If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please complete  an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org.   Ralph is the sweetest shadow, always eager to be by your side—whether it’s following you from room to room or accompanying you on long walks. What he lacks in training, he more than makes up for with his friendly, curious nature and deep desire to please. His affectionate spirit shines through in the way he greets you every morning with gentle nose nudges (or enthusiastic chest compressions, if he can reach). His zoomies are legendary, capable of making you laugh so hard you stop making sound, and his habit of flopping into your lap for belly rubs, oblivious to his size, is one of the cutest things you’ll ever see. He only kind of knows his name, but he’s eager to learn and thrives with patience and kindness. Ralph does great in an apartment, as long as he gets out for long walks or playtime to burn off energy. He’s housebroken and respectful when left alone, though he may whine briefly before settling down. He doesn’t bark (except in his sleep) and rarely makes a sound—aside from the occasional dramatic sigh when ignored. If he knows he’s missing out on something exciting, he sometimes lets out the quietest, saddest little howls, just to make sure you know he wishes he was involved. He’s good with other dogs and all the people he’s met, though he does tend to jump on new visitors to check them out (hopefully neutering will help with that). He loves his food and favorite toys so much that he’ll sometimes lay on top of them to keep them safe. Because of this, very young children should be attended around him, and a family with older kids would likely be the best fit. Ralph truly adores people and would thrive either as a solo dog or in a multi-dog household, as long as he gets lots of human attention and toys are supervised. This boy is made for adventure—whether it's hiking, running alongside a bike, or carrying his own gear in a backpack. He’s a magnet for ticks (check that adorable white face regularly!), and he can be sneaky about eating things off the ground. His ideal home will give him plenty of exercise, patience with training, and, most importantly, all the love and cuddles he craves. Ralph is an incredibly special dog, ready to bring endless joy to the lucky person who welcomes him into their life. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.   The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online forms here as well.  ##2316915##

Story
Grandpa is an 8 year also Alaskan Malamute. Have you been looking for a sweet and snuggly guy to keep you company and make you smile?   Grandpa is the guy for you!    He recently was cat tested with a dog savvy cat and went nose to nose without an issue.  He loves to look longingly into your eyes while you pet his sweet head.  He gives the best kisses.  And because he came from Arkansas, Grandpa's coat is not Minnesota-ready yet,  but while it grows in he is ALL IN for extra hugs and snuggles.   He is estimated to be 8-years old and is pretty active.  Like all older guys, he is a bit stubborn and set in his ways.  And like all Malamutes, he is a very people-oriented and wants to be with his family.  He likes to play and is learning to sing with our 5 other resident dogs.  He plays best with other dogs that are about the same size as him (80+lbs) and who that match his lower energy.   Since he was in an Arkansas shelter for quite some time, he can be kennelled, but he would rather be out and about.  He is really smart and learned quickly how to use the doggie door.  He rides great in a car and is fully house trained.  Grandpa has great manners, does not counter surf, takes treats very gently and he knows sit, shake, and lay down too.  It's been too cold to take him for walks yet, but he was great on leash at pickup.  He is rarely left alone for more than an hour as we mostly work from home. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  $250.00  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 4, 2025, 10:12 pm
