You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Meet Baron, a majestic Husky/Malamute mix with a noble spirit. At 2.5 years old and neutered, Baron is ready to start a new chapter with a family that understands his breed. Baron is very social with other dogs and loves belly rubs. He walks well on a leash and is non-leash reactive, making him great for outings. He crates well at night, is potty trained, and knows commands like sit, shake, high five, and touch. He's eager to learn more tricks! Baron's wooly coat requires regular brushing and professional grooming to keep him comfortable and healthy. Prospective adopters need to understand the grooming commitment and the unique needs of his breed. Baron's new home should not have children under 15, cats, or small dogs. Requirements for Baron's new family: - Experience with Husky/Malamute breeds - Commitment to regular grooming - Understanding of breed-specific behaviors and needs - No children under 15, cats, or small dogs If you meet these requirements, Baron could be the perfect addition to your home. Important Note: Baron had entropion surgery to correct his eyelids. His new family should monitor his eye health as part of his ongoing care. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. December 2, 2024, 2:54 pm

Story
I'm looking to rehome a family pet he is around a year and a half he will be two in March. Unfortunately, my backyard is not fenced in, and he really needs the yard to run. I also have a little one and he is fully of energy and accidentally knocks her down when he is playing. He is a Male Alaskan Shepard yes, a beautiful breed but has a ton of energy. Togo will be needing his shots as this has not been able to be completed yet. We had a previous meet up with another pet owner and the dog launched at Togo and bit him. Togo was scared and tried to run but was on a leash. He has always been with other pets such as a chocolate lab and chihuahua but with the previous experience I would recommend not introducing to quickly as this is startling for him. Also, Togo has experience with other kids from infant up to teen years with no issues.

I'm looking to rehome a family pet he is around a year and a half he will be two in March. Unfortunately, my backyard is not fenced in, and he really needs the yard to run. In addition, I have a young child, and he is so excited and tends to knock her over. He is a Male Alaskan Shepard yes, a beautiful breed but has a ton of energy! He has always been a family dog and has been around children and dogs his whole life. However, I had a previous meet up and the dog ended up biting Togo. Togo was afraid and could not run due to being on a leash the other dog was not. I am unsure now on how he would warm up to other dogs due to this incident but previously has been amazing with kids and adults. There are no health issues but would need his shots. Not neutered either.
