cure! Lala is an instant mood booster and is guaranteed to make you laugh and smile more than you did without her in your life. Please share Lala! October 28, 2024, 2:52 pm

Story
We need your help sharing Wasowski far and wide! We think of Waz as this easy going, hunky, confident dude. He loves attention, and obviously attaches himself to people. He looks to his person to check in as is if to say, “I’m being good right? This is what you want right?” Waz’s heart is truly as big as his head. He was a shelter staff fave, has gone on multiple adventures, we can bathe him, blow dry him - all the things - with no cares in the world, and he has been a doll in boarding. Unfortunately we didn’t think Waz would STILL be without a foster, and he needs someone to open their heart and home to him, as we are learning that Waz lacks confidence and comfortability just BEING IN A HOME. Is that not the saddest sentence ever? Waz has had two weekend fosters and we were shocked to hear that Waz seemed anxious, unsettled, and restless. Both households had another dog that he did fine with but when they would bark, whether it was at a passing car or to try to get Waz to play, it would make him nervous and uncomfortable which then lead to him avoiding the dog in the house and sticking close by his persons side. He does not seem scared, just anxious and unsure of what to do with himself. Granted both of these experiences were less than 48hrs long and we know it takes more time than that for any dog to adjust. We have no idea if Wasowski has ever been in a home, all we know was he was in obvious medical neglect when he got to the shelter. Even though he seems so confident and happy to us, he has some insecurities that a foster home would cure. Waz needs a foster home willing to let him decompress and take the time to show him a home equals love, safety and relaxing. And who knows - the “time” It takes might not be very long at all, he just hasn’t had the opportunity to even try. Waz is estimated 5 years old and 68lbs. Potty trained and non destructive so far and while he wouldn’t mind coexisting with a dog, energetic dogs stress him out, at least at this moment while he is adjusting. Waz loves toys, cuddles, and big wet sloppy kisses. Please consider fostering or adopting, and give this big lug a chance. October 28, 2024, 2:52 pm

Story
Momma Bloom has been a busy bee behind the scenes and is finally ready to find her forever home! Daisie was seized in a cruelty case and came to the shelter with two 7 week old babies she was taking care of. We took one look at this very skinny momma pressing her body up against the chain link fence to get pets and her two baby blooms peering out from behind her, heartbroken knowing we couldn’t take them. Days later and still unable to get the blooms out of our head, we heard the shelter was full again. We knew we had to help, and while it was not easy, we did some magic maneuvering and luckily were able to say “Yes!” and save the three girls. Fast forward to now, the baby blooms are off and doing their puppy things elsewhere, and mom finally had time to rest and let her body recoop in a safe space. Daisie has gained all the weight she is supposed to and is currently healing from her spay. No matter what past Daisie came from, she has been nothing but 100% mushy, sweet and loveable. She has zero concept of personal space, and tries to crawl into your lap as much as you’ll let her, and she gets her way too with the gentle kindness she just exudes. Daisie loves to play ball, and even enjoys some shallow water ball time, but otherwise she is happy to nap on her big cushy bed and chew a bone. Daisie does great in the car, walks well on a leash and knows basic commands. She is estimated 3 years old, is 46lbs and might be part piglet based on all the snorts and grumbles she makes. She does not mind other dogs, but so far gets overwhelmed quickly if they are too “in her business” and she will tell them to leave her be. Mom has earned her right to want her space, but we are hopeful with time and distance away from the days of being a mom she may learn to be more open minded about her dog friends. Right now her favorite dogs are the ones who ignore her and let her nap! Daisie is currently boarding, and if not an adopter we would be elated to find her a foster home to rest her little piggy head in. Every single person who meets her is immediately smitten, and we promise you will be too. Adopt Momma Bloom, adopt happiness. October 28, 2024, 2:52 pm
