Story
Carson came to us from a puppy mill farm that closed down. He lived in a 10x10 run since he was a puppy with little human interaction. He is shy and timid but has learned so much in the little bit of time we have had him. He is a sweet deserving guy that will blossom with a patient family that can introduce him to life outside of a 10x10 run. He is looking for stability and someone to love. He would benefit from living with a female dog companion who can help show him what home life is like.

Story
Violet came to us from a kill shelter with Diesel who is also available for adoption. Violet is a young, bouncy, happy girl, who is ready for family to love her. She could live with another male companion in the home but would also be just as happy being the only dog in the home where she can get all the attention she deserves. Violet is a sweet, affectionate, smaller girl at 60lbs. and approximately a year and a half old. She is looking for a family with a fenced in yard and no small animals please. *********************************** If you are interested in ADOPTING or FOSTERING, please complete an application by cutting & pasting the following link: https://form.jotform.com/60794585351161 Or visit CHAAMP.org to access the Adoption/Foster link and learn about the process. https://www.chaamp.org/adoption-process Your application tells us about your lifestyle and helps us find a potential match for you and your family. We are happy to work with you. For example, if you don't have a fence, we can help find alternatives and/or a dog that will do well without a fence. A home visit is required prior to adoption/fostering. You can visit the malamute(s) once you've completed the process. Alternatively, you may volunteer and learn how rewards-based training brings out the best in malamutes. ********************************* CHAAMP accepts applications from Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington DC. ADOPTION FEES ~Senior dogs (8+ years old): $100.00 ~Adult dogs (2 years up to 8): $300.00 ~Puppies (6 months - 2 years): $350.00 ~Puppies under 6 months: $375 All Malamutes are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up-to-date on vaccines. Puppy fees are higher due to more vet visits and vaccines. The adoption fee helps us cover these costs. ********************************* We highly recommend the following links that you will need to cut and paste: Kathy Sdao’s SMART x 50 (Capture & Reward Good Behavior) https://babysafedogtraining.com/kathy-sdaos-smart-x-50-another-way-to-use-1000-treats/ Building Your Dog's Confidence by Victoria Stilwell (FREE Online Course) https://www.vsdogtrainingacademy.com/enroll/demo/ Shy Adopters Guide https://www.shelterdogplay.org/_files/ugd/7c885c_2f9fe1f87ea24376912b6e0b18e41998.pdf ********************************* CHAAMP is not a shelter and is run by 100% volunteers. Story
Diesel is estimated to be one and a half years old. He is a sweet and shy boy looking forward to having a family. He weighs about 100 lbs. and is sensitive to loud noises (no city life please). Diesel would do best in a nice quiet home and fenced in backyard would be ideal. Diesel would benefit from having a female four-legged companion in the home to show him the ropes and discover his new world. He is affectionate and will give you his paw to request love and attention. Diesel was pulled from a kill shelter with Violet (a malamute/husky mix) who CHAAMP also has available

Story
Dakota is approximate two-years-old and would love a family that goes on adventures and the great outdoors running or hiking. He enjoys car rides too. Dakota came to us from a family who could not provide for him. He is looking for a family to reinforce good behavior (manners), teach him engaging games, and show him the good life in a home with A/C. He has been great on a leash and needs help learning to curb his enthusiasm. He is a happy big boy and has done well meeting dogs while some appear intimidated by his size and excitement. He is happy exploring his new life. Dakota would love a nice big fenced in backyard, where he can run around and be a dog. If you're looking for a love bug and best friend

Story
Jasmine is a surrendered puppy mill mom. We want to give her a chance to experience real love with a family. She is affectionate and loves to be loved! She is around 8 years old and is learning what it's like to be outside of a barn stall and walking on a leash. She loves her newfound freedom and is such a sweet girl. She loves to go for walks and check out all the new sights, sounds, and to find critters. She has a harness and has lots of fun exploring and going on sniffing adventures with a human on the other end of the leash. It is very exciting! She is just so happy to be out. She has never lived in a home and will need her human to show her the luxury of being an indoor companion.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- MOOSE IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR AN INDIVIDUAL ASKING TO REHOME THEIR PET. PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW.   From Moose's caretaker 'Moose came into our care from an overcrowded kill shelter. He was high on the euthanasia list due to his size, anxiety/fear-based aggression, and their lack of space. Since we got Moose, we have found that he is a delightfully lazy, sweet, and stoic boy whose favorite activity is to nap on the porch. Moose knows basic commands and enjoys training sessions with lots of treats! He is crate trained and muzzle trained (command ‘snoot!’) and enjoys walks on the long lead.    Though we do not know much of his history, he has not bitten anyone in the year he has been with us. He shows his anxiety in appropriate ways (whale eyes, lip licks, avoidance). We say fear based aggression simply because the few times he has shown warning signs of aggression have been when he is very anxious and over threshold but he easily deescalates with space and comfort. Moose is very sweet, just very sensitive and with his Fluoxetine (Prozac) he has felt a lot more at ease! We are only rehoming him due to his prey drive towards our cats. He is friendly with people, even men, as long as they don’t manhandle him and seems to be good with other dogs!   If you are interested in him or would like more information about him please reach out to me so we can schedule a meet and greet! Moose would be happy to meet you!  We would like to send him with his XXXL crate, baskerville muzzle, toys, harness/leash, etc. Moose is currently fully vaccinated, microchipped with a tempscan chip, and he had a health/DNA genetic panel done (surprisingly a purebred Alaskan malamute!)' IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING MOOSE, PLEASE CONTACT HIS CARETAKER: Jax Knott  email: jax.knott3@gmail.com Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 27, 2024, 3:34 pm
