Rising from the Ashes… meet Phoenix! This chill `blocky dog` has enjoyed hanging out in a foster home while she is waiting to fly into more permanent digs. Her foster home consists of humans and a male canine. Phoenix enjoys spending time relaxing outside in the yard and going for outings, where she likes to greet those who want to say `hi` but otherwise minds her own business and walks easily. After some mild play and exercise, she loves gently resting her big head on her foster parent’s lap for a snuggle. She is house trained and gets an A+ rating on her car skills. From March 10th to March 17th, this dog’s adoption fee is reduced to $50 during the Get Lucky Adoption Special.Please note: Our Santa Cruz Location is open from 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.

His favorite activities in his previous home include long walks on the beach, playing tug-of-war, and playing fetch. He also enjoys chew toys and ropes. Salem was adopted in December but the owner unfortunately cannot keep her so she is currently staying with me (her previous sitter and now foster mom) and I’m heartbroken that I am not able to keep her myself, but would love to remain her sitter if ever needed. She needs to be with an experienced dog owner who has been around special needs dogs. She is so sweet and chill, but is reactive to some dogs. - 5 years old (roughly) - 60lbs - Spayed - Potty trained, will cry when she needs to go - Kibble diet (Science Diet) - Good on car rides with hammock and bungee seatbelt - Beautiful, sweet, smart, silly, playful, chill - Loves walks, playtime, and hanging out on the couch - Good on walks with a pinch/choke collar and will only pull if you let her If you are looking for a constant companion who will love you to death but has some PTSD, then Salem is your girl. She needs an adopter who will be patient and kind. She is so easy to love and deserves to be loved back.

He's your typical Bull Dog -- he has slobbery kisses to share with anyone he meets. He also has the typical Bull Dog medical needs. Ferdinand loves to play, and would do beautifully in a home where he can can get out all of his energy! He likes to chew and play, and he will need a patient home where his guardians can provide him with proper dog stimulation -- toys, licky mats, and puzzles galore! We love this goofy guy, and know you will too! This bowling ball of a boy came to us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services after he was picked up as a stray. They needed a rescue to take on his medical needs, which was only possible with the kind of help our dogs get in their foster homes.

Looks like: Bulldog mix Female, 6 years old (estimated), 40 pounds Polly Pocket is one darling little lady who is ready to wiggle her way into your home. Polly is full of energy, loves to play with people, pups and toys alike. She's a low-riding bundle of joy and is ready to give her new furever family a ton of love! She makes everyone giggle with her goofy smile and light-hearted nature. Polly also rides like a champ in the car and is super food motivated!! Polly gets along with other dogs and likes to play, but will let them know if they are invading her space too much by putting her paw on them. We love that she communicates like this, and think she will do best in a home with another dog who responds well to her boundaries. She has definitely had a few litters of puppies in the past, and we think Polly is showing her motherly instinct when she does this. She would also be great as a solo pup. This sweet lady came to us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services after she was picked up as a stray.
