Bowie is a fun loving, silly pup. She absolutely adores car rides, playing with the hose water, and napping. She is the queen of comfort and appreciates a soft blanket in a cozy spot in the house. If you have a backyard, one of her favorite hobbies is sunbathing and relaxing outside. When she gets excited, her paws dance (especially when you get her leash & harness ready for a walk). Bowie will never turn down a snack or spending time with her humans. She has lived peacefully with cats and small male dogs.

This beautiful girl has an incredible story—she was rescued from the middle of the 105 freeway, and now she’s ready for a fresh start in a loving home. We estimate that she’s about 3 years old, and she has a wonderful, playful energy, especially when it’s time for her walks! She’s an excellent walker—no tugging on the leash and she listens beautifully to direction. Although she’s a bit shy and hesitant around other animals, she’s perfectly fine being around cats and is happy to avoid other dogs. Her playful puppy-like personality truly shines when she’s around people. She’s affectionate and loves to be showered with attention and scratches. When she’s excited, she’ll jump up to give you the sweetest greeting. Having recently given birth, we suspect she may have been used as a breeder, but we want to ensure her next chapter is filled with love, care, and the comfort she deserves. She’s eager for affection and will thrive in a home where she can feel safe, cherished, and part of the fam.

Brody is 2.5 years old and a lean 60lbs. We adopted him when he was 6 months old. He currently lives in a house with 2 adults, a 3.5yr old and a 5 month old. Hes great around kids, however we have noticed he is getting more anxious and nervous with children around which is why we are wanting to re-home him. He is crate trained, potty trained, knows basic commands (sit, stay, down, heel). He walks and runs well on a leash. He has a lot of energy and needs exercise every day, the mile walks we are giving him daily are not enough for him. He gets along well with other dogs and loves going to doggy daycare. He is cuddly when he is in a calm mood and enjoys sunbathing outside. He is slightly mouthy which is a behavior that will need to be corrected (we thought it was just a puppy phase but he never grew out of it). He tends to nip on occasion, more of an air snap, not a bite. He would do well in a home with another dog and no kids and lots of room to run and play.

Sonny, an American Bulldog mix, was wandering down a busy street near a homeless encampment with no owner nearby. A woman driving by cared enough about Sonny to pull over and take the time to scoop him up. He was extremely dirty when he was found, and it’s very possible he had been living on the streets. This compassionate lady brought Sonny to AALOC for safekeeping until he finds his new forever home. Sonny is a lovable guy who enjoys attention and affection. A warm, sudsy bath uncovered his true handsomeness: Sonny is black and white with black button eyes and a black nose, accented with a bit of pink. He is a large dog, weighing in at about 70 pounds and is very strong. We feel Sonny would benefit from some basic training and needs an owner who could provide him with the exercise and discipline that would provide Sonny the best life. Please complete an application to adopt Sonny at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved, we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Sonny and get to know him a bit. Adoption donation of $165 per dog includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit. Despite not having any lucky finding his people, Jewelz is full of personality and such a sweet boy! Jewels will not go anywhere without his toy!! He walks around with his toy in his mouth…no matter where he goes, he’s sure to bring his toy with him! He loves his beds, belly rubs, he loves to cuddle, and rides well in the car. Jewels does great with other dogs his size and would do just fine having canine siblings of his size in his home. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and housebroken. Rocky is a sweet, affectionate, and devoted dog who wants nothing more than to be in the same room as his human. Where ever you go, he will follow. That's how much he attaches to you. He has a very sweet way of sitting, gazing into your eyes, and giving you his paw to let you know he'd like some attention and affection. You'll melt when he looks into your eyes with devotion. He get's very wiggly and excited to see you when you come home from work. You will feel so loved by him. Rocky loves sun bathing in the backyard and he gets oh so adorably excited when he thinks it's time for a car ride. The destination doesn't matter. It's the ride itself he longs for. He's always up for a ride. Like most bulldogs, he's not much of a walker. He prefers to take long naps throughout the day. If he doesn't want to continue walking, he will become stubborn. He's very food motivated, so training him is relatively easy. He still needs to work on "wait." Rocky loves the attention of humans. He doesn't care too much for the attention or company of other dogs. Rocky doesn't like it when i give my other dog attention and will attack. He will do best as the only dog in the home. He's not been in the company of cats, so that's TBD. He is very cooperative to bathe. He gets high marks from the groomers. But if you'd like to bathe him yourself, he'll be more than happy to comply. He's accustomed to sleeping in a crate at night, and is happy to have his own little space. But he does perfectly well sleeping on the floor without a crate. Medical: He gets a Cytopoint injection every 4-6 weeks to curb itching, irritated skin. I've tried all sorts of different dog foods, even hydrolyzed protein to eliminate the skin issues, but to no avail. His ears need frequent cleaning. December 15, 2024, 7:45 pm
