Story
OMG is she ever a cutie....Darling Nellie is ready to love and be loved! She is an adorable 4-year-old, 24 pound, black and white, micro Bully / French bulldog mix. Wait till you meet this special girl. She came to us with a prolapsed vagina and had to be hospitalized for several months. She is so excited to be feeling well! She loves to do zoomies and will entertain you with her antics. She is a foodie and loves healthy treats. She loves to have her belly scratched and will nudge your hand to keep you scratching! She may need leash training (she is better suited for stroller rides) and may need some house training. She is well worth it. She will fill your heart with joy! Please love slobbery kisses! This sensitive breed needs a breed savvy owner. Please provide your experience in your application. Please be a homeowner, with a securely fenced yard. Nellie has been spayed and is currently vaccinated and micro-chipped. Nellie is waiting for her FUREVER home. Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link. Story
Meet me Saturday 11/23 at 3 Steves Winery from 11:30 am - 4:30 pm! (5700 Greenville Rd, Livermore)Personality-wise, Long John Silver is very chill. He has two modes: sleeping loudly and wanting to be on top of you. He’s very tolerant of kids and will even cuddle nearby if they’re relaxing or reading. He spends his days sleeping or wanting to be in his foster caregiver`s lap. On walks, he does well on a leash and will tell you when he has had enough and wants to go home. Long John has been introduced to a crate and will nap in it with the door open, but prefers to sleep happily on a dog bed. He seems to be mostly housebroken, having only one accident the first day while he was still getting used to his caregiver’s schedule. He has previously been fostered with other dogs and did well with canine companionship. Long John has been receiving baths with a medicated shampoo and loves his spa time! Long John Silver was transferred to Valley Humane on 11/10 from Oakland Animal Services. He was surrendered when his owner could not afford his necessary eye surgery. He is an adult dog (aged between 4 and 7 years old) and weighs 17 pounds.Long John Silver has been diagnosed with skin irritation due to suspected allergies. The signs of allergy are most commonly itching and skin inflammation or infection. This pet has been treated with a topical flea control and started on an allergy medication. A specific cause was not determined. Allergies are generally caused by one of 3 categories: 1. Flea allergy. 2. Environmental allergy (atopy). 3. Food allergy.Long John Silver was diagnosed with grade II-III patellar luxation in both knees. This condition is common in small and toy breed dogs. In grade I, the patella sometimes moves out of place but returns to its normal position its own. In grade IV, the patella (kneecap) is constantly out of place and does not move back into its normal position. Grades II and III are intermediate in between these. Patellar luxation can cause occasional intermittent to constant lameness. Surgical correction should be considered if the dog shows frequent lameness or pain.Do you have questions about this animal or are you ready to take the next step to adoption? Story
Violet is the most joyful and lovable gal! She is SO happy to be alive and makes sure you know how grateful she is every second! Having a bad day? Violets smile will light up the WHOLE room. She is a cuddly girl that is happy to be around her person and will be happy to do anything with you! Want a chill day on the couch? Vi approves! Want to take a 3 hour hike? Vi also approves! She is a very adaptable gal! Violet is searching for her new bff! Could that be you? Violet is a smaller pittie mix, around 55lbs and is all muscle! She is a young dog but clearly has been bred multiple times. She has done great with other dogs her size or bigger with slow introductions. Violet is fully potty trained, leash trained, crate trained, and will happily nap in her crate if you need to leave her home while you go out. She is energetic and loves to play just as much as she loves to snuggle! Violet has some prey drive to small animals so no small dogs or cats. Because of how jumpy and mouthy she can get when she plays or gets excited, we believe she would do best and thrive in a home with kits 10+ only. She has been working on this with a trainer and has improved so so much! Violet has spent 6 weeks with a credible balanced trainer @boooshank (IG) and has made a lot of progress and learning to slow down and think before just acting, which is HUGE for her. She has struggled with being bale to control her impulses because of her prey drive but with working with @boooshank, she has been able to let the chickens be friends and not want to eat them when walking by! Whoever takes a chance on Violet gets a lot of AMAZING training perks from her trainer Lee! Violet comes with lifetime assistance from him, group classes for her whole life and 1:1 lessons, boarding options and priority swimming pool slots! Violet is currently being fostered in Woodland, CA. If you would like to meet Violet, please fill out an adoption application on our website www.californiabullyrescue.org/adopt.

Tucker is house trained, good with other dogs and is good with kids of all ages. He is an exuberant dog who is very excited to see people. He rides well in the car and is just a very fun dog. Tucker's favorite things are playing fetch and being with people. He knows sit, lay and shake and is leash trained. Tucker is already neutered, so can leave the shelter any time. $250.00 adoption for this great dog. Story
This nice dog is Rookie. He is about 4 years old and weighs 38 pounds. He is a Micro Bully mix. The owner was told when he got Rookie that he was a Poodle and Micro Bully, but if he is mixed with Poodle, it is not obvious. He has a long body so possibly has some Basset Hound in there, but who knows. His prior home had him living with a large Shepherd, but he has never been around cats. He was comfortable around children (lived with age 7 and older). When asked about house training, owner said that when Rookie came inside he did not have accidents, so he definitely prefers to potty outside. He may need to learn the rules in his new home though. Rookie has been updated on all his vaccinations, microchipped and will be neutered on 11/19. $300.00 adoption helps us with those costs. Please visit our website www.petsnpals.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.
