We also adopted Blue from a previous owner, but there has been a drastic change in our schedule, so we no longer have time for him. Blue loves being with his owner all the time. He is VERY energetic and always loves to play. If you adopt Blue, he will be like your best friend! He always wants to be with you!

Story
We have made the painful decision to rehome our 2.5 year old dog, Ginger. We adopted Ginger in January 2023 from the San Jose Animal Care Shelter. She is extremely sweet, loving, protective, warm, and playful. She enjoys running on grass, playing fetch, and cuddling in bed. She also loves to abuse her “treat” button and get treats, bread or strawberries in return! Ginger has displayed some aggression towards other dogs, unfortunately. She needs a home that can handle and train out her aggression, is willing to deal with her separation anxiety, and is able to spend the time to train her to be less reactive and toy possessive. We are looking for a home where she can thrive despite her quirks. Also, we would appreciate it if her new pawrents would be willing to let us meet her every once in a while - she's been such an important part of our lives for 18 months and it pains us to have to let her go, but if we can see her every now and then, that might make it a tad bit easier for us.

This beautiful baby girl needs to be rehomed. She is 2 years old. Her name is Maya. She's an American Bully mix. About 60lbs. She is a loving girl that just needs a good home and a owner that can fit her needs. Me and my wife work during the day and can not leave her with our older dog because they do not get along. Our older dog needs training.

Story
Long John Silver is a sweet dog; he has previously been fostered with other dogs and did well with canine companionship. He has been receiving baths with a medicated shampoo and loves his spa time!Long John Silver was transferred to Valley Humane on 11/10 from Oakland Animal Services. He was surrendered when his owner could not afford his necessary eye surgery. He is an adult dog (aged between 4 and 7 years old) and weighs 17 pounds.Long John Silver has been diagnosed with skin irritation due to suspected allergies. The signs of allergy are most commonly itching and skin inflammation or infection. This pet has been treated with a topical flea control and started on an allergy medication. A specific cause was not determined. Allergies are generally caused by one of 3 categories: 1. Flea allergy. 2. Environmental allergy (atopy). 3. Food allergy.Long John Silver was diagnosed with grade II-III patellar luxation in both knees. This condition is common in small and toy breed dogs. In grade I, the patella sometimes moves out of place but returns to its normal position its own. In grade IV, the patella (kneecap) is constantly out of place and does not move back into its normal position. Grades II and III are intermediate in between these. Patellar luxation can cause occasional intermittent to constant lameness. Surgical correction should be considered if the dog shows frequent lameness or pain.Do you have questions about this animal or are you ready to take the next step to adoption? Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $800   Pizookie is a 3 year old English Bulldog x Micro American Bulldog mix who’s as sweet as your end of the day treat! Pizookie was rescued from the shelter with her pal after being surrendered by their former home. We aren’t sure how anyone could have left these adorable smooshy faced pups behind, but we had to save them and give them the best ever second chance! Pizookie weighs 40 pounds and is an absolutely gorgeous merle pup. Bulldog lovers won’t find a better pup than our Pizookie, we promise you that! We will be prioritizing homes with experience around flat faced and Bulldog breeds as they have unique health specifications. If you’re ready for the sweetest new dessert for your family, come on down and order our limited edition Pizookie today!       Pizookie is a super duper friendly and outgoing gal who adores her people and the world around her. From minute one, she was extremely affectionate and ready for snuggles and scratches. She’s never met a stranger she hasn’t immediately won over and plopped her head into the lap of. She’s a total people dog, but she isn’t a Velcro dog. She’s fine to occupy herself if you need her to, but is always ready for another attempt at the lap dog life. Pizookie is very food motivated and smart, so we expect she will continue amazing you for the rest of her life. Pizookie has a medium energy level, she loves playing with her toys and going on her walks but also spends a lot of her days sleeping and lounging about. With her piercing blue eyes and her gorgeous merle coat, she is just as sweet and affectionate as can be. We have no doubt that she would be a famous Instagram model in no time! Even though she isn’t “normal” lap dog size, she has no idea of that fact and she’s happy to do her best to get into your arms on the couch. She’s basically an adorable dog and a weighted blanket all wrapped up in a cute package!  Pizookie wakes up at 8 AM and goes right outside for potty and breakfast. She either sleeps in a crate with the door open or on her bed. She spends the morning following her foster people around before snoozing in anticipation for her mid-day walk. After her walk, she’s pretty mellow for the rest of the day - entertaining herself by chewing on a toy or her Kong until dinner time. She also takes plenty of well-deserved naps in between her play sessions and cuddle sessions. It’s hard being Pizookie! Once she eats, she goes out for another potty break and a playful romp. In the evening, she relaxes by the fire or clambers onto the couch to hang out with her foster people. She goes out for one last potty and then heads to bed  Pizookie currently lives with another dog but she prefers her people, so they largely ignore each other. She walks well on a leash and doesn’t pull. She is still working on her housetraining but is making quick progress. Her dream home is one where her people are ready to shower her in love and affection. She would be an amazing WFH buddy, as long as you’re excited for a snoring buddy to make your Zoom calls full of fun. Ready for snorts and cuddles? Come order Pizookie!      Pizookie is only an option for homes with prior dog owning experience, especially with flat faced breeds. Kids should be over the age of 8.November 20, 2024, 7:05 pm

If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $1200   Squishmallow is a 1 year old English Bulldog ready to join your stuffed animal collection as a limited edition cutie! Squish was rescued from the shelter with her sister, Pizookie. We aren’t sure who left these two adorable girls behind, but we quickly stepped up to ensure they found the best forever homes possible. We will be prioritizing homes with Bulldog experience as this breed has unique quirks that make them the best! Squish weighs 40 pounds and is the happiest, goofiest little gal in the entire world. Seriously, look at that smooshy face and tell us you didn’t fall in love instantly! If you’re ready for a fabulous new best friend, come and pick up Squishmallow from the toy store today!       Squishmallow is a total lovebug who is always ready for a snack and a belly rub! She adores her people and it has been amazing to watch her personality emerge more and more each day. She loves being part of the pack, clambering after her foster siblings happily. Squish is always down for a snuggle or a cuddle, and totally thinks she’s a lapdog even though she’s a bit bigger than the average lap pup. She knows how to capture all the attention in the room with her adorable face with her perpetual tongue sticking out. She’s a fabulous WFH companion as long as you’re happy with white noise in the form of Bulldog snuffles and grunts. Squishmallow is very much a couch potato type of dog, she’s more likely to snooze the day away than join an energetic hike. She does love a slow walk around the block though, as long as it ends with a sweet treat! According to her foster, Squish has been a perfect guest who is a total treat to spend time with. She lives up to her name with her smooshy face and her laid back personality. We know her personality will shine as she quickly wins you over when you meet her.  Squish wakes up between 6-7 AM, but would absolutely sleep in as late as you’d like! Everyone starts their day by going outside to do their business before coming inside to scarf down their breakfast. She spends her days wandering the yard, napping on the couch, getting cuddles and scratches, and making an assortment of Bulldog noises. She loves hanging out in the yard and sniffing all the scents of autumn! She eats dinner between 4-5 PM and eagerly seeks out extra snacks that her humans might drop on the floor. In the evening, she lounges on the couch and watches some TV as she unwinds from the day. She goes out for one last potty at 9 PM and then follows her foster mom to bed where she cuddles all night long.  Squishmallow currently lives with several dogs and gets along with them all. She adores people and is happy as long as she can soak up attention and affection. Squish is working on her leash walking skills and is making progress quickly! She would benefit from a home prepared to continue her training and socialization, as she wasn’t given the building blocks in her former home. We are hoping to find a home knowledgeable of the EBD breed so she can live her best and healthiest life! Come on down to the DPS toy store and meet our special Squishmallow!      Squishmallow is only an option for homes with prior dog owning experience. Priority will be given to those with experience in flat-faced breeds. Kids should be over the age of 9.November 15, 2024, 5:23 pm
