Story
Saiph is an adult spayed female husky/Malamute mix. When she first came to us she was very shut down and it was apparent that she had recently weaned a litter and had been found as a stray in Houston.  Saiph was heartworm positive but handled treatment really well and she is fully recovered.   She is crate trained and house trained. She needs to be the only dog in the household. We do not feel she would do well with cats either due to observed prey drive.  She is very sweet people, and she is overall fairly quiet. She has the softest "wooo" of all time and is an extremely low energy dog but would enjoy walks with her people. Story
Mordecai is a young Malamute that is very sweet and loving, but is indeed a puppy in a very large body. When he first came to us he had been mauled by two other dogs and he was battling mange. He has since recovered beautifully from all of that. His pictures here show some of that healing progress.  He is around 70 lbs currently, but may gain over the next year or so as he grows. Being so young and having had so little structure or boundaries in his life prior to coming to us, Mordecai does lack some impulse control and will need to build a bond and relationship with his new people in order to be his best self.  Mordecai is learning to sit patiently, but he is so highly food motivated sometimes he cannot contain himself. He would do best in a home without children or with older children that won't be easily knocked over as he doesn't manage his own large body well at times.  With time and patience, Mordecai will make a great dog for someone looking for a companion or an adventure buddy.  Petfinder: If you are interested in adopting Mordecai, please visit RedstoneHuskyRescue.org/adopt for his adoption profile and application.  ##1872709##

Story
Polar is a stunning big boy who is still a puppy at heart. He thinks everyone loves him and loves him jumping up to greet them. We do think in a home he can overcome this, but here at the shelter he has to jump for attention with the other dogs. He is good with other dogs and wants to play and loves being out in the yard. If you have a fenced yard or land for this boy he would be a wonderful addition. But, just because he is big doesn`t mean he is grown. Like we said, he is still very much a puppy and needs some training with lots of love.

Story
My kids and my husband love this dog but I have to put my foot down because we have too many pets. He deserves a family with kids who can love him as much as mine do, and he LOVES kids and dogs. since we have had him for three weeks, he has been completely kennel trained for up to 8 hours a couple times but mostly for stretches of 4-6 hours. He is extremely smart. He can sit before his meal is given, sit for treats, he no longer jumps on people, he lays down before exiting the kennel per command, he does not bark except on rare occasions. He chews on things because he is young and steals shoes but just places them in the yard without chewing. We keep him tired and he is good. He is very food motivated and loves chewie's and will learn anything quickly for a treat, even fruit. He has been given a bath and tolerated it well. He is not food aggressive and is generally a very, very good pup. I would guess he is 1 year old or less. Very healthy. He has a golden undercoat and black top coat
