Meet Koda! Your new fluffy BFF! Age: 3 years | Weight: 63 lbs Koda is a stunning husky/malamute mix who is ready to find her forever home! Unlike many huskies, she’s a low-maintenance girl, perfectly content with a short walk or some yard time before heading back inside to enjoy the AC. Koda is crate trained, walks nicely on leash, and is potty trained. She’s gentle, curious, and independent, making her an easy companion who doesn’t demand constant attention. That said, Koda will do best with structure and boundaries. She can be protective of her food, toys, and favorite spots, so she will need a confident adopter who understands how to manage resource guarding or is open and willing to learn. Feeding her in her crate and skipping couch privileges will help set her up for success. Because she can be protective of her things with other dogs and is a bit too interested in cats, she will do best as an only pet in the home. Koda is also a true beauty queen! With her gorgeous coat, she’ll need regular brushing to keep her looking and feeling her best. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who enjoys a calmer lifestyle, Koda may be your perfect match. She’s ready to share her love and personality with the right family! Apply to adopt Koda at: acesplacerescue.org/availabledogs Located in Denton, Texas

Story
I rescued a 5 month old Malamute/Husky mix from an animal shelter to keep him from being put down due to sickness. I have had him for 7 months now and he is completely well, up to date on all his shots, heartworm, flea and tick medication, and neutered. This baby was severely abused before I rescued him, as someone cut his tail off and it appears he was beaten. Reveille has been house trained and crate trained, and is wonderful with children. He doesn't bark much, but will talk to you when he wants something or to go outside. He loves to play with toys and other dogs, but he has a tendency to try and take all the toys, especially if there are other dogs play with the toys he thinks he needs. He is very good with kids and plays with my grandsons all the time. Reveille needs a home with understanding owners who will be patient with him and give him lots of love. A fenced in back yard would be perfect, as he has a tendency to run away and not come home if he is not fenced in.

Story
DOB - Feb. 10, 2020 Reason for rehoming: My son (owner) moved to Africa. I cannot keep him due to my lease. If he cannot be rehomed, he will have to go to a shelter. The local Akita rescue is not accepting any new dogs. Alpha is a sweet and devoted American Akita looking for a forever home where he can thrive. He is incredibly loyal, affectionate, and naturally protective of his family—once he bonds with you, he is your shadow and your biggest fan. Alpha does have environmental allergies, so he’ll need an adopter who can continue his care and keep him comfortable. He cannot be boarded, so he needs a family who can provide in-home care or trusted at-home pet sitting when traveling. He loves being near his people, enjoys calm environments, and does best with someone who understands large guardian breeds. Alpha will make an amazing companion for the right person or family—someone who values loyalty, connection, and a dog who truly loves his humans.
