Story
Astro will match your energy. He likes to run around and play and also likes to take a good old fashioned nap in the sun. I've socialized Astro since he was a puppy. He regularly goes to the dog park. True to his breed he is defensive around his owner, but he is also playful once he feels comfortable around the other dogs. At the dog park, if he observes other dogs getting into arguments, then he will jump in and break them up. He is a very curious dog. He wants to be in the center of what is happening and sees the world through his nose. He is content to just sit at your feet while you work and be with you. Astro is both crate and house trained. On cold days he will let us know he needs to go. On warm days we tend to leave the door open a little and he lets Astro knows how to sit, stay, lay down. After his daily walk he knows to sit before we will take off his harness. He also knows how to fetch. We engaged with a professional trainer to help us get him settled.

Story
Meet Camper! Camper was found tied to a bench outside of Chula Vista Animal Care Facility. We scooped him up to become a Frosted Face on February 21st. He is around 10 years old, weighs 71 lbs., and is very friendly and sweet. If you are looking for a loving, fun, and cuddly best friend, Camper might be the one for you! Camper is an all-around good boy! He's mellow, likes to play with toys, and gets along well with the 8+ dogs in his play group. Camper enjoys going on our weekly FFF hikes, has good leash manners, and walks slowly and steadily for about two miles on the trails. Casper also enjoys going on solo outings with volunteers and earns high marks for being a well-behaved, relaxed date at wineries, parks, and restaurants. He rides nicely in cars, too! Camper spent time in a foster home after having surgery to remove most of his tail due to a cancerous mass, and we are so thankful that he was able to recover in a home and get lots of TLC. His Foster Mom shared: "Camper is healthy, happy, and all healed. I am here to tell you how wonderful he is!! This sweet boy would love to be in his fur ever home, preferably with someone who has experience with anxious dogs. After being abandoned and tied up to a bench outside of the shelter, he likes two things now: toys to take with him and knowing where his person is. But that doesn't mean you can't leave him alone! As his foster mom, I obviously couldn't take him everywhere. So he stayed home when I went to work or the store, and he did just fine! Camper is GREAT with kids and other dogs. He was curious about my cats, but didn't react to them. He is a polite eater, takes his meds in his food like a champ, and loves to sleep a good chunk of the day. He will walk with you, but no need to do a mile or two...he's totally happy with a 20 minute stroll and a rest in the sunshine. Camper is house-trained, rides great in the car, and sleeps through the night. I can't wait to see this wonderful boy find his forever home!" Camper is now back on-site waiting to meet his forever family. In the meantime, he is enjoying fun adventures away from our facility with volunteers. He recently went paddle boarding, and he was a natural! He sat, stood, and even snuggled with the volunteer paddling him around the bay. Camper was so relaxed! If you are looking for a new best friend with a heart of gold, please come meet Camper!

Story
Meet Marlin! Marlin came to us from San Bernardino City Animal Control on September 4th. He is 9 years old and weighs 82 lbs. He is a social butterfly who enjoys making new two and four-legged friends. If you are looking for a sweet, calm companion who enjoys the simple pleasures of life, Marlin might just be the perfect match for you! Marlin is a handsome, big-hearted dog with a zest for sniffing out every corner of the great outdoors. He recently went on an adventure to Collier Park with a volunteer and hopped into the SUV with excitement, clearly eager for some fun. His enthusiasm continued at the park, where he spent an hour exploring every blade of grass and tree with his nose! Marlin was completely non-reactive to all that was going on at the park. From kids on bikes to joggers, he remained calm and focused on his sniffing mission. He's the definition of "chill" in a busy environment. Volunteers also treated Marlin to a stand-up paddle boarding adventure and learned that he prefers to be in the water swimming rather floating along. Marlin currently lives in a Foster home. If you're looking for a gentle, lovable, low-key guy, he could be the perfect addition to your family! To meet Marlin, please email adopt@frostedfacesfoundation.org to schedule an appointment.

Story
Meet Rocky! the sweetest American Bulldog - with the squishiest face. NO KIDS ADULT HOME ONLY!!! He is approximately 1 year old. Rocky is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, potty trained and knows some commands. Rocky has a sad back story despite being so young. He was chained up outside 24/7 to be a “guard dog” (American bulldogs are pets, not guard dogs!) & then one day surrendered to a high kill shelter in Los Angeles when he wasn’t of any use anymore. We then scooped him up from the shelter. He was never exposed to many things so he can get overstimulated on walks and can use some continued leash work for that. He is the sweetest, floppy big puppy. Rocky is crate trained and very regimented on a routine in our house. Even being a puppy he only chews bones and some toys- -loves to play with his toys and carry around his stuffed monkey. Rocky is good and playful with other dogs with proper introduction but prefers to be the king of the castle. He’s currently being fostered in the Tacoma, WA area and will be relocating to Los Angeles in the next couple of weeks.

Meet Elvis! Elvis is a beautiful American Bully boy, he is 2 years old and the biggest ball of love. He was saved from one of the highest kill shelters in SoCal. How he ended up there, we will never know or understand but today he is safe and thriving in his foster home. Elvis is super smart and has mastered potty and crate training. He also loves all people and dogs. Although his play style is loud and intense so he may not be for every dog! He is very excitable and would love a companion that will match his energy. If you’re interested in adopting this handsome boy please apply @ http://underdogheroes.org to be considered! And help us find Elvis his Furever home!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. The tale of Robby, a 10-year-old Boxer Mix, is a heart-wrenching illustration of how a dog can be considered homeless despite technically having an owner. For a decade, Robby endured a life of neglect, living in a dilapidated dog house barely fit for a rat, positioned just outside the home of his owner. Stripped of the basic necessities of care and nourishment, he had no choice but to resort to scavenging for food, begging passersby for scraps and water, all while defending himself from the other street dogs that roamed freely. This life of hardship took its toll on his health, leaving him riddled with infections and suffering from painful rotten and broken teeth due to his desperate attempts to eat whatever he could find. Fortunately, a glimmer of hope arose when concerned individuals turned to me for assistance. I understood that Robby’s situation was a call for compassion that could not be ignored. Upon his rescue, it became clear just how much love and care Robby had been deprived of over the years. With proper veterinary care and rehabilitation, this gentle soul began to regain his health, blossoming into a vibrant and affectionate companion. Robby’s journey is of survival and resilience!! When kindness finally entered his life after years of starvation and loneliness his soul came to life. However, the scars of his past linger on. Although Robby is now a sweet dog who adores human company, the years of ill treatment have left him with food and treat aggression. These behaviors are not indicative of his character but rather a reflection of his survival instincts honed in an unforgiving environment. We continue to help Robby by overcoming his feeling of being food deprived with training and he's doing so much better. We are committed to Robby!!! It’s believed that the best path for Robby is to live as an only dog, allowing him to bask in the one thing he has longed for throughout his tumultuous life—human kindness and love. Robby's story is not just a reminder of the plight of many animals; it serves as a call to action for compassion and understanding, driving us to provide every creature the loving home they deserve. I added Robby’s before pictures on his post so you can see what his life was like and to show how resilient a beautiful soul could be. Robby deserves to live the rest of his life in peace, comfort and with a lot of love which he thrives on. If you live in San Diego County, have a home with a secured yard and would love a wonderful companion dog then please complete our adoption application at tlck9rescue.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 9:16 pm

Story
Hi, this is Sebastian he is a full breed boxer and he is 2 years old. He’s very social and loves attention and hugs. He has grown up around his 2 other brothers from same litter but unfortunately due to moving I cannot keep him. He’s very friendly and loves to run and play catch. He loves making friends at the dog park. He has a great personality and we are so sad to have to see him go. He need’s special attention to his diet because he’s allergic to chicken and eats a salmon & rice blend dog food. Also he has sensitive skin due to these food allergies. He’s the smallest out of all his brothers I’d say he weighs low 60’s lbs! He is microchipped and he is fixed. With up to date shots!
