Story
This is Socks. She is a 5 year old Akita. We adopted her at 4 1/2 years. We found that she is beautiful protector and loving pet. She is protective of strangers and always happy to see us. A few months ago she became aggressive with our Pit mix even though she has not bothered our other 4 dogs. She has been fine when our small grandchildren visit. She does not bother them. But I am always present with my grandkids. She does well with our 2 cats. She may sniff at them but has not chased. She is house broken and sleeps inside the home. She will always remain by yours side and she will talk to you when you come home. When we leave the house she stays by the gate until we return. We have her on a pet feeder to eat and drink as she wishes. She loves walks and big yards. But mostly she just wants to be by her owners. She is heartworm positive and we have had her on prevention heartworm medicine instead of doing the invasive treatment.

Story
Socks is 5 year old female. She does well with many dogs but not with pit mixes even if they are non-aggressive. She did very will with older female Dobermans, female Cocker spaniel and Male German shepherd. She is fixed and current on shots. She is heart worm positive but Vet recommended we continue with heart worm preventative meds and she could continue to have a full life.

Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! For instance, I am a busy boy, I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Chevy has been waiting almost a year for his forever home, and we can’t believe this lovable boy hasn’t been scooped up yet! This 7-year-old, 45-pound husky mix is the perfect combination of sweet, playful, and well-mannered.Chevy is a total gentleman—house-trained, kennel-trained, and respectful of your space. He’s affectionate but not pushy, loves belly rubs, and enjoys playing with stuffed toys. He gets along great with other dogs and knows basic commands like sit, down, and wait. He’s not food or toy aggressive, rarely barks, and isn’t a beggar at mealtime. He loves to ride in the car and gets in easily. While Chevy is wonderful in many ways, he does have a few quirks—he pulls a bit on the leash and has a strong instinct to chase squirrels and cats, so he’ll need a feline-free home. But with his loving personality, excellent manners, and gentle nature, Chevy is such a good boy who deserves a family of his own.Could you be the one to finally give Chevy the forever home he’s been waiting for?IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats.
