Story
Meet Maxx, a handsome and energetic young dog who carries the intelligence and independent spirit of his Alaskan Malamute heritage in a unique, less-fluffy package. Weighing around 75 pounds, this one-year-old is ready to bring his loyal and playful personality to a forever home.Maxx is a dog with character. He loves plush toys and squeakers, staring at his reflection, and a good game of basketball. He is an independent companion who appreciates his own space but is always ready to lend a helping paw, whether it be by pushing open doors to help bring in groceries or ringing the doorbell. His most endearing trait is the warm, cuddly welcome he gives when his people return home.He has a fantastic foundation thanks to his foster family. Maxx is house-trained, crate-trained (and prefers to sleep in his crate even with the door wide open), and knows basic commands like `sit` and `stop.` He loves his walks and is making great progress on leash manners, though he will do best with a confident walker who can continue his training. He has been good with older children and shows a playful curiosity toward other dogs on walks.Maxx is looking for an active, patient family who can provide him with the love and structure he needs to truly thrive. If you are ready for a devoted and wonderful companion, ask about Maxx today!Maxx is located in Houston, Tx and can be transported to most states for $300.00

Story
We are looking to rehome our 5 year old alaskan malamute Aurora. She gets along with our other dog and cat, but not sure how well she'll do with other animals. She has bitten our previous male puggle mix. She should to go a home with no small children. We are looking to rehome her because she has become aggressive with our 2 year old child. She never bit any one besides our child and has never shown aggression towards adults or older children. Has shown aggression toward small children under 5. If you have questions please feel free to ask.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Also, with any resources of value with any dog supervision, especially with a new home transition period and teaching young kids not to pull on tails, paws, fluffy hair, and more, sets things up for success. Mya will come with 4 free sessions with a professional trainer to help with home balance and help give insight on things with your routine that can help her bond with your family and create an easy, comfortable transition.
